Since my most recent visit was a Sunday, I was unable to take photos inside the Cathedral which is an awe inspiring feat of architecture and creativity. Outside, the grounds are restful and beautiful, a towering icon amidst the high rise buildings of the city. Look up and ask yourself, how did this survive the Blitz? I believe the answer can be seen at the very pinnacle of the dome. On this occasion, the part that struck me was the juxtaposition of the ancient building, where Christopher Wren borrowed styles from Classical Greek and Roman architecture, the green and fountains being used by ordinary Londoners (and their dogs!) in a hot day and the skateboarders making use of the shady steps and walkways. Access for everyone - as it should be. It is, of course, worth going inside. It is free on Sundays although you can only access the rear section of the Cathedral; the balcony and crypt areas are all closed. It’s worth it just to hear the majesty of the organ in full flow or to attend one of several services, including evensong). If you want to see the whole Cathedral, book in advance, it’s cheaper (2022 prices: £18 for an adult versus £21 at the gate) and for the same price you can get access for a whole year. Allow plenty of time and try to go to the Whispering Gallery when it is relatively quiet so you get the full effect of the whispers.

Massive Cathedral! You can buy family tickets that will save money. There is a security point before entering where they will check bags. We were able to get in pretty quickly without buying tickets ahead of time. So much detail both on the outside and the inside. It is worth visiting the crypt below and taking your time to view the Inscriptions on the floor. The beauty and elegance of these cathedrals kept me in awe. There are toilets down below in the crypt however keep your entrance ticket as they will check to make sure you can re-enter. There is also a souvenir shop and Cafe below in the crypt as well. Princess Diana was married in this Cathedral which was interesting. Plenty of places to sit in the gardens outside. There is also a display right now (Sept.2022) about Queen Elizabeth II in one of the rooms which was amazing to see.

St. Paul's Cathedral: A Spiritual and Architectural Marvel St. Paul's Cathedral, located in the heart of London, is an iconic symbol of British history, spirituality, and architectural brilliance. This magnificent masterpiece, designed by Sir Christopher Wren, has been a centerpiece of the city's skyline for over 300 years, and it continues to captivate visitors from around the world. The cathedral's grandeur is evident as soon as you approach its majestic dome, rising high above the bustling streets. The exterior showcases a harmonious blend of Baroque and English Renaissance architecture, with its ornate facades and iconic dome that has become synonymous with London's skyline. The interior is equally awe-inspiring, featuring a breathtaking nave, intricate mosaics, and stunning stained glass windows that bathe the space in a kaleidoscope of colors when the sunlight streams in. One of the most appealing aspects of St. Paul's Cathedral is its accessibility to all. While entry prices apply, the ticket last for an year and include guided tours that provide invaluable insights into the history, architecture, and spiritual significance of the cathedral. Visitors have the chance to explore the crypt, ascend the Whispering Gallery, and venture even higher to the Golden Gallery, all while learning about the cathedral's storied past. A unique feature of St. Paul's is the opportunity to attend a free service on most nights. Whether you're seeking a moment of reflection, spiritual connection, or simply want to experience the soul-stirring beauty of a choral service within this grand space, it's an option that allows visitors to connect with the cathedral in a profoundly personal way. St. Paul's Cathedral isn't just a tourist attraction; it's a place of worship, a living testament to history, and a symbol of resilience. It survived the Great Fire of London and stood strong during World War II, becoming a symbol of hope and endurance for Londoners. In conclusion, a visit to St. Paul's Cathedral is a journey through time, art, and spirituality. Its architecture, history, and the inclusive offerings, including guided tours and free services, make it an unmissable experience for anyone visiting London. It's a place where the past and present intertwine, and where the human spirit soars along with the dome's heights.

Amazing architectural and visual wonder. London’s most beautiful and historically significant landmark and highest point of the city. Gallery of various renowned artworks. Has two great bells known as Great Tom and Great Paul. Ascending to the whisper gallery, stone gallery and golden gallery leaves you stunned and awestruck. Audio guided tour makes your experience memorable. Must visit place and highly recommended

Fabulous experience at St Paul’s Cathedral, climbing the 528 steps and enjoying the panoramic views from the very top. There are some very narrow areas of stairs, and lots of small, narrow spiral staircases up to the very top of the dome, so it is not for the faint-hearted! Tickets were good value and also include access into the crypts, with tombs belonging to Sir Christopher Wren, the Duke of Wellington, and Florence Nightingale, amongst others. Booking in advance is advised, though during our visit at 9:30am on a Saturday there were no queues.

A new updated review to follow on from my previous visit a few years ago. This time a fully booked visit, done online and daughter got in free with being 17. Also got a guidebook for £5. Truly spectacular inside and out. The occasional prayer services taking place through the day. Plus a wedding was occurring not long before we went in. No photo or review can truly do it justice. One of, if not THE sight to visit in London. From the statues, dedications and burial spots throughout all the way from the crypt to the dome - it's true history all around you. Religion is only half the story. There is a 'accessible' lift that will take you to the floor of the whispering gallery. After that you're on your own. So you better be ready to work those calf muscles! Although there was such a queue we couldn't get to the Golden Gallery, we were still able to get to the Stone Gallery. And the views proved the climb was worth it. I was easily able to get a free upgrade to an annual pass so we can come again within a year to get right to the top. Think I'll ask about getting the lift part way next time tho 😄

Beautiful. Way more of a church feel than the grave-filled tourist stop of Westminster Abbey. Climb the steps to the top and spend some time. City pass ("go city") got us in instantly with no line. Regular ticket line looked fairly long on boxing day.

A magnificent cathedral with a very long history. Walking into that hall, you feel as if you are surrounded by God's embrace. It is recommended to climb to the stone gallery for a visit, which has more than three hundred steps. However, it is not advised for people with physical difficulties due to the narrow environment and steep stairs, which indeed pose some risks. But when you reach the top, you'll find it incredibly rewarding. So, it is highly recommended to go.

Incredible cathedral. Lived in London almost my whole life and this is the first time that I visited this place and wow, St Paul's blew me away completely! There is so much to see inside and so much history to learn about. The audio guide was fantastic and very informative. The climb up to the upper galleries was challenging, but absolutely worth it for the views over London. Two hours simply flew by whilst I was here. St Paul's truly is one of the greatest cathedrals I have ever visited.

Absolutely massive inside. The line was very long at opening but moved quite fast. Art and architecture was awesome. We saw the 12:30 service and it was nice but I couldn't hear a thing. I was in the front row just to the side and I couldn't hear. They really need better speakers or something. Recommend going to the top but be warned it is a very long way and is quite tight at spots. Also is quite low at spots. Amazing view if you can climb it though.

Stunning, breathtaking, glorious in all its historical and religious architecture. £23 to get in...ouch but the ticket is open for a year and I can return again at no extra cost. To be honest, its well worth it. The Whispering Gallery was closed but we managed all 528 steps up to The Golden Gallery. This was no small feat. Winding steps and narrow corridors seemingly going on forever but WOW when you get to the top the panoramic view of London is just magnificent and well worth the effort. Would highly recommend!

What an amazing landmark St Paul is.the team are helpful and welcoming. Inside is spectacular, both is the scale and the beauty of the building. The crypt is vast so much history the see and read about down there. If you have a head for heights, taking the stairs up to the Whispering Gallery, the Stone Gallery and the Golden Gallery offer fabulous views over the cathedral and the city.

From the awe-inspiring interior of the cathedral to the outstanding view of London, St. Paul’s Cathedral is a fascinating destination to visit and learn more about the history of the cathedral and the city of London. If you plan to walk up to the top of the cathedral, know that it might take about an hour (though probably less) to ascend the various spiral and metal stairs, take in the view, and then climb back down. Try to plan ahead and buy your tickets before visiting the cathedral. For the most accurate and up to date information, visit the official website for St. Paul's Cathedral. It provides helpful information regarding tickets, such as that Online Advance Tickets are cheaper than Walk-Up Tickets.

Just a walk across from the Tate Modern and on Millennium Bridge, you'll find St. Paul's Cathedral. This place is absolutely breathtaking. You do require to buy tickets before going inside. They're only £17.00 (approx $22). There's so much architecture and history to look at and take pictures of. You'll want to spend at least 2 hours.

Massive inside and out! Because of its size, it wasn’t crowded at all. We have already been to several cathedrals during our trip but St Paul’s is different. I wish the whispering gallery had been open, but I had to settle for the golden gallery if you can even call that settling! The views from the top levels are absolutely spectacular and the church is great. Staff was helpful, too. I would definitely recommend that you come here if you have time!

The entrance fees for cathedrals and churches in London are not cheap, but St Paul’s is definitely a good one to visit! The outdoor area is so beautiful on a sunny day, and the interior is exquisite. Many beautiful artwork in display, including a Henry Moore sculpture and a Christopher Wren exhibit. The dome is magnificent but photography is not allowed. City view from the top is also great but oh it is a climb!

An absolutely fantastic way to spend a couple of hours in London. My son and i climbed the full 578 steps to the top dome. *NB, Be prepared for a fairly tough climb, lots of steps, tight corridors and metal spiral staircases. The view at the top is well worth the climb. An absolutely breathtaking, panoramic view of London. A must see!

Every reason the world holds this place in awe is what I saw, touched, and drew into me. What a fantastic place to visit. I was there hours and still had not seen all that I desired to. An impressive building with great European importance and elegance.

St Paul’s Cathedral has a rich and tumultuous history. Its most notable and distinguishing feature is the enormous dome, the second largest cathedral dome in the world, standing at such high. It is unusual among cathedrals in that there is a crypt, the largest in Europe.Half the space of the crypt is taken up by massive piers which spread the weight of the much slimmer piers of the church above. Even you can have your breakfast here also. It is definitely worth visiting!

Beautiful cathedral with rich history. Be prepared to be immersed in a self reflective experience, while also contemplating historic events. Your ticket can be booked online and it comes with an audio guide set, which takes you through the history of the cathedral. You need to visit on a weekend if you want to climb up to both the stone and the golden gallery. The whispering gallery is still closed due to safety precautions. There is a lift but it takes you down to the crypt. Thus, you need to climb up around 500 stairs up to the galleries. The steps become pretty narrow the higher you go. Photos without flash are allowed. There are toilets and a water station to refill your bottle. They are next to the shop. You can easily spend 4 hours if you take time to listen to the entire audio guide and enjoy wandering around the cathedral. You can only go around the galleries once, so make sure to enjoy the view while you can. You will absolutely love the experience!

We were so glad that we got the chance to visit the Cathedral and learn its history. I would recommend taking the audio tour. We were able to get to the top, but be advised you need to climb 528 staircase to get really nice photos. Don’t forget to ask about Harry Potter spiral staircase 😉 and they will provide you a lot information about it.

The cathedral is amazing. Tons of history inside the crypts. Also, a great tribute to the soldiers lost in WWII inside. The walk to the top is hard. Lots of steep steps and narrow halls. There are two different levels of the upper level There is no handicap access to the top. If you can make it to the top, the views are amazing. There is also a little window at the top that looks down on the cathedral floor. It takes at least an hour to get to the top and back down. It takes about 2.5 hours to get through including the hike to the top.

We only saw the outside and even that was breathtaking! Photographs could never do it justice, its grandeur is a must-see! Takes about 10 minutes to walk around but I will remember its beauty for a lifetime. The front doors are enormous and the attention to detail on the columns is wonderful. The gardens are well kept and open to the public. It costs £21 to go in (2022).

Fantastic place to visit, a beautiful cathedral to explore, and a large crypt where Christopher Wren's tomb and many others are buried. Then you can climb 528 steps up to the Whispering Gallery and the up to the Stone Gallery where you can see panoramic views of London. If you are brave enough to climb the spiral staircase up through the actual Dome up to the Golden Gallery.

I really enjoyed the visit (it was quite curious to ask for an audio guide in Spanish, and being answered in Spanish too!). The place is inmense, and be prepared to do some exercise, because if you wanna fully explore the cathedral, you should visit the dome and all the terraces (more than 500 steps up).

One of the most beautiful landmarks and most recognisable this city has to offer. Giving u stunning view on a bright sunny day n evening. It was rebuilt after Great Fire Of London. Cathedral is open to public to view inside. Entry charges for guided tour r £20 for adult n free on Sunday for service. Even u can’t see everything on Sunday but still worth to visit for for great inspiring art work. One of the most photographed building and location in London. U can get 360 view of city London from the top or get the best view of the Tomb from the roof of One New Change shopping centre next to it. Love to catch it’s Tomb pic from the Millennium Bridge.

Beautiful bit of British history. Get the headphone tour that is included in the price as it makes it so much more enjoyable. If you are able to get the 528 steps to the top of the cathedral for amazing views of the area. It can be quite narrow in places and a little daunting if you're scared of heights but it's well worth it. Staff here are so helpful and very knowledgeable about it all so don't be afraid to approach them.

Mosaics, chapels, and High Altar grace St Paul's Cathedral sacred space and showcase Baroque brilliance. The Whispering Gallery, 257 steps inside the dome, where whisper can be heard even on the opposite side, along the wall, offers spectacular views of the nave below. The external Stone and Golden galleries, allow you to step outside to experience London's skyline and appreciate the architectural mastery of Sir Christopher Wren while taking in the beauty of London from above. The Crypt houses memorials of notable figures, and the Dome, draws the eyes to heaven.

For more than 1,400 years, a Cathedral dedicated to St Paul has stood at the highest point in the City. Frequently at the centre of national events, traditions have been observed here and radical new ideas have found expression under the iconic dome. In many cases these events have left some physical record as well as echoes in the intangible memory of the building. The present Cathedral, the masterpiece of Britain's most famous architect Sir Christopher Wren, is at least the fourth to have stood on the site. It was built between 1675 and 1710, after its predecessor was destroyed in the Great Fire of London, and services began in 1697. This was the first Cathedral to be built after the English Reformation in the sixteenth-century, when Henry VIII removed the Church of England from the jurisdiction of the Pope and the Crown took control of the life of the church.

The cathedral has an important place within the psyche of many Londoners and it is a great place to visit. It is quite expensive but they do have to fund the upkeep. The view down the nave with the great ceiling decoration is worth getting in early for. There is access to the upper levels via a spiral staircase and you can tour the outside although the inner whispering gallery is currently closed. After the first morning service that finished at 09:00 the organist continued to play for another half hour and that sounded fantastic.

Just beautiful! We purchased the London Pass two day experience and got free entry to the cathedral. They have an audio tour for no extra money. You get to do a self paced tour and learn about the different aspects of the cathedral. The galleries are a must but only if you are NOT claustrophobic and can physically walk several HUNDRED stairs. I didn’t read the sign and had a bit of an attack on the way up to the stone gallery and at a certain point you are not able to turn around. I eventually made it but did not proceed to the highest point. My husband said it was an amazing view but way too narrow for me to ever make it up. This is a must see when in London, learning the history.

This was stunning! Personally I preferred this to Westminster Abbey if you only have time to go to one, go to this one. Climbing to the top of the dome was really cool too getting unobstructed views across London. If you choose to go up the dome do be aware that it’s a lot of steps and does get narrow and steep in places but there are places you can rest and let people pass (you go down a different way)

St. Paul's Cathedral, an epitome of British Catholic history and architectural grandeur, deserves every accolade. Its rich history intertwines with the tapestry of England's religious narrative, providing a vivid portrayal of the country's Catholic legacy. The awe-inspiring edifice stands as a testament to the craftsmanship and vision of its creators, showcasing intricate details and breathtaking design. Visitors are greeted with a stunning portrayal of artistry and spirituality as they traverse the accessible pathways through two of the three levels. While the uppermost level might pose challenges for wheelchair users, the remaining tiers offer an enriching experience for all. Encouraging everyone to explore this cultural gem, St. Paul's Cathedral beckons individuals to immerse themselves in its historical significance and admire the splendor of its architecture. It stands not only as a place of worship but also as a symbol of perseverance and beauty, inviting all to witness the magnificence that defines both British Catholic history and architectural brilliance.

The stone gallery is still accessible for great views of the City, although you can't currently ascend to the Dome, and the Crypt is a must-see, the final resting place of many of our most famous people. Visit while London’s quite and foreign tourism is minimal 👍 We visited London over the early May bank holiday and the city was amazingly quite. Making it the perfect time to visit some of the more touristy places, St. Paul’s one of the top of the list. Booking online is easy and then checking in was simple too. Due to its size there is loads of space inside and didn’t feel busy at all; even up on the viewing points they were very quite. It’s a beautiful and interesting cathedral, nearly unmarked from the disaster left by WW2 and remains an amazing historic building worth a visit when in the capital.

The main hall is stunningly beautiful. Roof decorations, wall statues, and marble structures. The whole atmosphere is zen and spiritual. They could have done a better work informing the public about the climb to the top. It was extremely exhausting and would warn any person with a heart, asthma, or claustrophobic against doing it. If you still do the climb to the top, you will end up in two different levels. The first one doesn't offer a great view. You must wait in line to climb again to the top super narrow level. Only then you'll have a great 360 degrees view of London.

We had a fantastic tour with Leslie on Friday at this splendid building. I'm still in awe of it..we were staying at the Leonardo hotel across the road and had a spectacular view of it from our room.. I could absorb the detail and the fine architecture in all natural light...early morning, late at night..utterly glorious! One thing (my fault)..I was wearing heels... so if you intend to climb to the top, come prepared... I lagged about 20 minutes behind my partner , but wasn't going to miss the amazing views of London. I could even see the spire of St Mary's Church on Harrow on The Hill from St Paul's towards the Wembley arch. Breathtaking!

The cathedral is as beautiful as you would expect for a European church from the 17th century. It is adorned with art and sculptures that are obviously well taken care of. I am not Christian but their service was still worth staying for. If you are willing to pay to enter, I would say it is well worth the cost and the money goes into upkeep.

I was awe-inspired when I laid my eyes on St Paul's Cathedral. It's one of the iconic landmarks in England. One simply can't miss if you're in London for the first time. The scale of the cathedral is a match for the intricacy of the stonework. Wherever one looks, there is something new to behold. Mind you, the entrance fee is quite steep.

What a memorable visit it was, massive building. I was there 10 days ago (31-March-2023) St. Paul's Cathedral is an absolute marvel in the heart of London, designed by the genius Sir Christopher Wren and completed in 1710. Every time I see its majestic dome and intricate carvings, I am left in awe. This iconic cathedral has witnessed some of the most significant events in British history, including the funerals of Sir Winston Churchill and Margaret Thatcher and the wedding of Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer. The beauty of its Baroque architecture, stunning mosaics, and breathtaking Whispering Gallery are nothing short of awe-inspiring. What an inspiring place where worship meets grandiose architecture. If you are religious, you will definitely feel the Holy Spirit, if not you will surely feel peace looking at how much work and faith were put in that building. You can even access the galleries which grant you access to outstanding views ! London is already a beautiful city but from the top of St Paul’s Cathedral on a funny you feel like London belongs to you and is just ready for you to explore it.

Beautiful church. A little expensive compared to similar area attractions but well worth the price of admission. The climb to the top requires many steps and some narrow halls but provides a great view of the city.

An architectural utopia. Merely stopping by to immerse yourself in the depths of its beauty and take photos is well worth it. Additionally, the inside is breathtaking as well, and taking the stairs to the top of the dome provides an outstanding view of the city. Don’t miss this spot on your visit to London!

St. Paul's Cathedral in London is an architectural masterpiece that never fails to impress. Its iconic dome dominates the city's skyline and serves as a symbol of resilience and grandeur. Stepping inside, you're immediately struck by the cathedral's immense beauty and intricate details. The whispering gallery is a unique experience, where whispers are magically carried around the dome. Climb to the top of the dome for a panoramic view of London that is truly breathtaking. The knowledgeable guides provide fascinating insights into the cathedral's history and significance. One of the most spectacular churches in the world. Make sure to visit the crypt and go up to the Whispering Gallery. The view from the Stone Gallery is breathtaking so is the view from the Golden Gallery, although if you have fear of heights I wouldn't exactly recommend it.

First time I been to At Paul's was in early 2000s and feel always fortunate every time the get an opportunity to visit. It is the most serene place where I find peace. It is a an architectural wonder and a magnificent vintage structure for us to learn. Bless to be here always, must see when you visit the city

It is my favourite cathedral in London. The building we see nowadays is, at least, the fourth one built in this site. It was built after its predecessor was destroyed in the Great Fire of London, in 1666. But its dedication to Paul the Apostle dates back to the original church located in this site. It is the cathedral of the Bishop of London, so the most important in the city. It is really beautiful both inside and outside.

We booked in for 2 pm. Bag search on entry as well as hand sanitiser had to be used. No queue & got in within a minute. Have to wear facemasks inside. But wow I was speechless on how beautiful St Paul's cathedral is. Included in entry is a hand set & head set u can select different areas of the church to get an audio & video tour. Nice small bite size videos u could listen to or watch at your own pace. There was no service while we were there. The cathedral is huge & we were there a couple hours. We walked around the ground floor, stunning floors, statues, wood carvings, marble statues, decoration, ceilings, paintings ur spoilt for choice on what to look at. You can take photos everywhere but not if a service is happening. We walked up the stairs to the stone gallery, it's 272 very small & steep steps (see pics) up so not suitable for everyone but amazing views over London if you can manage the steps. Stairs were one way so easy to socially distance. Wasn't that busy while we were there. The golden gallery wasn't open. Also visited the crypt downstairs, saw the memorial for Florence nightingale (she is not buried there), visited the grave for Horatio Nelson, Duke of Wellington as well as other famous people & theres a gift shop on exit. If your visiting London or live here worth a couple hours of your time just stunning architecture decoration & so glad I went

Absolutely stunning!! Services still running, but walk through closed in tier 3. Was lucky enough to walk through in last day of tier 2 and was amazed! So much history, so many stories, and the grand scale of the architecture alone is incredible with amazing 360 views of London above. Be sure to engage in conversations with the staff. They’re super friendly and insightful.

Absolutely in awe of this stunning cathedral. Never seen a more beautiful or colourful mosaic masterpiece in a cathedral in the United Kingdom. The hike to the top of the dome is well worth the view on a sunny day. Would highly recommend and glad I got an annual ticket. Make sure you check the tour times for the Geometric Staircase, as this isn't open all the time. ☺️

St. Paul’s Cathedral, London St. Paul’s Cathedral located in London is one of the most iconic buildings in the world and was designed by the English Architect Sir Christopher Wren. After taking nearly ten years to finalize the design of the cathedral, the actual construction finally started in the year 1668 and was finished nearly 40 years later. The St. Paul’s Cathedral has ever since played a domineering part of London’s skyline and also served as a center for tourism and religious worship.

Most famous of the British Cathedrals, destroyed in the Great Fire of London and then rebuilt from 1675. The architect, Sir Christopher Wren is buried tn the crypt During the blitz in WW2, it was saved destruction by dilligent fire watchers, google for full history I walked up the 277 steps to the viewing gallery, amazing views across London, and went to the crypt, so many of our nations heroes buried there. Many memorials to be seen as you walk round, tributes to the fallen during our many conquests around the world in colonial times, and the World Wars.

(Translated by Google) Even without having set foot among its marvelous naves, simply admiring it from the outside, it is easy to understand why St. Paul's Cathedral is so famous and celebrated: its composed classical forms, its mighty dome, its harmonious colonnade contribute to forming a whole of incomparable spectacularity. Masterpiece of the great architect Christopher Wren and built between the late seventeenth and early eighteenth centuries, the cathedral is a must for anyone visiting London, even if access requires the payment of a not exactly cheap ticket. St. Paul's Cathedral is one of the major cathedrals in the world. It is the Anglican seat of the Bishop of London. It is the 21st largest church in the world in terms of its 7,875 square meters, but in terms of its cubic volume of 150,000 cubic meters, It is the 17th largest in the world. It looks and feels like a church because it is not packed with historical monuments like Westminster Abbey, which is the 53rd largest church in the world. St. Paul's Cathedral is over 350 years old. The site has hosted a St. Paul church since 604 AD. In 1087 AD, London started building a cathedral, which was completed in 1314 AD. The London fire in 1666 AD destroyed it and they built the current cathedral in its place. It was designed by  Christopher Wren in the Baroque style, and was built in the style of St. Peter's church in Rome, which was completed in 1626 -- 51 years before construction of St. Paul's cathedral began. My favorite part of St. Paul's Cathedral is its chapel for the Americans stationed in the UK during WW2 who gave their lives in defense of Great Britain. It contains a book that has the name of each of these Americans. This chapel is located at the head of the Cathedral behind the alter. Its carvings and stained glass windows depict American animals and symbols. One panel contains a space rocket and stars because the US space program was at its peak when the chapel was completed. My wife and I visited St. Paul's today. We were able to join one of free tours they offered. The tour should have been better. I would recommend the included interactive tour on the tablet instead of a live tour, but perhaps my guide was an exception. Compared to Westminster, St. Paul's Cathedral has a small fraction of historical artifacts. Its only impressive monument is one for Duke Wellington. But as a church, St. Paul's Cathedral surpasses Westmister Abbey. After the tour we stayed for the 5 PM service, which was a Mass celebrating Mary, the mother of Jesus. The service was my absolute favorite part of the visit. The choir sang a beautiful Latin mass in the Renaissance style by Pierre de la Rue, who was a Belgium composer who lived from 1452-1518. The choir and organ were magnificent. The building's reverberation is tremendous. The 15 voice choir sounded like 50 voices. The organ sound ranged from delicate to overwhelming. When the music stops, the building keeps the sound going for another 11 seconds. This greatly magnifies every sound. The service was uplifting and moving. The church invites people of all faiths to participate. I felt welcome and comfortable even though I do not belong the the Anglican tradition (which is very similar to the Catholic tradition). I highly recommend attending a service as long you don't bring children because they would not enjoy it and the smallest noise becomes very disruptive.

A stupendous cathedral. This iconic building is awe inspiring in terms of its gigantic proportions. Don't forget to look up at the ceilings!. Go up the dome if you're fit enough. A mere lung sapping 528 steps gives you a beautiful view over London 360 degrees. Alot easier coming back down. I was disappointed the famous Whispering Gallery was closed. Maybe next time. Amazing experience! Cheaper to book online than at the door. Over 500 steps to the top viewing gallery, some very tight and narrow stair ways so not ideal if you're very claustrophobic, but the view at the top is worth it and there are members of staff stationed at various points on the way up. Lovely little shop with some very reasonably priced gifts, was happily surprised that a small model of the cathedral was only £2. Easily accessible toilets and a free audio/video guide console is available which is well worth grabbing one, even if only to watch the videos on the particular areas you are interested in!

Very nice gesture from the security staff to give us a key to accessible lifts since we were with small kids and a stroller. I had imagined it to be huge architectural building however one cannot stop from being awestruck once you actually visit this place. It is humongous! It is simply amazing to see vast open spaces under a roof. While it is not just a huge in size but also intricately decorated from all corners Do consider taking a free guided tour inside. While visiting at the top gives spectacular view of London skyline, a word of Caio if you are visiting with small kids - keep an eye on them while going up since the railing are not childproof Do keep some time to visit the crypt to see the huge stone grave of Wellington

Going to St Paul's Cathedral is an absolutely amazing experience. It remains a very spiritual place and almost an oasis in the busy commercial city. The highlight was climbing to the top of the dome. It is a long way and not for the faint hearted. The view is stunning with very kind members of staff will to take family pictures. This really added the final touch to the visit and provide a memory that we can all treasure. Again, thank you for that.

This church compares to St Peter’s in Rome in its grandeur and beauty. There are wonderful audio guides that give great background on every part of the cathedral. Highly recommend making the climb all the way up to the Golden Gallery - it’s 500+ steps but very doable with places to stop and stairs that are evenly spaced. The view is incredible.

This really depends on what you want to get out of an experience. From a purely tourist perspective St Paul’s is an iconic grand building of majestic views and Historic value. Be sure to take the walk to the grand Dome as it is worthwhile if not just for the views of the city. In short it should be a must do on anyones London tour list.

This National treasure is absolutely stunning! It is a must-see while in London. I recommend the climb up to the top of the dome for absolutely amazing 360 degree views of London. That being said the climb is a steep 528 steps to the top. It is not easy and most of the climb is single file with some tight passages. Keep this in mind because once you start there isn't really any place to turn around and go back. The staff was helpful and courteous. They have a free audio tour with paid admission. The gift shop was also a pleasant experience with lots of neat souvenirs and plenty of room to shop around without out bumping against other people.

If you like architecture, beauty and history don't miss this place. Photos say it all. However the very top floor is only accessible by a very narrow winding metal staircase and it is not comfortable at the top as the floor slants to the edge... The view from the top is however unique!

St. Paul's Cathedral, a London landmark, is a magnificent testament to architectural brilliance. Its iconic dome, towering over the city, is a sight to behold. The cathedral's intricate design, adorned with ornate carvings and intricate mosaics, showcases the skill and craftsmanship of its creators. Stepping inside, one is greeted with a sense of tranquility and awe-inspiring beauty. The whispering gallery and the breathtaking views from the Golden Gallery offer unique perspectives of the city. The cathedral's historical significance and role in national events add layers of meaning to its grandeur. St. Paul's Cathedral is an absolute must-visit for anyone seeking to immerse themselves in history and marvel at architectural wonders.

One of the most popular attractions in London. This old cathedral is located in the heart of the city, well maintained is very Beautiful inside and outside both. History of this cathedral will take you back 1000 years of British heritage. Entry fee is pretty high (per person £23) but if you are travelling by national rain, you can avail “2 for 1” offer, which will give you entry of two person in one’s fare. If you are fit enough, you can climb to the top of the cathedral by climbing 528steps 😅 only! But once you reach at the top, the view is mesmerising😍. So, try to climb those steps to see the London from Birds Eye 😍 Highly recommended 👍

I had a choice of either visiting Westminster Abbey or St. Paul's, as there was not enough time for both during our visit. After some contemplation, and figuring that Westminster would likely be more crowded than usual so shortly after the Coronation, I settled on St. Paul's. It had been at least 15 years or so since I had last visited, so it seemed a good time to go back - and it was certainly a good choice! Nowadays, at places like this, one has to contend with security checks, which is a sad sign of our time. But fortunately the process was quick and efficient. Once inside, I was reminded of the sheer magnificence of the cathedral. Admission prices are - unsurprisingly - a lot higher than last time I visited, but it's definitely worth it. At least half of our time was devoted to climbing up the Dome, for what is undoubtedly one of the best view over London. Definitely worth the effort of climbing the stairs!

  • 5/5 Katharine D. 8 months ago on Google
Absolutely glorious. Use the audio guide to get wonderful info about the space, and even some opportunities for quiet reflection. Crowds were lighter here (compared to Westminster) so I got to fully enjoy myself and the cathedral. The climb to the top is no joke!! But worth it if you can manage it.

Visited 10 AM on a weekday, no lines, comfortable number of visitors. I recommend climbing up to the top right away, before everyone else decides to do so as well, the gallery at the very top is quite small and narrow. As it was still early, we took our time enjoying the amazing view, taking as many pictures as we wanted. Be aware that going down the 528 steps is much harder on your knees than going up. We rested in the main area of the cathedral, enjoying the beautiful architecture and the variety of visitors then took a stroll around as well as down to the crypt, where the restrooms are located. All staff was helpful and courteous whenever we approached them with a question.

Magnificent Cathedral, a must visit place in London. Had a really good and peaceful time inside the cathedral. I also enjoyed its tremendous architecture, as being an architect and town planner I enjoy visiting places / buildings having historical & monumental importance. Though, this place can be visited by anyone and I believe that anybody visiting the cathedral will fall in love with the place. Do visit the cathedral and create good memories in London.

Exquisite inside and out! Wonderful to see Sir Christopher Wren’s masterpiece up close. While not original to his design, the mosaics in the choir and alter are stunning. It was extremely moving to see the American Memorial Chapel as well. We didn’t climb the dome this time, but look forward to that on our next visit. Lovely gift shop in the basement. You can also order online and pick up on site.

Stunning. I would recommend climbing to the dome if you can! it is a TON of stairs, but we went close to sunset and it was so memorable. The whole cathedral is beautiful and you can feel the centuries of prayer and worship. They have a moment of silence/prayer every hour which is such a cool experience

Always book tickets or use passes to visit the famous scenic spots/tourist spots in London. Lucky that we did so. Save much time and money too! The Cathedral is definitely a must-visit item. The interactive electronic guide is very useful and informative, which helps you to delve into the history and artwork and everything you want to know about the Cathedral and the view of the catholics.

The full British history experience. Well run, helpful friendly staff, good facilities. If you plan to take the steps up to the dome, you need a little fitness and stamina, it's not an easy climb.

Absolutely beautiful experience! I went mid-morning on a weekday and it wasn’t too crowded. You are able to walk freely around the cathedral (permitted areas of course) but paid guided tours are available. If you wish to see the top of the dome be prepared to walk up many spiraling steps. Lifts were available for special cases but it seemed mostly for elderly and families with prams. In any case the lift was very small. So be cautioned if you have issues with small spaces and heights. I highly recommend the crypt and artists corner.
