The wife and I met with Jim for about forty-five minutes on a Monday night after work. Jim educated us on what the grading companies look for when it comes to cleaned coins. Jim went through about a dozen coins we brought from our collection and pointed out the strong and weak points of each coin. We had been trading emails for a week or so and Jim knew what coins we were looking for. He brought in a complete collection for us to look through. We ended up buying five coins that night and was charged a fair price.

My wife Gayle and I recently spent a fascinating 90 minutes with Jim Morgan (aka The Coinologist). My wife was gifted a large collection of coins from a relative, and we needed professional help to evaluate their worth. These coins ranged from some interesting Morgan silver dollars to "spare change" and everything in between. I would strongly urge anyone with potentially valuable coins to have someone like Jim evaluate them rather than taking them to a pawn shop. Also, the Coinologist website has excellent links to steer you in the right direction for identifying and valuing coinage.
