Ten years ago, I was in college and struggling with wrist pain. No x-rays or doctors’ visits could help with the pain; I could barely grip a blanket and pull it over me. I was desperate and dealing with the pain for three years. When I saw the sign “I Stop Pain,” I figured, “why not try?.” In about four sessions, they eliminated three years of suffering with this unique, wonderful place. Recently I developed pain in both wrists due to a change in my work schedule; the first thing I did was bring myself back to I Stop Pain for another round of treatment. Not only is their service friendly, effective, and caring, but it’s a bit of a therapeutic break from my hectic day and emails. They have soft lighting, calming music, and comfortable rooms where you can lie in peace. I can’t recommend this place enough.

About 5 years ago I ended up spraining the ilio-sacral nerve in my back. It was awful and about a month before my wife and I were to head out for a nice vacation. The pain was sharp and also dull causing me to limp and really not be able to sleep. I went to my chiropractor who helped a bit but the pain persisted. We ended up still going on our vacation but with ice packs, heat packs, ointments, you name it. After about 3-4 days at the resort with me walking around the area with a bag of ice permanently on my back or nearby (10 mins at a time on the back) one of the other guests waved me over. He said he used to have excruciating back pain and he was recommended to go to an authentic Chinese acupuncturist. Not someone who does it after a few weekend courses but an authentic one. It really helped him and confidently recommended I find someone like that. I ended up telling my chiropractor who told me they’re trained in acupuncture and after a few sessions, no further ahead. With the golf season looming and me thinking I wouldn’t be able to play that year, and my chiropractor heading out on vacation, I was desperate. I had driven by ”I Stop Pain” but never gave it much thought until I googled acupuncture for Halifax. There they were. Authentic and it turned out a god send. I visited their clinic, had an assessment with Vivian and then a treatment. That day I felt so good I went for a run. Well. That was too soon and I was back the next day and my back was so thankful I did. Over the years they both have treated my self induced injuries either from golf or yard work or running. Have faith in traditional medicine and I Stop Pain will be a permanent part of your life! Why go through life with pain when a few treatments can make a world of difference. Enjoy!

I came to I Stop Pain for acupuncture to treat a sore ankle and knee. After one visit, I noticed a difference. Tom is fantastic and incredibly knowledgeable, going above and beyond to explain any treatment he provides. Additionally, the office is clean and inviting - love the complimentary tea offered too. This is the best place to get treated. I had a sleep issue earlier and I came here and within 3 treatments my entire sleep cycle was back on track. I have been suffering from shoulder pain for almost 3 years and it’s completely cured with one single appointment. It felt magical because this is the first time I am having acupuncture and felt it’s the best treatment for all my body issues. The doctors here are very knowledgeable and experienced. I have always been a little unsure about acupuncture and how much it can do for you, my wife convinced me to go. (thanks to Vivian!) I had extreme low back, hip, and sciatica type pain down my left side that was preventing me from even standing for more than a minute, I had a treatment by Tom and in that one treatment the sciatica pain was completely gone. From limping in to walking out in an hour. I am happily returning for more treatment to help with the rest of the pain! If you aren't sure about acupuncture, I can't say enough about how much it can do for you! Tom and Vivian are wonderful people!

I made an appointment at the center because massage and chiropractic wasn't doing anything for my sciatica. I had seen this place and it's big green and red sign for several years. I didn't have any expectations going in. After my first treatment, the pain that I had been experiencing for several months was 75% gone. After the second treatment, the discomfort was almost entirely gone. I recommend and will continue to attend the I Stop Pain Center.

I went in to get relief from chronic “tennis”elbow and after one amazing session I was cured and it hasn’t returned. Easy location and nice people. They are very experienced and use many modalities to help get you fixed up.

I saw the I Stop Pain sign one day while driving. I kept it in mind for when I started to feel pain, and went to Tom. Since I've been seeing Tom my pain has decreased significantly. I can sleep better and don't wake up with headaches. He's flushed a lot of my upper back and neck and I felt so much better. I even heard another patient at the clinic say "when I came in here today I could barely walk and now I feel great!". Tom is a master!!

I definitely recommend coming to I Stop Pain acupuncture clinic to see either Tom or Vivian for a wide range of treatment options. I started coming to this clinic in 2010 when I had a left leg/lower back pain (siatic nerve) injury at work. I was in so much pain that I would wake up in the middle of the night twisting on my bed of excruciating pain. I did my own research and decided to visit I Stop Pain. I took a few sessions with both Tom and Vivian. Every time I left the clinic after a session, I was feeling much better, and gradually, the pain was gone. In my first session, I didn't know what to expect, but after it was done, I thought that I definitely needed more acupuncture sessions in my life. My mom has also been a patient of Vivian since 2010, and she loves coming to her sessions for shoulder and back pain. The amount of care and compassion that I have experienced in I Stop Pain clinic is heart warming, this is a family business, and you can feel the family welcome here. I will continue to come to I Stop Pain clinic, and my mom will keep coming back too!

I had a really strange injury in my hand and with one acupuncture & gua sho treatment my pain went away and I regained full mobility. Highly recommend this place!

I been going to I stop pain acupuncture center for several weeks. I will review the 3 areas I have been treated for. All 3 areas I give 5 stars. 1. Emotional tapping- I have in my past trauma which I had a hard time letting go. Tom's therapy in just one session freed me from most of this emotional trauma. 2. Acupuncture- After treatment I feel very relaxed and this treatment center does direct billing to blue cross if you have blue cross. 3. Chaga- It is sold by the one pound bag for 50 dollars. One small chunk makes a large pot of tea and it can be reused several times. I was very glad to find this chaga as in the past I was buying powder from Ontario and it seemed overly processed and had no taste. The Chaga at I stop pain is whole pieces and you can really taste the chaga. The tea comes out very dark. chaga is what I prefer to drink after quitting coffee.
