Did not make reservations, walked in and waited 45 minutes for a table. Despite initial wait time was quoted 20-30min. Arrived at 7:15pm, did not get food until 9:02pm. Food quality - scallops and lobster dinner are great. Lobster roll was priced at 21$ (market price) lobster dinner at $39 including chowder, portions are large. Taste of chowder is okay. Wanted to try the fish and chips and shrimp but both sold out by the time we got a table 🥲 good location close to dt, children’s menu available.

We chose this restaurant on our road trip to Nova Scotia to taste fresh and local seafood. Based on the reviews we came with high expectations and to be honest they meet our expectations. The service was quite nice and friendly. we ordered soup and nachos as an appetizer. The soup was warm and yummy and the nachos were big enough for three people as an appetizer. Our main plates were fish and chips plus a seafood plate and we were satisfied with the meals in terms of quality and quantity. The restaurant itself was cozy and well designed. The only small room for improvement maybe is the washroom cleanliness. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant and if I get a chance to see Halifax again, I will definitely go there.

Every taxi driver told us this was the best place to get a lobster roll in Halifax, so that’s where we went. It was quite good and I enjoyed it, although there was too much mayo for my taste and I think it drowned out the taste of the lobster a bit. For $26, I expected something more flavourful and maybe gourmet. Coleslaw portion was very small. The clam chowder was wonderful! Lots of clams in it and very flavourful. It was gluten free, which meant my sister could enjoy it. Service was good and the place was clean. I will try them again on my next visit and go for a lobster meal.

Okay, so I expected slightly lower prices based on the reviews and menus posted here. That said, the variety is huge and I think you do get what you pay for in terms of quality and portion sizes. Food was hot though I wouldn’t say it was exceptional. It was good-average and I really wish the lobster “dinner” would’ve come with something other than just lobster? Rice and potatoes cost pennies, so adding that with the (very wet) coleslaw would’ve been nice? 🫤

Food is great and staff is amazing! Danielle was our server today and she made everything even better! :) We recommend the seafood platter and the creamy banana pie for dessert.

First time visiting Bluenose II Restaurant, and we will definitely be back! Kelsey was a charming delight, and the kitchen knows the best way to prepare an Eggs Benedict! Better than Lot6! Always a pleasure to visit the Bluenose Restaurant!

I recently visited Bluenose II in Halifax with my wife for a delightful lunchtime experience. This charming restaurant exceeded our expectations with its delectable seafood, cozy ambiance, and attentive service. First and foremost, the food at Bluenose II is a true delight for seafood lovers. We indulged in an array of mouthwatering dishes, from succulent lobster rolls to perfectly seared scallops. Each bite was bursting with freshness and flavors of the sea, making for an exceptional dining experience. The restaurant's interior exudes a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. The maritime-themed decor and beautiful seafaring artwork created a unique and enchanting ambiance. We particularly enjoyed sitting by the window, which offered a pleasant view of the bustling street outside. It was the perfect spot to unwind and soak in the relaxed vibes. The service at Bluenose II was commendable. The staff members were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. They were prompt in taking our orders and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. Their warm and accommodating nature added to the overall positive experience. In conclusion, our visit to Bluenose II was a delightful journey into maritime cuisine. The delectable seafood, comfortable surroundings, and attentive service made for a memorable dining experience. Whether you're a seafood enthusiast or simply seeking a relaxed and enjoyable meal, Bluenose II in Halifax is a fantastic choice.

Wow, i fell in love with this place. I ordered the lobster dinner, and it was super delicious! It cam with clam chowder which was rich and creamy! It also came with a side and i choose mash potato which was amazing! The other side dish we ordered calamari was also delicious. The dessert was also very filling! Delicious as well. I will definitely come back to Bluenose II when/if I ever travel back to Halifax!

We enjoyed going to this restaurant on a recent holiday in Halifax. I had scallops which were good - not that big though - we also ordered the salmon and the calamari- the calamari was great - the salmon was a little overcooked but tasty. We each had a drink from the bar which we found to be very reasonably priced. The atmosphere was casual and the service was friendly. I would go back :)

Lobster dinner!!! $40 for a 3-course meal (July 2022): Clam chowder or salad for appetizer; steamed lobster with sides of slaw and potato salad for main; and finally ice cream for dessert. SO WORTH IT! SO GOOD! Lobster cooked to perfection. All the side dishes and everything else was great too. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT. Much more reasonably priced than all other lobster dinner options around. 1000% bang for your bucks.

So happy we went here during my recent vacation to Halifax. We had the seafood chowder and the 2 piece fish and chips. The food was excellent and served hot and fast. Very friendly staff, great atmosphere! We will definitely return.

Market price (March) full lobster dinner: $40. Good value considering the lobster roll is $30. Utilitarian diner. New England style clam chowder: good. Lobster: done right (boiled) with an offering of melted butter. Fries: average. Rice pudding: homemade, decent.

A very good restaurant in downtown Halifax. Portions were big enough. All meals we had there where just perfect. Prices very reasonable for the quality of the food. I must also mention the quality of the service we had there by our server who was attentioned and professional. It will be a repeat for sure when I'll be back in the area.

Delicious and generous lobster rolls? Dirt cheap happy hour mimosas? I’m powerless against these sorts of things. Love the diner aesthetic as well. Fries and soup were nothing too special but did the job just fine. Definitely worth a visit!

We came here for dinner hoping to enjoy some fish and seafood. This place did not disappoint! The food was really excellent. The menu has something for everyone. The portions are generous. The service was friendly. The place has a very laid back atmosphere. I would definitely come here again.

Came here at around 11:30 on a Thursday right before the lunch rush. Got a lobster roll and the chowder. The chowder had lots of clams in it and the lobster roll had a decent amount of lobster in it. I upgraded my side to sweet potato fries. They could have been crispier. Overall, I enjoyed my meal and wouldn't mind coming back to try other items. Service was good and friendly and pricing was fair. My husband got the fish cakes and he said it was fine.

Incredible! It was so good, we're coming back tomorrow!!! Luke was so instrumental in helping us decide , and oh my, were those great recommendations! Fettuccine Alfredo with the freshest shrimps, yum!! As for the lobster!!!! Outstanding!!! And it came with a very seafoody chowder, as well as silky smooth vanilla ice cream! Don't hesitate to ask for market price of dishes! You will be pleasantly surprised! Definitely recommend!!! Forgive me the frequency of exclamation marks, but mere words fall short of conveying how impressed we were by this place!

Liked the first experience (lobster roll with fair price), came again the next day. Definitely enjoyed the lobster dinner, but found fried calamari my favorite. I am so happy to bump into this restaurant by chance.

I was interested to try the lobster dinner in Nova Scotia and after lots of inquiries I decided to try this restaurant. The staff were so nice everything was clean. We tried lobster dinner and Haddock plate. Lobster dinner was really excellent well cooked and so fresh. It came with a nice soup and delicious dessert which made our experience one of the best. Should try it in Halifax!

The food was good. Very quick, tasty, and fairly priced. Service was meeting the bare minimum. The service was quick but the server never topped up our waters or even chatted with us. It was definitely efficient, but it felt like a get in and get out kind of dining experience. Then to have the lowest pre-set option for tipping to be 18% was shocking considering all that. The restaurant was almost full when I went, so it was loud and difficult to have a conversation. I felt rushed to eat and leave since it was so busy.

Well priced seafood in a diner atmosphere. There are better restaurants in downtown Halifax but not at this price point.

Ordered Seafood platter and Spaghetti with meat sauce. Appetizer clam chowder. Food size is more than enough. Taste is so so. I’ve tried scallops many times. Their scallops doesn’t taste fresh.

This restaurant looks vintage and has been a staple in Halifax a long time. The food is excellent and the staff is very friendly and makes sure you have everything you need. They have local beers 🍻 which my husband tried it was called Frig Off 😆. The lobster roll I had and my husband had the clams. Both are excellent. Downside, it closes at 8pm

📍Bluenose II ⭐️8/10 Our first stop in Halifax was the Bluenose II Restaurant where we just had to try the lobster rolls! The fresh lobster and perfectly toasted buns made for a delicious meal, with the lettuce adding the perfect refreshing crunch. It comes with coleslaw and a choice of side. The fries and mashed potatoes were average, but the chowder was very yum. Lobster rolls - market price (extra $3 for chowder side substitute) **Follow @smfoodd on Instagram for more reviews!!

A local recommended this restaurant to me. I went twice while in Halifax. I enjoyed my first time there. Service was great! Loved the scallops with potatoes. I still think of the potatoes... The server was lovely and she was helpful with her recommendations. My 2nd time was not as good. Went for lunch and the service was not as good. He was nice, but maybe new? Not as friendly as the first server. Claw Chowder was good, but not amazing. I'd recommend if you're looking for a low key and reasonably priced meal in Halifax.

🫤 Overall experience was not pleasant. This was recommended by my friend, so we thought to give it a try. Bartenders was fantastic, very professional and helpful all around, however, the waitress on the other side was completely different. Not only she forget to check on our table for about 35 minutes...
