Really, worst management due to paramedic crisis. In emergency ward thereโ€™s a long waiting and itโ€™s around 12 hours. Does it make any sense to emergency? What if patient is having some serious life related issues? If management is aware about crisis then why they donโ€™t request more team and hire staff so operations work smoothly and patient get treated asap. Think about it. Itโ€™s deep but not impossible

My sister was taken by ambulance from her home to DGH where she was subsequently transferred to the Infirmary. Her condition was quickly diagnosed. Staff was amazing and extremely caring and attentive. Her diagnosis was very scary for us all but after a week she was discharged and is now recovering at home. Thank you to the doctors and nurses of the ICU and Neurology.

I lost my mom Hazel today and want to send out a special thank you to the hospital. In these trying times I heard a lot of negativity with regards to our healthcare. Our families experience was exceptional and so appreciated. The staff at 5.2ICU treated my mother with the utmost dignity and I am so grateful. You the nurses and support staff will always be remembered for your compassion. The most difficult time in my life was made with a very calming feeling thank you for that. The doctors and residents were outstanding and caring and very understanding and a big thank you.

My father arrived at the Halifax Infirmary Emergency on Wednesday morning. Credit to the EMTs who suspected a possible stroke and for their quick actions and transport to the hospital. After being cleared by the cardiac and neuro units at the hospital it was determined he had a bad kidney / bladder infection. I, and my father, cannot say enough about how well he was treated over the next 48 hours. The staff was attentive and went out of their way to keep my father and myself informed every step of the process. My father had arrived at the hospital with no shoes or winter jacket after being transported by ambulance. I was out of country and a snow storm was moving in and it was going to be difficult to bring him clothes and get him transported home. The hospital staff supplied him shoes, a winter jacket, and a taxi chit to get him home. We were amazed at how caring the staff was, the time they spent making sure we were informed, and the steps they took to organize my father's trip home. Thank you to all the staff in emerg!

I experienced a nightmare here a few years ago (pre-pandemic), which I'm finally ready to share. First, I went to emergency with severe abdominal pain, waited six hours just for the doctor to do nothing but suggest antacids. I returned days later with a note coming from my own family doctor, which stated that I needed EMERGENCY SURGERY (as he quickly and accurately diagnosed me). But when I went again to the hospital, the doctor let me writhe in agony for hours while he would periodically enter the room, scratch his head, and conclude that nothing was wrong with me and that it was all in my head. This whole time, I could do nothing but politely and plainly explain my symptoms to him. I was helpless. (And where was the note from my family doc!?) He even smugly suggested that I go home (where I would have died that night). Things got even worse with that particular doctor, and later, some nurses. (Stories that are too long and private to describe here, lasting right to the very end of my time in this funhouse-of-horrors.) I left a couple of days later, miraculously post-surgery, which was like being tossed onto a conveyor chopping block and spat out the other end.

This is the biggest health care center in Atlantic Canada, I had the privilege to work there for two years. No doubt the offer good health care but they are very racist and full of discrimination, lack of professionalism. Long way to go.

They left my father in his hospital room starving for a week or more because they said everyday "We might do a biopsy you can't eat.. nah we aren't gonna do it. Maybe tomorrow". Never did do the biopsy and it turned out he had terminal cancer (few tumours isolated around bile duct and an enlarged lymph node), which they didn't even tell him until days after he had a scan. Sent him home and that was that. Didn't even try to come up with a plan, didn't look into it at all, just said "you've got maybe 3 months". This was September 2020. Still convinced they could've removed part of his liver but you know. Avoid at all possible.

Had an appointment at 8am in orthopaedic clinic , left the infirmary at close to 11 am. Patient who come here be prepared for long waiting times. Keep something to drink and eat handy.Vending machines seems to be broken(some accept 5 and 10 dollar bill ). Staff helpful and kind. Registration at kiosk at Robbie Street entrance mandatory for appointments.

I have not enough good things to say about the Neurology department. (that's the only time I've been there) The care and understanding, talking to me like a human from Doctors, Nurses, Techs... I really can't thank them enough. To hear people complain about them ALL THE TIME, really is uncalled for

So far the experience is wonderful clean, friendly but professionalism is a must. Thank you for taking good care of my Son. Thank you to all the nurses and Drs for making him as comfortable as possible in this difficult time, but their positivities made him feel so much better, a worried mom best wishes, all Gods blessings!

Really bad experience I went in for an injury and they didn't even xray or do anything to look at it. Doctor walked over with no bedside manner, not being gentle or gradual, and said "does it hurt when I do this" and then without warning flexed my foot to its max where the injury was. No slow testing just forcefully flexed it all the way. I had to respond with ow yes it does. He seemed shocked at my response and said well I have to look at it to see. Well yes he does but usually when someone says something hurts you test gradually their abilities so you don't hurt them.

I don't have any complaints about my specific stays but this rating is because something needs to change with this province's healthcare. There's never enough nurses for the amount of people in each section and it results in neglect. I'm fine because I can get up and walk on my own but not everyone can.

There are mice all over the building, cracks and holes in walls. Suited perfectly to the level of care provided by doctors and nurses.

I waited for 14 hours and had to go back untreated. When youโ€™re outside everyone looks so professional and well spoken but soon as you ask them questions they get real mad about it (not all of them). One of them was pretending to check me on their emergency list and was making stuff up to tell me.

I spent 26 days in The Hotel Infirmary....the service was exceptional. The nurses and Doctors were socialable and understanding. The cleaners and kitchen staff were great and helpful. I felt comfortable here with so many wonderful people. I give it 5 ๐ŸŒŸ's ๐Ÿ’–

๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘ Excellent staff! A huge thank you from Toronto to all the staff particularly of the 7th floor for going above and beyond in assisting my mother ( Carol ) after her lumpectomy surgery and for placing her in a room directly in front of the nursing station. They have a room service style food ordering...

๐Ÿ˜ My Dad has been at Camp Hill residence for veterans for a few years. The place is kept clean. Physiotherapy and visits to the neighboring QEII health services for any specialist needs are a bonus over typical long term care homes like those run by Shannex. ๐Ÿ‘ Great hospital with a lot of elevators and many floors. Residents eat a lot of jello. Kiosk based self check in is wonderful. They keep the cold ones in the basement so unless your appointment is on a bottom floor you should be fine. Talk to you doctor about how to access medical blueberries.

๐Ÿ˜  Bad service. A lot of rude ER staff. Felt like having the history of addiction I was judged without being listened to. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘ Cancer is an ugly word and unfortunately it moves very fast. And with me anyway, it seems like there is a constant battle to stay one step ahead as it rears it's ugly head in different places throughout my body every few months. But I would like to say that with all the problems associated with th...
