Amazing service. Got the shrimps and chips and the shrimps were delicious. The place was not busy around lunch time in a Monday and we have our meal quietly, what I enjoyed. Recommended.

Tasty fish, with a variety of options. Got lightly battered and regular battered, a burger, deep fried clams, calamari and cod tongue! Fries and slaw were also super tasty. Owner was very friendly and place was very clean.

It was our first time ordered in from them. We got Big Bouy Platter and beet salad. The Big Bouy Platter was good, just felt like the portion of shrimp and scallops were small, we only got 3 shrimp and 2 scallops in total. The fish was very tasty, but the fries were a bit greasy and soggy (i assumed it was cuz we ordered in) the beet salad was okay, the description on the app and the food were a little bit different tho. (They mentioned pecans in the salad on the app but couldn’t find it, there’s tomatoes and onions in the salad but they didn’t say) Other than that the food was pretty good.

If your not showing up here hungry, you aren't going to finish your plate. Traditional battered fish was absolutely dynamite. I had the big bouy platter. Definitely the highlight of Halifax.

The staff are super nice and very helpful. It's become our favourite patio, nice and quiet, without any traffic noise from busy streets. We've tried the fish and chips, and falafel wrap, both were excellent!

I'm not normally a fish or seafood person, however, I got the traditional and chips. I was impressed by how crispy the batter was and how flaky the fish was. So good! The menu has a lot of other neat items, both seafood and non-seafood(?) that I will be going back to try. My only criticism is the use of a decorative "newspaper" paper liner on the plate. It turned to mush soon after putting tartar sauce on it. TLDR: good food, good price, cozy atmosphere.

Great tasting food, fast! I've had the scallops and chips, fish and chips, beet salad, and mussels on three different occasions. The latter two items are very different from any other place (and awesome!) I just wish the mussels and fish were a bit larger portion. Be prepared to pay extra for gravy, coleslaw, etc. And, be prepared for my return visit!

Really nice fish and chips. One of the few places that actually make their own tartar sauce and it's damn good. The coleslaw is also excellent. Definitely recommended!

Eating at this restaurant brought back memories of London for me but also Italy. The quality of the fish and chips you can taste. The family environment and seeing so much happiness and joy reminded me of my time in Italy. Hard to find a place with good food and a family environment these days.

Super friendly staff. Even if they were busy they were very accommodating of our large group. The food was delicious. They don't have whole lobster, but the lobster roll was worth it. Quality and quantity comes over and beyond the charge. It's located in a residential part of Halifax on a quiet street. We had the choice of eating inside or on the deck. Deck tables and chairs were clean, as well as the rest of the facilities.

Was excited to try their lobster roll, it was 25.00. It was warm with peppers and red onion- very little lobster, most like minced lobster. Very dissatisfied. Too much money for such a disappointing sandwich. Would not go back.

Had the fish and chips. Nothing shocking or new but was very good. The owner was friendly and service was fantastic. Easy to see why they're still in business after all these years. Also was very pleased with how they brought a bottle of tartar sauce to the table in an era where places are more likely to give you a packet

Excellent seafood platter called Big buoy platter. Enough for 2 with lots left over to take home. Fast service, friendly staff. Was recommended by Halifax resident and really happy we went. Will definitely 💯 recommend for seafood lovers. Can have a beer with your meal.

The food is great and the service continues to be standard. I'm happy to see them busy, however, I will not order takeout there anymore. The last 3 times, I was promised a 20-25-minute wait from the moment I placed an order but ended up waiting a lot longer than that (40-45 minutes). Last time, I was only notified they were out of mashed potatoes when I got there. I order replacement sides, and one of them was not added to the order.

The food was good and the one piece with fries was just right for lunch. I wasn't too big or heavy and they of course have a two piece for those more hungry. The batter is not too heavy and crispy and the slaw was just right. The service was fun and personal, in a good way. We will be back.

The owner/chef was the most charming guy, and the food was outstanding! Best fried scallops too not overly done and perfectly battered. Lobster roll was also fabulous. They also had this special sauce with the shrimp and chips that was not only wonderful but so unique. 100 stars if I could

I have been in Halifax for over 30+ years and I've never heard of Willman's until a friend mention the diner a few days ago. To my surprise it was not that far from where I reside now. I arrived just after open 11am for a lunch take out. 2 piece fish and chips. Waiting for the order I had a wonderful chat with the owner. I asked about frozen or fresh fish, he looked at me with surprise and resounding responds with NO our fish is fresh, and secret homemade batter and the fries fresh cut daily. The oil is changed daily which surprised me because we all know what second hand oil used in fish & chip tastes and smell like (horrible). The order was done in a timely fashion and the smell was amazing this is before I had tasted the food. To my surprise and delight the 2 pieces of fish were huge and the regular batter did not over-size the pieces like so many other fish-joints. My own taste Willman's Fried fish is the best I have ever tasted and the fries a wee bit on the soft side but taste the way fries are suppose to taste, like potatoes. Over all Willman's is hands-down a diner that needs to be experienced. I am Looking forward to trying the light-battered fish. Please keep in mind this is my review and thoughts on the diner and staff. You will need make your own informed decision by giving Willman's a try. Scott

Visited on a Monday around 3:00pm. I called in my order so it would be ready when I arrived. 2pc fish & chips Paid $17.25 after tax. Nice restaurant with very nice staff. The fish was smaller than I would like for the price. The batter didn't have a ton of flavour, but I ordered the light batter option, which may have been a contributing factor.

Adorable family run authentic restaurant. Lucien (the owner) was very knowledgeable and accommodating for celiac friendly fish n’ chips. The homemade tartar sauce is AMAZING! The service was friendly, attentive, and rather quick. The restaurant was a bit empty at the time that we went, but this place also has an incredible story. Definitely a place to go when in Halifax.

🫤 Overall experience was not pleasant. This was recommended by my friend, so we thought to give it a try. Bartenders was fantastic, very professional and helpful all around, however, the waitress on the other side was completely different. Not only she forget to check on our table for about 35 minutes...
