I've been a regular at Mawlana since it's opening. It's been a consistent choice for my dining needs as usually eat only Halal food. The ambiance is pleasant and calm, and the menu offers a decent variety of Egyptian dishes. While it may not be a standout in terms of culinary innovation, it's a reliable spot for a satisfying meal. The service is really good, and the prices are reasonable for what you get. Overall, it's a dependable option for those looking to enjoy Egyptian cuisine without any major surprises. Definitely recommended. P.S. The owner is very chill btw.

Today I visited this place for the first time. Two years ago I ordered delivery and I thought it is the same. But today it was a huge disappointment. My friend advised me to order shawarma with beef extra, she said it's perfect. She said that it's not spicy. But I have a real problem with spicy food. My stomach explodes and have heavy stomachache because of it. That's why I asked waitress that I need not spicy one. No chilli, no pepper, nothing. As always in Vietnam she said okok. I could eat only a half of it. My mouth was burning and I even couldn't taste the meat. It was not delicious at all. Small size, very spicy beef inside, little tomatoes and onion, pinch of potato. We were waiting for our order about 20 minutes. We were alone there, but one more person. After I asked them why it's so spicy, waitress said she told chef not to make it spicy. 🤷🏻‍♀️ But it was. So she asked if I want another one, but I said that I don't have time for waiting a new one. They even didn't give me a discount, but they saw that I didn't eat it, even a half. But the tea with milk was adorable. And when i asked for the bill and put money inside and brought them to the bar, they even didn't look at it, so I was waiting and waiting for my change. Then I came to the cashier and asked for it. Yes. They are just little nothings of life. But I have no wish to come back 😐 bad service, bad food.

The owner was polite and tentative. Everything was cooked very well. Decent pricing. Extremely hard to get to due to road renovations, no parking nearby. We asked for water with lemon juice and mint and they threw the entire lemon with the rind into the blender. We asked for a replacement because the rind made it un-drinkable but received the same thing twice.

A new Egyptian restaurant in town with variety of Egyptian and middle eastern dishes. My personal favorite was kochari and alexandrian kebda. This black liver dish is seasoned soooo delicious 😍

A great little restaurant in Hanoi for a taste of Egypt! The space is great, with Egyptian music playing on the speakers and art depicting ancient Egyptian Pharaohs and modern Pharaohs (Mo Salah) on the walls. The staff are welcoming, service is quick and the food was fresh and tasty. The koshary is a must have for those wanting to try out a staple Egyptian dish! Make sure to ask for extra red sauce.

A delicious middle-eastern food, with fresh ingredients and more important it is on of HALAL food you can found in Hanoi, Vietnam l, .... waiiiit, if you're fans of M. Salah, soccer player's, you should try to take some photos inside the restaurant 😁, cheers...

After waiting 1 hour for our food to be served, we expected something special; it turned out that the staff just forgot about our order. Food was served cold and totally tasteless. The meat on the meat platter was plain and bland to say the least, seemingly not even marinated. Drinks were very bland and boring too. Staff seemed uninterested in how we felt about the food, guy serving was sitting on his phone. Nice decorations, but disappointed about the food. Not a good experience, will not be coming again.

Ambiance is casual, but clean and feels genuinely aligned to the Egyptian origins of the food. Service is nice and timely, organised and polite, especially for a casual place. Ground floor has around 6 tables. The food was tasty, hot for cooked foods. Notably the salad items were crunchy and fresh. The accompanying sauses were tasty and seemed made on premise. Bread is delicious and fresh. The beef was tender in the kebab. Priced reasonably for the food quality and ambiance, definitely a good place to try for a change or perhaps the only Egyptian in Hanoi (not sure on this point)

We went here because of the positive reviews. We must of came on a bad day. The owner was not happy at all - zero effort with customer service and he looked angry. The food was good. However we had a chicken dish where the flavor was very nice…but hardly any chicken. It was full of those deep fried flour chips, which look like chicken. No one checked on us. We wanted to order dessert…but no one came to the table. After waiting 15 mins we decided to leave. Anyway…as I said, maybe it was a bad day. On a positive note, the prices are very reasonable.

I’m a vegetarian and have been ordering the falafel wrap most days on Grab and the food is so fresh and tastes healthy and homemade. I have had veggie wraps from many places and this is the best. Also good portion size. Highly recommend. The delivery time is always very quick.

I only came here once but I was a little disappointed with the hummus & falafel. I did have high expectations though, maybe that was the problem 😅 Hummus & falafel tasted kind of bland, pita bread was fine. My husband enjoyed his food and my young daughter really liked the soup. Would come back again but I'm not in a hurry.

Interesting dine in place, thanks for the recommendation of the owner we have lamb cooked with rice and its really tasty! Not really a fan of french fries but other than that its a good experience. Nice decor.

Waited for more than an hour for tasteless food. Definitely a never again experience. Staff weren't sorry at all! It was as if to wait for an hour for bland and cold food is okay. When we got the bill and told them that we didn't get the rice, the guy was acting like we were lying 🤨 Like seriously! 😒 Totally disappointing, would not reccommend.

I was trying Egyptian Cuisine for the first time and hence was bit skeptical about our decision however the first bite into the food made us realize that we made a correct choice. Nice music, tasty food, great hospitality and as a pet parent an added advantage for us was that they allowed pet as well (of course you need to ensure sanity of the place and your pet should not bother other guests). In our case, brownie is well behaved and hence we had a nice evening with great food. Owner/Manager and the entire staff was helpful and welcoming. Thank you Al Sultan team.

i started writing a long review. lets just say that there's a lot to be desired... bland food, poor wait staff... only good thing was a cool mural on the walls.

Honestly I don’t even know where to begin, our dining experience here was a mess from start to finish. To begin, the server took our orders, left us for 20 minutes, then came back to ask us what we had ordered. 20 minutes waiting and they hadn’t even started making the food (mind you there were only 2 other occupied tables in the restaurant). After confirming, the server comes out with my food about 30 minutes after we first sat down, and brings my partner the wrong dish (despite having reconfirmed it). Taking the dish back, he comes back to our table about 10 minutes later to confirm (for a second time) what my boyfriend had ordered, and points to the dish on the menu he had just accidentally brought us. After confirming AGAIN, 5 minutes or so pass and then another staff member comes out to confirm what we’d ordered, and he was STILL under the impression that it was the incorrect dish that we had ordered. After 4 times confirming that we’d ordered a sandwich and not the fatteh, my boyfriend finally got his food. At this point my food is ice cold from the ridiculously powerful AC in the restaurant. To top it all off, they then tried to charge me for the incorrect dish instead of the correct one, which was half the price. I can honestly not remember a more lacklustre experience in a restaurant. It’s a complete breakdown in communication between the staff, the food is meh at best, and the atmosphere is incredibly tacky. I wouldn’t set foot in this restaurant again if I were paid to.
