I am very biased because I'm very interested in Jacksonian Democracy and the era, but I very much wanted to see this statue - one of 4 identical statues. This was as exciting for me as I had anticipated, though I was mildly disappointed that it was in the center of a traffic circle. I didn't want to cross and get closer because it didn't seem like a legal crosswalk. To get good lighting on the front side, go in the afternoon. I went in the morning, around 10:30, and the back was better lit.

Put that thing in a museum to remember one of the many genocidal imperial generals in the history of the US. I cringe so much when people get so excited seeing this blasphemy. He does not represent all peoples so despite being named after him. He shouldn’t be standing in an open public space, he is history and no longer apart of the world, only to those who proudly expresses their supremacy.. So therefore move it to a museum. I’d rather see Harriet Tubman on the $20 banknote promoting the heroism and goodness of those who lived to be free..

This statue is a cool work of art. Lets remember Andrew Jackson as an American President and a hero at the Battle of New Orleans.
