Since Triund top isn't appearing in location history, I'll instead rate the check point and the actual trek. I would've given 10 stars had that rating been there. Located 2850m above sea level, Triund top offers majestic views of the Dhauladhar range. The ascent can be fairly challenging for people with sedentary lifestyle. On an average, it takes 3.5 hours to reach the top where you'll find mountains on three sides and Dharamkot/McLeodganj on the fourth. Don't forget to carry water, heavy and warm clothes, snacks if you're planning to camp overnight. The descent is not easy either, so have to remain cautious with footing. Takes around 2 hours 15 minutes to reach the base point. Spend some time listening to the conversation between clouds and the mammoth mountains (:

Could be better. The instructions are there but it doesn't look like people are following it. No facilities including toilets are provided in the beginning of the trek as well as in the places where people camp. Open defecation is bad for the environment and very soon this trek will become unpopular with people and tourists.

We were here trying to hike the Triund trail on 27 Dec, 2019 but unfortunately the trail was closed due to bad conditions. So we decided to hike the little peak visible from the checkpoint. It turned out to be a great decision. The view was fantastic and there were barely anyone there. So we chilled for a bit before hiking down to Bagsunag waterfall. There is a platform up-top with a little shrine where you can sit down and enjoy the valley views on one side and mountain views on other side. The hike to the platform is ~10mins max. We did hike the main peak which was bit of a scramble (10-15 mins more) to get to the top but the top was dingy with lots of flags, huge electric poles, cables blocking the views and some trash, so we came back to the platform for better views.

Triund is a must visit place in Dharamshala, the trek itself long but relatively easy, I recommend renting walking sticks at the checkpoint as the terrain can be a little difficult to navigate. The views throughout the trek are breathtaking. It is definitely worth the time and effort.

One of the most popular hiking treks in Himachal Pradesh. It starts at 2100m and finishes at 2850m, on Triund campcite, covering about 7 km of the way. The path itself is very good quality, regularly been renovated by local forestry. The difficulty level is very low, everybody can do it in ine day. There are several cafes with water filling points on the way. Areal views on entire Kangra valley are available during good weather.

Trip to Dharmshala,Himachal Pradesh cannot be completed Without Seeing this Serene, Beautiful,Peaceful,Pious and Heavenly place. To reach it one has to trek for 9 km that will take 6-9 hrs to reach. Camping,Food,Bornfire, Watch sunset, Sunrise, stars at night and Snow Capped Mountains. Hire a good guide nd wear good shoes that are must. Too much to say but its just Once In A Lifetime Experience.

Now you need to pay 200 rupees to enter, which was a bummer as we did not know about that (it used to be free prior to December 2023) I hope they would make it cheaper because it is a wonderful spot for hiking and seeing marvellous mountains, with this payment they should provide water points for drinking

Almost 7 kms trekking route is quite impressive but a bit of hard because of the cracked n crashed stones all over the road. On the way I felt the silence of the jungle which consists mainly of Oak, Rhododendron, Deodar and Brown Oak at the top. One of my unforgettable Journey in Himachal Pradesh.

It's a challenging trek and requires proper trekking shoes as the rocks are pointed and flat shoes will hurt. The view above makes the trek worth it. Also there are eating points and camping site at the top.

The Triund Trek is 6KM trek from the check point. The trek is steep. The route is filled with rocks(You can take some shortcuts). During trekking you get a good view of McLeod ganj. The destination is beautiful. You can start two more treaks from here. The view of dhauldhar mountain range is beautiful. P.S Start early morning.

I recently completed this trek and it was absolutely amazing! The trail is quite easy and can be comfortably completed in a day. The views along the way are mesmerizing, but the real highlight is the breathtaking scenery from the top. It’s a perfect trek for anyone looking to enjoy nature without too much effort. Highly recommended! πŸŒ„πŸžοΈ

Place is good nature wise, its the easiest trek, but people who visit here especially on weekends are senseless people , they burst loud music in their speakers and dont care about others presence especially Punjabi people , suggesting everybody to visit on weekdays so it will be less crowded and you can enjoy peaceful nature

πŸ‘πŸ‘ Wonderful place & it was my first trekking experience. I hardly found security personnel anywhere around the place. Some of the area was too thin for trekking (few meters).
