Had brunch with a few friends here today. Our server Bruce was great, very friendly and attentive. The food was incredible, super impressed. The honeycomb parfait blew me away, one of the best things I've had to eat in a while. Everything else our table got was great. Price point was a bit high but that's what you get eating downtown. Restaurant was clean and cozy!

Lovely restaurant with delicious, well-portioned food, and friendly staff! We started the night out with their delicious mushroom beignets. It came with a tasty, garlic-y sauce. As for the main, I got the Burger (which came with Frites) and my date got the Pumpkin seed Risotto. Both dishes were delicious. And their plates are cool too!

I love when you stumble upon a great restaurant by chance. We had hoped to get a table with a view of the water, but nothing was available, so we walked up the street and found Hermitage. The stars must have been aligned because we had an unexpectedly exquisite meal. The wine list was exceptional (we ordered a lovely bottle of Burgundy), and my fettuccine ai crostacei was easily the best seafood pasta dish I can remember. The shrimp, scallops, clams, and mussels were all cooked perfectly... a pleasant surprise for this type of dish. The server was helpful, charming, and friendly and she made us feel welcome. It was a 5+ star experience.

Loved the ambiance, food was amazing. We decided to opt for the 10 course chef-led tasting menu and was not disappointed. My only feedback would be that the dessert should've been a bit more; it is understandable that after 9 courses it'd be difficult to guage. Overall amazing experience and we'll be back for sure!

I ate here twice in one week while in town for a conference, dinner and lunch. Both times was impressed. Lunch was a little less busy and the chef sent out a delightful amouse-bouche. Place has a very chic aesthetic, high ceilings, deco-design. And all round sophisticated solid spot in an often kitschy tourist district.

This was the best Halifax dinner experience I have had!! The service, ambiance and food are superb. The beef tartare is to die for. Mushroom begnies are a bit on the dry side, but the flavour is outstanding. Ahi Tuna as a main is absolute perfection! Allistair was our server and he was phenomenal. Super knowledgeable about the menu, wine, and cocktails. Extremely attentive and professional. I cannot wait to visit again!!

totally lovely meal! we had a gorgeous seaweed martini, the most delicious (and generous) duck tacos, and excellently cooked branzino. Wish I'd ordered dessert, because it all looked perfect. My only complaint was not being able to eat the bacon on the sweet little free snackπŸ₯° Will definitely come back for a fancy meal!

🚨 🀩 🀀 TOP RESTAURANT IN HALIFAX DOWNTOWN ! Food is unbelievable and the cocktails match. Wow loved it !! What a vibe and an amazing experience. The food is honestly some of the best in Halifax. The cocktails have some very unique touches that makes it so outstanding. Music is a vibe. And the atmosphere is very modern Victorian. This is now one of my top restaurants in the city. Very happy I came here.

I was looking for a nice place for a light lunch by myself and was so glad I found Hermitage. I ordered the seafood fettuccine, and it was fresh and delicious. Service was excellent, and the overall ambiance inside the restaurant was lovely. I will definitely come back and try other menu items as well as dinner.

Just had a late lunch, before heading out to catch a flight home. Enjoyed tuna tartare, the gnocchi with octopus and the flatbread. The plates were well paired with a glass of Rose and Prosecco. Out of the three dishes the Tuna was the favorite. But the thing that definitely earns this spot 4 stars is the fabulous service, specifically our waiter Bruce. Especially post Covid, when service has been spotty, or inconsistent- what a breath of fresh aire to have a waiter invested in you having a great meal. Professional, thoughtful and attentive, please ask for Bruce when there next!

Food is amazing, service is excellent! Highly recommend the duck taco( was eaten too fast to have a photo taken lol). We would definitely come again!

So it's hard to review this place because it's got a ton of awesome features - the atmosphere, drinks, and staff are all top notch but I was very disappointed with the food, especially at the price points paid. We had the prix fixe for Dine Around Halifax, including a drink, a main with no side, and a dessert - $30. I left quite hungry as the portion was small, and was partially comped for the meal (tacos) because they were cold as well as flavorless. We also had the salmon benny which was a generous portion, but the plate was drowned by a large pile of leaves and vinaigrette which can be left off. None of the food was amazing, or tasty, or exciting. It was regular fare but nothing I'd go back for. The one high point was the two tiny biscuits offered as an amuse bouche; best biscuits I've ever had! Tasted like puff pastry. I'd definitely go back for drinks and to hang out since the music was great, and as mentioned the staff and service was excellent.

🫀 Overall experience was not pleasant. This was recommended by my friend, so we thought to give it a try. Bartenders was fantastic, very professional and helpful all around, however, the waitress on the other side was completely different. Not only she forget to check on our table for about 35 minutes...
