This is hands down the best German food I’ve ever had! Very flavourful and perfectly cooked. Service was excellent, and I loved the photos displayed around the dining area. We had the schnitzel and schweinshaxe, both were beyond expectation! I highly recommend checking this place out if you like delicious food!

Visiting from Ontario and boy were we wowed! The atmosphere was fun and homey. We ordered the soft pretzel which arrived warm and yummy - trying to figure out how to pack those to bring home. There is a cucumber radish salad that is so nice and fresh and we tried the pickle herring, which we had never had, but really enjoyed. We would highly recommend this restaurant for a date night, group of friends or family. Will definitely be back. Chef Ian has got a great thing going!

Absolutely amazing German restaurant the beer, food and the dessert was amazing, breathtaking in fact. It was my first time visiting a German restaurant and I couldn’t stop eating even after I was full! I got to enjoy a beer and pretzel as the appetizer which came with a beautifully made dipping sauce. As for the main I went with the Schweinshaxe it takes some time to cook and prepare but its 100% the wait. The meat melts in your mouth and tasted great, the cabbage was done fantastically alongside the pasta and the apples were delicious! Now onto the dessert which was beautifully appealing to look at and admire but the taste and the flavour of the brownie done with the ice cream and chocolate with the sauce it has to be one of the best brownies I’ve ever had. Compliments to both the chef and the server working tonight! I will definitely be back in the future to try more items on the menu and highly recommend PMQ if you would like to experience something new or get a beautiful sweet taste of the fatherland!

Ordered the Schnitzel with spatzel. The food was delicious. Growing up in a European family, Schnitzel was a dinner staple in our home. I would give this Schnitzel a 9/10. Fantastic.

Start with the pretzel, end with the strudel, and fill up on as much as you can in-between. This was a fantastic, hearty meal flush with options for vegetarians and meat eaters alike. Recommend bringing friends so you can try everything. Our server was working solo that night but did an excellent job - very friendly and kept things bustling. She recommended a great non-alcoholic riesling that I really enjoyed. (But do please restock your non-alcoholic Erdinger! That would have have been perfection!) Thanks! Will be back with a crowd. :)

One of my favourite foods in Halifax! The pretzel is beyond anything I’ve ever had before and all of their menu is great German cuisine. Highly recommend!

Came here on a stormy night in December and was not disappointed! My wife and I shared a warm pretzel with Weissbier cheese, Spätzle (with roasted hazelnuts, smoked gouda & asparagus) and Schweinshaxe washed down with a few Edingers. Everything was delicious and served piping hot. The sweet "bad boy" butter and the Weissbier cheese went along great with the authentic pretzel as appetizers. The Spätzle was creamy and rich and a great on a winter night. Having previously had Schweinshaxe at Hofbrauhaus & Haxnbauer in Munich I wasn't sure what to expect from a new spot in Halifax but was not disappointed in the least. The crispy outer skin was crunchy and full of flavor and the melt in your mouth meat underneath went great with a balanced sauce and sweet braised apple to add some sweetness to each bite. Chef was able to take a moment to come out and chat with us about the restaurant and their inspirations which was also great ! Also have lots of Vegetarian options which I don't always expect from German restaurants. Only thing I would change would be to add some bright bulbs down the stairs to the bathroom down as they were a little dark ! Will definitely be back!

Amazing food can’t wait to go back! Server was lovely as well. I recommend trying the pretzel with sweet butter, the schnitzel and spatzle with mushroom gravy, as well putting their beer and mustard cheese sauce on anything and everything, it is incredible!

Menu is extremely reasonable. Food was amazing. We go out around town quite a bit and this was the best food. Staff friendly. Highly recommend. Pretzel make sure you add the beer cheese. Schnitzel delicious. Potato pancakes yummy.

Beer cheese sauce, don’t forget it on the schnitzel. Authentic German food experience restaurant was a real treat for my team. Had fun trying to pronounce the menu items. Everyone seemed to enjoy it. Food took a while to get and was very staggered which we were warned at lunch sit down for 7. Pricing was above average. Service was on par. Atmosphere was ok upstairs but anything on the way out the door downstairs was difficult to navigate. Not really accessible. Seems to be a serious mould issue into the downstairs/washroom area somewhere as it was overpowering.

OMG! The food was absolutely delicious. Pretzel is a must try. And I had Schnitzel with mushroom gravy.... It was heart warming! Like you could actually feel warmth radiating all over your body. Just magical, kudos to Chef Ian. Not to mention, I hate beer, but their German Beer was quite buttery foamy and yummy. Not bitter at all. Highly recommended! P.s- Our waitress was amazing!

Food was delicious, but with the recent menu change you can no longer get potatoes with schnitzel. You can get French fries for an extra $6.00. When it came out, there were only a handful on the plate. I assumed it was a side of fries that I ordered since I was paying an extra $6 but it was a happy meal sized portion of fries for $6 lol. The schnitzel was 10/10 though.

🫤 Overall experience was not pleasant. This was recommended by my friend, so we thought to give it a try. Bartenders was fantastic, very professional and helpful all around, however, the waitress on the other side was completely different. Not only she forget to check on our table for about 35 minutes...
