Do not make my mistake. Don’t judge this book by it’s cover. It’s not much to look at from the outside, but this pub is a top spot in downtown Halifax. They serve real pints unlike most of the wimpy bars in the area. Guinness, my favourite, is on tap. And the food was excellent and reasonably priced! The fish tacos were amazing! It’s my new favourite spot.

The food is excellent, we had the hamburger 🍔 and the ribs both were delicious. Staff is very nice. Also there were 2 musicians playing Blues, they were also good which gave a nice ambiance to our dinner. The place might look a little run down, but don't get fool. I suggest this place.

Pork skewers (plus steamed rice) and calamari are highly recommended. Live music is great and makes this place vibrant. If you have lived in Halifax and you're not aware of Erin, you have wasted your life then! Update: It's been a while but everything has remained authentic, lovely and intimate in here. Never miss the knob creek with the pork skewers! Will be back to see how is the calamary after almost two years. Another update: Daniel's attitude needs to be recognized at this fantastic place. Today I reunited with the pork(butt) skewers and I can't even dump my brain about it. It's just the best. The good news is they high likely don't move this year.

A group of us attended a Wednesday evening comedy show, karaoke, and wing night. Overall, the experience was not memorable and the food was a little disappointing. The comedians ranged from poor to mediocre in their standup acts. We sampled several wing combinations as well as the deep-fried pepperoni. The wings were dry/overcooked and would have been better with more sauce. I believe that the pepperoni was mild as it lacked flavor. I realize that serving mild pepperoni ensures that no guests are put off by this product for being too hot, although if there was an option for a spicier flavour, this dish would have been drastically improved. However, the servers were very friendly, attentive, and quick to replenish our beverages.

very cool place that has lived bands, stand up comedy, music and super friendly staf. The food is tasty and they have a nice variety of beer.

Fantastic staff, fantastic food, decent prices. Well the building may be decrepit the heart and soul of this downtown establishment continues to beat. Filipino inspired cuisine that if you were to get it and a purely Filipino restaurant would probably double the price. If you just come in for a drink do yourself a favour and try something off the menu. Great place to see local talent and add your support of local arts.

I love coming here to watch Garrett Mason every Tuesday. Every Tuesday I deal with the amazing male waiter but tonight unfortunately I had to deal with the female waitress from hell. I don’t know whether she is racist or simply rude. But she has managed to make me and my friends feel quite targeted all night. I hope this kind of attitude doesn’t go unnoticed in Halifax anymore. She finding us everywhere we went for no good reason. Thank you to the amazing musician and the wonderful atmosphere. I didn’t rate the food because I have severe food allergy.

Cool bar, great live music, cheap drink prices!

Oh what fun we had on Sunday!! Blues jam night with guests musicians was so fun and everyone was SO awesome. 🎶 Our server was excellent and the food was yummy.

This place was recommended to me by a friend. Drove an hour and a half to try it out and all I can say is that I will absolutely be back. Amazing food and incredible staff.

My partner and I live a few buildings away from Bearly's and we always saw the posters on their windows for live music. We went on a Saturday and they had the band called Iron Wheel. That band along with the food was the perfect duo. Omg whatever the big burger is ORDER IT! I'm still singing "Hey Mama" & wishing I ordered a burger to go as well. Overall Rating 25/10

Great little rustic place. No fancy interiors, just great food and music. Try their Sisig and Pancit! These Filipino delicacies go great with live blues music!

My meal was “bearly” edible today. It was soooo salty that I have been drinking water for 9 hours trying to flush it out of my system. They were out of tea. rib sandwich and ribs. The place smelled like urine, the tables were sticky and unlevel. The only good thing was our server. Definitely do NOT recommendation this place for the food. Maybe if there was music playing it might have been a bit better.

Bearly edible… was very disappointing, as the food was really hit or miss. They were also out of several things on the menu. Two of our six meals was awful.. the Crispy Kare Kare was overdone pork belly with a flavorless, peanut sauce the consistency of brown gravy. The bok choy was unrecognizable and buried in the gloppy sauce. The Lechon Kawali was flavorful but so salty it was inedible. The ribs were mediocre but at least edible. The pork BBQ Combo however was a home run. Too bad the other three meals didn’t score! Maybe it was a off day but nonetheless less disappointing… Our server was great, very nice but just gave us a sorry you didn’t enjoy your meal.

I'd give zero stars if I could...the ribs were over cooked alot...my coleslaw was potato salad and our server had the nerve to ask us to pay soon as we got our food cause he was done his shift...transfer the table!!! That was in spring...it's fall now and we haven't or will ever go back.

Great live music, atmosphere and great staff! I've never seen a band there that wasn't exceptional! All I'd change are the chairs. They wrap around you and aren't comfortable.

Rotation of very talented and fun musicians. Authentic and unpretentious. Very friendly staff. Food is the only negative.

One week after moving here 5 years ago, I saw this place and couldn't wait to go (I had a favorite, regular blues bar back home). Well, I finally went and wish my first time WAS 5 years ago!! Fabulous place! A few of us went to catch Iron Wheel playing (GREAT BAND-- look up their CD release). There was tonnes of music, drink, dancing, and laughing. We also ate there (yum!). My sister and nibblings ordered a few dishes of standard fare and rated the chicken quesadillas the best out of all the dishes they ordered. My partner got the fish and chips and said it was also good. I'm not one to order standard fare when there are culinary adventures to be had and ordered the palabok. A-MAZE-ING!! Rice noodles drown in shrimp gravy, with shrimp, crisp pork belly, smoked fish, boiled egg, and crips pork rind. The serving was massive and I barely put a dent in it, so passed it around the table. Some folks took a tentative bite of this unfamiliar dish, but after one bite, everyone was digging in-- "THIS IS SO GOOD!!!!!" My only criticism of the dish is that I found it quite salty (nothing a pint of beer won't fix). I loved the 'roughness' of the decor, and the atmosphere was perfect! It had the same vibe as my favorite haunt back home. I can't wait to go back!

As a cheap person, I appreciated the daily special of a pulled pork hamburger with fries for 13/14$. It was a good size and tasted good . Atmosphere-wise, I liked the pool table up on the upper floor and the comedy night.

The place has an amazing vibe. When we went in there while we were passing by and man what a night we had. The band was playing, people just dancing away on the floor and even though we were just there for a single night we made a couple of great acquaintances. Must visit esp on Sundays or Wednesdays when the band is playing.!!

Went here after dinner to check out the music scene. They had a really fun upbeat band playing some great blues. It wasn’t too packed for a Friday at 9 either. We got a decent spot on the upper level right in the line of sight of the stage. Our waiter was very attentive and friendly.

Live band and karaoke. Warm and friendly staff. Great selection of Filipino/Canadian cuisine (Barrios kitchen). Liemposilog and the bbq skewers is a must! Generous proportions and great value for your money.

Great inviting atmosphere and really good blues artists, with regular bands that play weekly. Amazing food - I had the pad thai and my wife had the nachos and both were SO tasty. Good selection of local beers too; Olands Export Ale was a new one for me.
