Beautiful decor and a small menu with wonderfully presented dishes. We went during Dine Out and they had two appetizers for $20 and beer on tap for $6. We had enough food for take out. The chicken sliders were great as they were small and juicy. The fish tacos were a bit bland on its own although it looked very tasty. The cheesy pierogis were tasty and came with around 8 pieces. The pork belly bao had super soft bao bun but the filling was just ok. Overall, it was a good experience and it wasn’t crowded for a Thursday evening. The only downside was that a couple of members in the group didn’t feel too well the next morning from the food.

I went to East of Grafton for the "Happy Hour" specials & it was great ! You get a very large size of nachos , like a cookie sheet full & the price was great as they are half price from 4-6 . I also had chicken sliders and some Pork Bao with some coworkers . Everything tasted good . Our server , Bethany , was Fantastic :)

With the name gastropub, we were expecting higher quality food. The beer was fine but the fish n chips was more on the store bought / freezer side. Shocking since when we asked the server he said it was a popular dish. Also the Fries felt like they were refried, stale almost. Nice looking place and ambiance for drinks, not sure we would go back for the food.

Good place for half priced nachos and pub snacks from 4-6. The nachos ($9.50) were layered well with peppers, artichoke pieces and pickled onion, and had a good ratio of cheese to chip and amount of dip (sour cream, refried beans, fresh salsa). 3 Chicken sliders ($8) were tasty but not very filling. Sat outside on the patio and could hear music from The Pint across the street.

We had an enjoyable meal at the pub. Food was well prepared and good value. Alex was an excellent server. We will be back for the happy hour drinks and half price nachos!!

The food is amazing. Get the nachos, best in town. Service is always amazing and the staff are so awesome. Atmosphere is casual and comfortable to relax and enjoy a beer or cocktail. One of my favorite go-to places for a casual night out

Good drink selection, ranging from beers to rattlers to cocktails, and even a mystery shot (which I would recommend as it was delicious). Sticky toffee pudding left a lot to be desired. Spacious indoor and outdoor space, well-maintained washrooms.

We wandered around downtown Halifax until we were hungry and came across this adorable bar right in time for happy hour. This seems to be a favourite among the locals because they said in a few hours they'd be full with reservations. The cocktails were fantastic and I would definitely come back with friends for dinner and drinks. A great place for a date too.

Loved the nachos here! And our server was VERY busy (we could tell by all the new tables coming in) but she was very attentive to us. Great overall experience, we'll be back for sure.

Had the classic burger here last night and I loved it! The atmosphere is fantastic and they were always playing music to keep the mood up the servers were quick and very kind I will definitely be coming back to East of Grafton!!

Went there seeing excellent reviews of food, doesn’t live upto hype. Wanted to try Mediterranean Nachos but they completely revised the menu as such. Tried normal nachos, chicken wings and another chicken dish ;wings were smelly and below average and can’t complain about nachos (serving is large for a single person). Overall, average, nothing to be hyped about!

They were amazing in regards to service and overall style. They made my daughter's birthday a fun adventure and even gave her the cake with candles. The service was spectacular, and the recommendations were outstanding. The beer samper is fabulously priced. You get the three craft beers for the price of one anywhere else. The food was well portioned and delicious. Served meticulously to perfection with a sense of pride. Of all the locations on the block, this is where to dine. On a side note, my daughter left her $100 sweatshirt behind in the bag we just purchased it in. They put it aside until we came back to claim it. They provided a great experience and were honest.

To start we waited awhile to be seated, the food portions weren’t best. Also ate the entire meal without a refill as the waitress was no where to be found and didn’t come to check up once. My partner wanted a second glass of wine but wasn’t able to get that until she came to clear out plates. I will say the taste of the food was great but purely based on service we will not return.

The service at East of Grafton was so friendly and accommodating. The food was tasty and came out pretty quickly. Our group arrived a bit late in the evening and stayed past their posted closing time — even when I enquired as I was leaving, the bartender told me that the rest of our group was more than welcome to stay for as long as they liked.

Our table was directly in front of the open kitchen door so I could see the kitchen and the cook's our entire visit which was not great as it didn't look the cleanest. My partner and I shared the nachos which were delicious. I ordered the ribs and he got the mac and cheese. Mac and cheese was tiny and the short rib was clumped in balls throughout. The ribs were honestly terrible and I didn't wanna finish them but I was starving. They had little to no meat on them and the sauce they were tossed was so acidic is may as well have been vinegar. Wouldn't go back here for the food but the servers were friendly and we enjoyed the atmosphere:(

Good atmosphere. We had a couple glasses of wine and calamari (huge portion), cuban sandwich and burger. They were decent. Service was okay, maybe just was understaffed at this particular time. Probably would just have a beer if I return!

Quaint, old time ambience, lovely patio. The food options are great, as are the beer and cocktails. There's an electic mix of local and handcrafted options.

We aren't from the East Coast so we don't get fish like this too often but this was easily the best fish I've ever had in my entire 26 years of existing. Fast and Friendly service. Thanks again!

Amazing dinner! They have a great happy hour 4-6 with all apps half price and 2$ off beer & wine! Would highly recommend! The steak was amazing and the fried chicken and Mac and cheese!

Great food and great service. The decor is awesome as well..some very unique finishing touches that gives the place a classy feel. It's both retro and modern simultaneously though I would say it leans more towards the retro look. I love the glasses they serve water in. They have a great beer menu and some great deals on oysters sometimes. Just a pity it doesn't seem like they have much of a happy hour. One would think that would be good for business?

5 stars because they accommodated us with two kids later in the evening. Beer, burger and nachos were amazing. Wings we good, however, didn't 'wow' me as much as expected when reading the description. Great atmosphere and place to hang out, definitely wouldn't hesitate to go back

Came here for burger week but will definitely be back for their own food. Service was amazing and drinks were great.

Exceptional service, underrated burger, and awesome dining experience A group of my friends and I went to EOG on the first Friday following patio reopening in Halifax this June (thankfully, we got a table). We really appreciated our server's care, attention, and accommodation. I ordered the EOG burger, which I felt was on the pricey side ($19 - but to be expected for artisanal/gourmet(ish) burgers), but gave it a shot anyway. It was AMAZING and by far, one of the best burgers I've had in a pub around town. It was seasoned well, fries were cooked perfectly, and patty was substantial and juicy (not at all on the dry side). I also ordered the Garden Party, which was so refreshing and beautifully presented. Dessert (cheesecake) was all right; although we wish they had more slices of cheesecake as one of my friends was served/offered tiramisu from the restaurant next door (which he did not enjoy as much as we did the cheesecake!). Definitely coming back to EOG!

The food was one dimensional. I got chicken wings for $15 plus tax. There was about 10 wings there. They were completely unseasoned and tossed in a sweet sauce. The pulled pork mac and cheese I got for $20 was suspended in cheese soup, and the pork in it tasted EXACTLY like the cheese. So...apparently the pork was completely unseasoned, too. The size of the dish was literally smaller than my open hand.... For $20... And one dimensional flavor. I can't. Not for these prices. Please get a new chef or just communicate with them that foods needs FLAVOR PROFILES. Sweet, salty, spicy, umami, sour. This had nothing. One dimensional and quite frankly just sad. I will not be back. Plus, after sending my chicken wings back, the server neglected to check on our main dishes for quite a while. She was on her phone at the counter and she seemed really unhappy. And I was as polite and professional as I could be with my -- very valid -- complaint. I just don't understand. I am thoroughly disappointed. I didn't mention the mac and cheese wasn't good because the server does not have a welcome attitude and I'm trying to avoid conflict. I just asked for a takeout container after taking about 5 bites. I tried pawning it on my friend but she didn't like it either. *Sigh*
