Worth a stop on your way to/from the border. Centuries old ruins, just north of where Haiti declared their independence from the French.

Really nice historic place. Wonderfull in the late afternoon.

I love this place. I rode here from Cap on a motorcycle (moto-taxi). The town is nice, there's a good bakery/cafe near the cathedral, and the views of the bay are superb. There is a nice guardian at the fort named Pierre. He gave me an interesting tour of the fort. Next time I'd like to spend a night or two in Fort Liberte.

A town of very friendly people. This is true Haiti without any tourist traps.
