    Abysmal, quite possibly one of the most disappointing meals I've ever experienced from any restaurant. A whole chicken family meal was ordered with 4 sides including sweet potatoes fries, mashed potatoes, corn, vegetable medley and dinner rolls. The sweet potatoes fries were soggy, the mashed potatoes were bland portion and undersized (medium sized potato for comparison), the vegetables were cooked from frozen and chewy and the restaurant forgot to include the dinner rolls. See picture below to curb your appetite to order here anytime soon. Save your money and buy a generic rotisserie chicken from Costco or superstore. Will never order from there again.

    Very reliable. You can usually get a table and service quickly. The menu is limited to dishes that are old standbys but there's nothing wrong with that. It's a great place to take the family, but I will note that children are limited to a blue, green, and red crayon, which inevitably leads to a debate about which crayon one ought to use to draw the sun or a duck on the paper placemat. I am a very fussy customer and the waitress graciously put up with me. I suspect they put crack in the ranch dressing. Some people rave about the chalet sauce, but I think it tastes of swimming pool. To better support the family experience, I recommend that management swap out the green crayons for yellow crayons.

    I used to live in Quebec. The only chicken place in NS is pretty much only Swiss Chalet. Extremely disappointing. Just took a trip to Quebec and went to St-Hubert. Way more expensive but way better and a lot bigger. Here is a tasty pic. Learn from.this!!

    I had to repeatedly tell her my order. Then she continues to talk over me as I am trying to explain my order. After all that, I get home and my order was wrong

    Line up out the door at the Kempt Rd location. No hostess. Finally someone comes out to greet the crowd but tells us she's actually not on the clock. Gentlemen before us let her know that he's been waiting ten minutes to buy a gift card. This is the second time we've visited that there's been a crowd and a wait for a hostess to acknowledge customers.

    I used to love coming here on average once or twice/qeek as a go-to for night shifts at work or an easy meal after a long day at work. Unfortunately though, quality has gone down hill in a major way. Avoid the mashed potatoes all together as they are just old microwaved product and because of this have a "chewy" texture. Walking specials: it used to be convenient and reasonable to come in for a walk in special, but they've completely removed these and now it's not affordable or even close to reasonable price wise for a go-to, yet the food quality isn't good enough for special occasions either. No handicapped parking (all of the spots haven't been painted in years) My once or twice a week won't make a huge difference I'm sure, but I felt like I had to write a review before cutting it off.

    The food and staff were amazing. My one and only complaint is that they keep removing the tastiest options from the menu(eg. Spinach dip nachos, pecan pie, chocolate cake). I need them back :)

    Weird experience from the beginning. The hostess looked at me like she was confused why I was there. She said "hi" and then just stared at me. As the hostess is about to seat me the server (short, long blonde hair and glasses) in that section waved her hands and said no. To speak to your coworker in such a way is unacceptable, but to do so infront of guests is grounds for termination. I was sat at a dirty table and waited 5 mins before a server approached me. Not once did my server offer to wipe down the dirty table for me. I finished my first soft drink very quickly and I was not offered another. I had to ask for one when my food arrived and my empty glass stayed on the table until I left. My server had 6 tables and every new table waited a minimum of 5 mins before a server approached them. Every staff member looked miserable and stressed out the entire time. I finished my meal and drinks and sat there for 10+ mins before I was approached again by my server. When he did come over he said "just the bill?". No mention of dessert or another drink. Clearly my business isn't welcome here. Waited another 5 mins for my bill to arrive. This place desperately needs a floor manager and to re-evaluate who they employ. This place has been on the decline for a while now but this was easily one of the worst restaurant experiences I have ever had.

    Ordered take-out, which was ready upon my arrival. The person behind the counter was slow and could barely count out basic change. When I arrived home and opened up our bags of food we discovered it was completely the wrong order and it was actually all cold. Though on the outside of the bags had our names on it. We had to call three times to finally get ahold of someone, they realized their mistake and stated they would deliver it to us. Then hang up without getting our address, so we had to call back for a fourth time. It then took another hour for our food to arrive. When the food arrived it was mediocre at best and clearly wasn’t freshly prepared. Honestly extremely disappointing for the price that was paid and we are normally like Swiss chalet

    An always popular stand by for comfort food. You always know that you're going to get good, if not great food, and a nice enjoyable visit. Unless a family with a screening baby happens to be in the next both.

    I will start with saying, dine in is preferable. But I ordered pick up tonight, a simple chicken Caesar salad.... I received a ridiculously small portion of lettuce and no dressing.... Can't believe I spent money on this! Dine-in my salad was so large I couldn't finish it!

    We ordered 3 festive specials from take out section of restaurant, all 3 were cold, missing dressing. The gravy that we were charged extra for was also missing. Ordered 3 pieces of cheese cake, all 3 were soggy and did not include topping requested. Frustrating to pay almost $100 and then prompted for a tip when order was not what we paid for.

    Absolutely LOVE this location. Food is always consistently great. Friendly service and great atmosphere. It is my go to food choice for eat in or dine out when I don't feel like making supper but still want the feel of a home cooked meal.

    This used to be our favorite swiss chalet spot in hfx. We've been dining here for several years. However, the last two visits we had was only met with disappointments. Today, we dined it around 8.30pm for my child's bday. We asked the waiter if kids eat free and was told yes. Apparently this is not true. We got charged for the kids meal even though it says "Kids eat free during their bday" printed on their placemats. We only noticed the charge on our receipt after paying. I brought this to the attention of our server whom by the way for some reason always gives us a snotty feeling or attitude during our last two visits. I was told they don't offer the kids free meal during birthdays. Well if you don't, then don't tell us in the begin that kids get free meal during birthday. We asked our server ahead of time before ordering. I was told they only give a small birthday cake and not free meal anymore. The funny part was our server didn't even mention that we got charge for it and no apologies whatsoever. He asked us if I still want the cake ; I was surprised knowing they're closing in 10 minutes. Of course we declined the offer considering they are closing soon. So, Take a look of the picture that says "Kids eat free during their bday" that is printed on their placemats. Apparently that's not true anymore.

    Ordered take out, got home and something from our order was missing. Called back and after sitting on hold for a while they finally said they would send it over (no apology for the inconvenience). Never came. Not impressed.

    The order by phone staff are extremely rude and got our order wrong TWICE! Ridiculous! Filling out feedback forms is NOT an option for complaints Swiss Chalet! Step up to the plate and train staff better. There is absolutely no excuse for this. PERIOD

    I'm so disappointed in your service. I'm a patient at the VG Hospital in Halifax, Nova Scotia. I placed an order, a very simple order at that!! Yesterday at 6:33pm I called to place my order for delivery, gave instructions on how to deliver to the hospital along with the address of the hospital. The driver went to the wrong hospital first of all, then called to ask where he was going. I informed him, he finally got to the correct hospital but wrong entrance at this time it's been over 45 minutes waiting on said " simple order"! The driver called once again to ask what building he was supposed to be at. I again informed him of the correct building and told him a nurse was going to meet him at security desk with money in exchange for the order. The driver then told me he didn't have time and was leaving WITHOUT delivery the food. I am appalled by this as were the staff here at the hospital. Do better Swiss chalet! 🤬 Saturday July 30th, 2022.
