Quality has been slipping! We used to love this restaurant. We had moved to Toronto 3 years ago and we talked about A Mano all the time. We recently tried it since we’ve moved back and the quality of food has declined. Staff is still very friendly and accommodating. Calamari was bland, pizza sought was gummy, salad needed more dressing and the tiramisu was about the only thing that had not changed.

Definitely one of the best restaurants in Halifax in terms of consistency, quality, and value. We dined here recently as our family Christmas dinner together. The service, drinks, and food were all amazing. It's rare my dad has positive things to say about his dining experiences (he's had bad luck) but he was thoroughly impressed and so was the rest of the family. I look forward to my next visit here for sure!

Just a wonderful place to eat. The food quality and presentation are excellent. This is a place where quality comes before quantity. So do not expect huge portions but rather culinary excellence. The decor is very nice with a subtle upscale feel without being pretentious. The staff is well trained and superb. Would give them an extra star of I could.

THE BEST! We were enthralled with how good the food was. We ordered 2 appetizers, 3 entrées and 2 desserts; all extremely fresh and delicious! Also the price was well worth what we received. We will definitely be coming back here again and again. Our server was very nice and attentive. The ambiance was very charming. Look forward to going back very soon and trying more of their amazing food!

Amazing spot, the wait staff was on point the pasta was perfect and overall an amazing night out.. I’m not sure what the heck was going on in the bathrooms as it was queued up every time. Very very odd but other than that expect a fantastic meal

WOW. What an absolutely life changing experience Ristorante A Mano was this past weekend. I had been dreaming of going for months and when we finally got time off, we booked a table, and it was more than I was dreaming of. It exceeded every expectation we had and truly was the highlight of our romantic weekend getaway. First off, the atmosphere and ambiance is unbeatable. You truly feel like you are living in a lap of luxury while you're there. The seating is intimate and very comfortable, with cozy lighting and spectacular views. The food, I feel like there is hardly the right words to explain how absolutely delicious everything was. Each bite made me exclaim "wow!". Because I had been anticipating my dinner there for a while we went all out and ordered 2 starters: the Sgabello which was to die for and I am still dreaming about, and the Gamberi which were hands down the most beautifully cooked shrimp I have ever had, and I am a shrimp fanatic. For our mains we each got out own carbonara and W.O.W. the level of finesse was unreal, my fiance got the seafood linguine which I was actually jealous of due to how incredible it was, he gave me a scallop from it and I have never had such a tender beautiful scallop in all my life and I have lived in Digby! I also got the mushroom pizza and no word of a lie I could eat it daily for the rest of my life. The service was also impeccable, we had an amazing server who was so incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the food and cocktails and made sure our evening went perfectly. This was 6 days ago and every day since I have not stopped talking about this dining experience and have recommended it to countless people. We cannot wait to return to try more of the menu! Cheers to such an amazing establishment.

Went there for a late lunch. Very decent environment and decor. We ordered two pastas and a salad, which were all well made and delicious. My kids love the Italian bread particularly.

So, I found this restaurant on Google maps. I really wanted to avoid greasy food as I'm out of town and been having a little to much of that recently. My partner had the pizza which wasn't anything to write home about... Just okay. I had the tortellini Al Prosciutto, it costed 24$ on the menu. I was expecting a big dish but I was served 12-13 peices of tortellini. That's the equivalent of 1.84-2$ a piece. I was pretty disappointed with the dish being this was advertised as a main course meal when this could easily be eaten as an appetizer. The pasta is hand made which I understand although it's nowhere near a dish being a main meal. Drinks are alright (sangria and MIA) The manager came to my table with a piece of cake on the house to go which was nice of her. Would of appreciated if they remade the dish to go being how little was served but I guess take what you can get right ?

Visited this place today i.e Sep 8th 2022 with few of my friends. I had an amazing time at Ristorante a Mano. Had one of the best Italian food in the longest time. Starting from entering and leaving the restaurant my experience was great. The whole vibe of the restaurant was pleasant. Kudos to the hosts and servers for the excellent service. Stephanie did a great job serving us, keep up the good work and keep that ever lasting smile on your face.

This place came personally recommended as one of the best Italian restaurants in Halifax. So we booked and expectations were high. But the following happened: 1. Some dishes come with delicious sauces etc, but no bread is served... which is usual for an Italian. 2. There are lots of staff but our waitress gave us little attention and it was difficult to get her attention. We were left alone for some very long periods. 3. Asked for a Ginger Beer but got given not very tasty Ginger Ale on tap... no bottle. 4. It was pretty noisy. The acoustics don't seem to be as good for dampening sound as they could be. 5. Ordered a pizza and it arrived lovely and hot from the wonderful pizza ovens, but it wasn't very tasty... somewhat bland. I tried to pep it up with some spicey oil but that didn't help much either. 6. Had the banana caramel cheesecake which wasn't bad but couldn't taste any banana. On the positive side the hazelnut ice-cream was some of the best ever experienced in Canada. Won't be going again.

I haven't went here since I worked there and had gotten a drink at The Daily Grind first. I had a seat at the bar and got the jumbo shrimp and schiatta. I had ordered the Jack Sparrow cocktail but it had pineapple in it. Sebastian made me something else that I liked more. I talked to a few people that I worked with and missed seeing. I ordered the banana caramel cheesecake and wow! It was amazing! Perfect way to end my meal.

We went here for my birthday and it was a great experience. The indoor seating was pretty full and a little loud so we sat on the patio which was perfect. The food was good and Francesca was a great host and made sure we had whatever we wanted. We will definitely be visiting again.

It isn’t enough to say good things about this place. From the minute you enter the property you are greeted immediately as you come to the door with a smile by the the hostess. The atmosphere is really nice for a couple or with friends. Our server Kalece was so nice and gently explained the menu with expertise. The food was delicious!! For antipasti: breaded eggplant baked uhuhlalal🥳🥳after we had a gnocchi al funghi and Tagliatelle con Polpette. Profiteroles Al gelato at the end.Perfect!!!🤩 Congratulations to Robin and his team in the kitchen. The owner is lucky to have you as a cheff!!👏👏 And the price is quite reasonable!!🤩

Enjoyed a wonderful dinner with a good friend last evening at A Mano's.The Raspberry Bliss mocktail was soo delicious. I had two! My friend's Peroni however was at room temperature. The manager and waitress were very apologetic though and did everything they could to make it right. We ordered the Trio Di Piadina to start and I had the Ravioli as a main. My friend ordered the minestrone soup but they accidentally brought out the wrong one at first. Again the waitress and manager did everything they could to make it right. In the end the waitress brought out 2 Gelatos on the house for dessert which was an amazing and unexpected surprise. I really appreciated that although they weren't perfect they went above and beyond to make it right - like us having a good experience was truly valued and very important to them in a way I've rarely experienced. I was so impressed and will definitely be back!

Nice fancy restaurant. We sat on the patio. We had to wait a while for the main course. The food tastes great!! A little pricey though. The ravioli portion was too small for 24$. The pasta portion was better. Drinks were nice too.

Ristorante a Mano was pretty good. The dishes have drastically gone up in price in the last two years (as everything has) but the service was still excellent and everything tasted great. This restaurant itself is lovely, but it can be very busy and loud.

Make a reservation. Super busy! Service was excellent, friendly and attentive. Meals well proportioned and so tasty! The atmosphere was warm and comfortable. The only thing is that for as busy as it always is, there are only two bathrooms and I don't know what y'all are doing in there but Jesus Christ other people need to use the bathroom.

A bit crammed. The two person tables are very tiny. BUT WORTH IT! The food in this place is amazing and the service is always great. I'd um craving Italian, I will drive the hour and a half JUST to eat here.

One of my favourite Italian restaurants. Patio has a good view where we can enjoy a glass of wine and have a pizza. Do not forgetting to try their “Tiramisu” for dessert.

Everything was delicious. Service was great. It was a cold and rainy, unusual for a midsummer day. Waitress gave us a pot of hot water, perfect to keep us warm before wonderful meals.

Came in with 4 young kids and was happily greeted by staff who engaged us and our kids. They provided some colouring and a kids menu and we all enjoyed a very delicious meal together. Small warning that this is a semi fancy place, and while we were not dressed up (and had kids!) we also went a bit early to avoid the later celebration/romance/special occasion crowd. Parents: this is a great place to bring your kids but be aware their meals come with only the entree, so drinks and dessert are separate (and definitely worth it!).

We came to Ristorante A Mano for lunch, early on a Friday. At first, it wasn’t busy but, it got crowded quickly. We were a large group and, even though the service slowed down at times, the staff was quite diligent. Overall, the food was very good! For the most part, the portions were filling or, at least, reasonable. The drinks were also good.

The wait staff were very knowledgeable about the dishes as well as friendly. The ambience was very comfortable. The food was absolutely exquisite with appropriately sized portions. Definitely deserves multiple visits.

This place is amazing. Authentic Italian cuisine. Fine dining experience. Cozy atmosphere. Great selection of wines. Food is fresh, hot and proportional to the price. Recommended this place for the solo foodie adventurer or for that romantic date night couple.

Food was delicious but very small portions. I was surprised to order pasta that didn't come with bread. Our waitress was very slow. I ordered a coffee to have with dessert. Brought out dessert and 10 minutes later brought coffee. No cream or sugar so I had to wait for her to bring that back as well. Really like the heaters with the outside tables. Stayed nice and warm 😌

A delightful meal with excellent service. There are lots of places to dine in Halifax, so you should be able to pick one out that has your kind of menu accompanied by excellent service. For us, Amano was one of those choices. Service from Liam was delightful and attentive and helped make the evening great. All the dishes we ordered were terrific. Lots to choose from, you can’t go wrong here. Reservations are a good idea. We watched many being turned away. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED 🌟

A fantastic meal and great atmosphere. A mix of ages and backgrounds. Our server Ryan was attentive and helpful with making suggestions. We will be back soon!

We were told there was an hour wait for the patio or we could sit at the pizza bar. It was a blessing in disguise. It was wonderful to watch all the food being prepared and just made us even hungrier! The food was delicious and the service was quick and attentive. The portions were generous and the ambiance is lovely. We couldn't wait to start eating we forgot to take photos for the review and the empty plates say it all. Would definitely return. Strongly suggest a reservation. If you're looking for a view of the waterfront it's slightly obstructed by the parking lot.

A good alternative to the other famous restaurant in the same complex. The pizza I had for takeout was amazing with lots of toppings.I also dined in and had scallops as an appetizer (absolutely delicious) and the pasta was incredible. Full of flavour. Interior well designed and spacious especially Covid. Totally recommended.

🫤 Overall experience was not pleasant. This was recommended by my friend, so we thought to give it a try. Bartenders was fantastic, very professional and helpful all around, however, the waitress on the other side was completely different. Not only she forget to check on our table for about 35 minutes...
