Perfect spot to stop by before or after getting on the BLT. Food and coffee were great.

I love it here! It's modern, clean, open, and super fresh. I love all the plants and folliage, and also the outside sitting area. The staff were very friendly and even loaned me an air pump for my bike! My iced mocha was also super yummy. It would be sick if I could purchase bike accessories at the cafe, but I know it's a cafe and not a bike store. Also would be cool if there were signs on the rails to trails for the cafe and maybe a little ramp to get into the parking lot? Just spit balling lol. Thank you for opening up and being a great place to stop along the trail!

I don't normally leave reviews, but this cafe made me want to. I ordered a lemonade, and my step-dad got a hot chocolate. Both were amazing. I'd reckon the hot chocolate was one of the best I've ever had. The atmosphere is great too, especially on the rainy day we came on. I hope to come back again on a brighter day so I can get a sandwich and drink and sit outside.

Enjoyed a cold brew coffee on a hot day. Efficient, friendly service and good recommendation. The fudge brownies, lemon bars and desserts looks delicious. There are indoor and outdoor patio seating.

I had walked up the Chain Lake Trail. And this cafe was in the perfect spot for a rest and a bite to eat. I was told they just opened in June of 2022, so they've been there for less than a year. The food is good! I had a little devil sandwich. It was spicy, but the worker informed me beforehand that it would have spice in it. I really enjoyed the atmosphere too! Great experience. They had baked goods, too (cinnamon buns, cookies, etc.), and they also made a beautiful hot chocolate for me.

Great coffee and delicious grilled chicken and pesto sandwich. Loved the outdoor patio. Service was friendly and timely. Location is right off the bike trail in Bayers Lake.Definitely worth a ride up the trail by foot or bike. We'll be back.

Going to the 5k Cafe is one of our favourite activities in Halifax. Try biking from the start of the trail at Joseph Howe Superstore. It is a smooth and lovely ride and it is great for adventurous kids. Making this cafe the destination is so much fun. The folks at the 5k are welcoming and friendly. The coffee is organic and delicious.

My first experience as I was told after the Chain of Lakes Park Run to visit here post run. Fantastic place for anyone any don’t have to be a runner. Nice patio setting and indoor along with some outdoor merchandise that is paired with the 3 Mile Outfitters. I had the iced Americano and a Nanaimo bar as it called out to me.

Honestly I can't believe I haven't written a review for this location yet! It's a great coffee shop. The coffee options are all good. It never tastes burnt. Their desserts taste great and the sandwiches are awesome. All at a reasonable price. The location is well themed and as its name suggests, it's a great place to start or end a 5k run. Staff are great as well. Parking is ample. The only thing that's kind of funny is that if your not running or biking on the trail the spot is kind of a walkability nightmare.

Love this place! Great people, great sandwiches (especially that hot pepper grilled cheese), fabulous snacks (Aly Mae’s - say no more!!). Such an asset to the trail and Bayer’s Lake!

An awesome selection of coffees and sandwiches to suit anyone’s tastes. A busy spot but totally worth it, and they are always extremely efficient getting food and drinks out.

My partner and I were in town staying at a hotel nearby, and this morning I really really (reaaaaaaally) needed a good coffee. There really isn't anything decent in the area (and forget hotel coffee). So glad to have found this gem nearby. Got a cappuccino and a spicy breakfast burrito, both were top-notch, and I just had to order another capp on the way out because my taste buds were screaming for more. Absolutely delicious! Thank you so much!

Delicious cinnamon buns here, massive too. The hot drinks are very good. Their case of sandwiches are going to entice. Conveniently located by the trail, it's a great stop or starting point!

First time there. I enjoyed my meal and a beer. Good sandwichs I had the chicken pesto. Our group of cyclists found it very convenient as it is right beside the BLT trail. They will need more staff as they grow. We will go again. I wish them success.

One of the best kept secrets in Halifax. Not only is the food incredible and the coffee divine the location is conveniently attached to an outdoors shop and an incredible trail.

Not sure why but Outside of downtown Halifax seems not to have to many mom & pop coffee shops. But glad we found this gem of a Coffee Shop . Friendly crew both in the cafe and store and they make a nice cup of coffee. The Cafe mocha had just a touch of chocolate to it, I’d prefer something a little deeper in flavour. Also don’t sleep on the cinnamon rolls, they don’t look like much (thin and pale) but pack a ton of flavour and are soft and delicious. #cafe #coffeeshop

This is a sweet little café and good place to start, pause, or end your walk along the trails. I enjoyed a nice chai latté here before my walk today. There was enough space between tables for my little one in his car seat and our stroller, which I greatly appreciated.

You have a great little cafe in a fantastic location from the trail with a couple of wonderful staff. They permitted us to top off our e-bike batteries while we ate lunch. The panini was delicious and the beer recommendation was spot-on.

Location is actually perfect for what surrounds it. No major restaurants or food venues. Sure there are 5ish minutes in Bayer's Lake but come on... Be serious there. It's close to the highway and hotels but stands alone as a place to park, get a coffee and go for a walk. The atmosphere is welcoming, the staff are great, my go to is a cinnamon bun. Mind you after getting 10k steps, sometimes a coffee is warranted or even a pastry. Around 3 pm on a Sunday it was busy as a beehive. Enjoy it.

I had a horrible experience here. I went there about a week ago and said hello twice to the front cashier girl but she simply ignored hs and didn’t even acknowledge us twice. Then we stood there for 5 minutes finally she cane to take the order. We had the nutella latte which was good and the white chocolate caramel hot chocolate which didn’t take anything like a hot chocolate. The lemon cranberry muffin i had was so dry and tasted like it was not fresh.

🫤 Overall experience was not pleasant. This was recommended by my friend, so we thought to give it a try. Bartenders was fantastic, very professional and helpful all around, however, the waitress on the other side was completely different. Not only she forget to check on our table for about 35 minutes...
