Absolutely stunning fish & chips and the crispiest wings I’ve had, the tartar sauce and their gravy as well were amazing sides for the dishes. Loved the fish so much I had to order an extra piece. The pub is friendly and a perfect place to have some fresh seafood

Steak and fish and chips were delicious. Not crazily overpriced like surrounding restaurants. Located in the middle of lots of condos and construction so not the best view but great time

We came here for supper after a full day of walking around Halifax. The restaurant has an excellent atmosphere and the food was terrific AND satisfying. I had the lamb madras and it was one of the best dishes I have ever had. The portions were generous and the flavours off the charts. You need to check this place out if you are in Halifax.

The atmosphere was amazing, everyone was super friendly. I was able to bring my pup and sit outside which was a huge bonus on a hot day coming from out of town with him. The food was amazing, too. One of the best veggie burgers I have ever had and the fries were delicious! Bf got the Guinness pie and he loved it "the gravy was fantastic!"

This is a great place to grab a drink inside or outside on the patio. Both times I went they didn’t have mussels but the other options I chose were very good anyway. The staff were very kind and both had good recommendations for offering alternatives. I would definitely recommend it.

SO DELICIOUS. I've been twice. I've tried the chicken Caesar salad as well as the fish burger, and damn, both dishes were amazingly tasty. I can't wait to go back! Their beer battered fries are a must-try as well

So good we went twice for dinner! Okay, it’s also super convenient to where we were staying but was a great surprise. Beers are cold and food is SO GOOD. After travelling from Toronto with my partner, a few pints of Guinness paired with the fish and chips and shepards pie hit the spot. I would highly recommend. The vibe is great and it always seems to be busy!

Came in just after 2pm. Service was friendly and being between major meals it was not too busy. Girlfriend and I ordered chicken wings, beer battered fries and the Sheppard's Pie. The pie was a bit spicier than I thought, but it's listed as spicy beef so can't fault them there :-) It was very flavorful and both it and the fries came served hot (temperature wise). Almost was going to let it cool a couple minutes, but it was too good to wait. The wings and the sauces are very good here to. One of the highlights for me was the crispy beer fries and the aioli that comes with it is the same served on their great burger. It goes great with the fries, and I'll be coming back to try the burger & chicken korma. Server checked in with us a few times and only a bit slow returning at the end of the meal but was busy with the till. She was happy to answer questions on some recommended menu items for future visits. This place was recommended by a co-worker and I'm looking forward to my next visit in the future!

Very cool place inside. Quaint , clean and nice. The bartender made some excellent drinks. And when she ran out of a particular ingredient asked if she could create a new and different cocktail for us. It was even better than our already good drinks. Lots of options for beer and cocktails.

We toured the harbour front looking for a place to eat. As you can imagine it was packed and honestly that turned out to be a good thing. We found The Brown Hound on google and decided to give it a try. The first thing that was great was they actually had the beers on the tap list. Our waiter was nice and attentive even though he was working with a cast on. I had the steak and Guinness pie which was delicious! Also first time having beer battered fries and those tasted great. All in all great atmosphere and super short walk from the harbour.

Great little place. Variety of seating - a little dark for eating in the evenings. Food was amazing, nice variety. Service friendly and attentive. We were there with another couple and our bills were not done up correctly but nothing was over charged.

Great British style pub with a ton of atmosphere. Very true to theme and reminiscent of a small traditional 'local' as they are known which has turned gastropub. Serving a variety of traditional British food which is authentic in that it could be found on any British pub menu and is all very tasty. Its fairly small inside with a large bar and hound themed decor which is both quirky and unique. All of this makes for a cozy setting which can be loud when busy and all the more charming for it.

Tried the lamb madras when I went here for the first time. Friendly and personable staff.. calm and dimly lit atmosphere. Prices were reasonable as well.

One of the best pubs in town. Love when the bar is packed, it's a small space so it feels like everyone is there together. Best fries in town and a lovely Guinness too!

Managed to get in for a quick brunch on a Sunday (perfect timing). The two staff working front of house were very friendly and made me feel welcome even though I was dining alone. It can be so challenging finding places for brunch as a solo patron with the breakfast/brunch crowds. So definitely appreciate The Brown Hound!
