While this is a negative review, not everything is bad. The staff at check-in and the following morning were competent and responsive. The location, very close to I70 was convenient as was a Meier store, decent Mexican place and several gas stations. So the worst part was the room. While the hotel was claimed as being completely non-smoking, the room definitely smelled of cigarette smoke. (There were several guests smoking adjacent to the entrance which negates a non-smoking property if guests want to avoid smoke!) Also disturbing was the presence of insects in the bed I was sleeping in and on the nightstand. These appeared to be ants and a small black beetle. (I checked for bedbugs before checking into the room and there was no evidence of an infestation.) Also disturbing was a faint, rotten aroma I thought might be coming from under my bed. (My husband reported no insects in his bed or any scents.) This was not the smell of the mold in the bathroom. Lastly, the prices you see on Google for these hotels are inaccurate. Even after joining their loyalty program, the rates are always far lower than reality. Re: the loyalty program, I could not review this hotel in the system because after 3 separate calls, my email address was incorrect and they still have an incorrect first name.

The hotel is amazing! My family and I stay in a lot of hotels (expensive) ones. This red roof inn was way beyond our expectations. Very clean,spacious and an amazing staff led by an outstanding management team. THANK YOU RED ROOF INN, RICHMOND, INDIANA

Upon entering we noticed the carpets through the lobby to the room upstairs was in need of a good vacuuming! No elevator here! The pool had no water. The room key card had to be reprogrammed multiple times. Not enough parking for the number of rooms. Now for the positive. Location was great for what I needed to do in the area. Bob Evans restaurant across the street. The room appeared to be clean. The mattress was comfortable and the a/c worked good. The price was reasonable for the what you got!

Terrible service. Lady at desk rather play games on her computer. Then charged me 180 dollars. As a musician that gets paid I'm cash, since when do we have to have a $100 deposit for cash only?. No check out after 11. I only get 4 hours of sleep because of the " hospitality" took forever. Thanks. Never going here again

Update: Refund was quick and Corporate reached out, acknowledging the situation. Computer problems at check-in are one thing but the condition of the room indicates it wasn't cleaned, let alone checked by management. Immediately checked out and staff indicated the charge would be refunded. We'll see.

Driving through and needed a place to get some sleep with 3 dogs in tow. Red roof is one of the few that allows more than 2 dogs and doesn’t charge extra. We knew not to expect much for the price, but didn’t want to pay the dog fee at other locations for us to be there for 8 hours. The hallways smell of cigarette smoke and the room itself had a horrible musty smell. There were ants on the table but otherwise, the room was clean enough and the bed comfortable enough for one nights sleep.

You get what you pay for. Rooms are cheap but not bad. My room was clean, no bugs, working TV. Staff was nice and helpful when needed. Really a quiet little motel and I’ll probably stay there again.

This is absolutely the worst service I’ve ever had in a hotel. The night desk lady always has an attitude and when you go to ask for things such as your room cleaned, fresh towels and rags, etc, the answer is always that’s not my job or you have to wait till someone else can assist you. The staff is lazy and the room we are staying in didn’t come with a microwave plate or a shelf in the fridge. I will never be staying here again. If you want a good hotel pick anywhere but here.

Stopped here because we are relocating from PA to Oklahoma and was allowed my pets. This place is filthy. Our first room was never cleaned. Got second room and not too much better. Lamp shade is destroyed pillows all stained with yellow rings No protectors on beds nor pillows. No parking, all mud. Will never be back

Rooms were nice and clean. Beds were comfortable. We had a hard time getting the bolt lock to lock on the door and there were gaps all around it, so noises from the hallway were pretty loud. There was a door in our room connecting the room next to us and it was so loud it's as if the people occupying the room were in OUR room! This room Definitely needs more insulation or new sills around the doors. Overall it was a nice place.

Rooms are gross. I only stayed 1 night. Ants on the nightstand. Gross bedding! The carpet looked like it hadn't been vacuumed ever! I would say this hotel is a flop.
