Absolutely NOT a four-star hotel. It's a low-three at best. The rooms themselves are very dusty, the carpet is ripped, the chairs are stained and old, and the bathrooms are quite small. The staff are trying their best and they were very apologetic about the state of the hotel, but it should not be incumbent on the front line staff to handle complaints about rooms that have not been renovated in at least 15 years. The location and breakfast are excellent, though.

JBL portable speaker got stolen. Told the manager, she told me to make a police report with no concern that her staff are stealing from guests. Basically accused us of bringing it out with us and leaving it elsewhere. Who brings their speaker with them while they go out for lunch? We have travelled to many parts of the world and have NEVER had anything stolen from our room. Manager said she would follow up with us, surprise surprise, she never did. With that being said, obviously no safes in the room. Stayed 4 nights and the sheets were not changed once. Had to constantly ask for towels and at least our beds made. Front desk offered that they bring sheets for me to change the bedding? A/C didn't work at all. Had a really nice maintenance guy come in but it didn't fix the issue. IT WAS SO HOT that I couldn't sleep comfortably and they had no other rooms to move us to. I would NOT recommend this hotel. There are so many better options downtown Halifax. Please reconsider if you are planning on booking here and want to have everything you came with.

Booked 2 nights for a birthday get together. Room was nice - 2 beds, desk, small round table, coffee making station, fridge & clean bathroom. I’d suggest a mirror in the room - probably over the desk area. There was a mirror over the coffee making area, a mirror on the outside of the bathroom door right beside the coffee station & of course a mirror in the bathroom. So all the mirrors were in a small cramped space. Since we booked 2 nights, I assumed the maid would at least drop in clean towels. No. On our way out to supper on our 2nd night, I asked at the front desk if we should have gotten maid service….not for the 2nd night. If we booked a week, we would have had maid service on the 3rd day. Anyways, I requested clean towels & more coffee mugs / plastic cups for our room & they were delivered. We had people in our room for drinks .. so used all our coffee cups so didn’t have coffee the last morning as didn’t want to bother asking for more cups again. We had wanted to have cake for the birthday so I went to the front desk to see about getting a knife to cut the cake - they provided packages of utensils & napkins plus actual plates for us! One nice feature was a water station outside each elevator. Great to refill a water bottle or to take a glass of water to your room instead of having to buy bottled water. We enjoyed about an hour in the pool - it’s large & very nice! We had the pool all to ourselves. There used to be a hot tub but it wasn’t there anymore. My nephew used the gym. Check in & check out went smoothly. The hotel is a great location .. almost anywhere you want to go is about 5-7 minute walk & most places you can get there via a pedway if the weather is not great.

Had an excellent stay here over the weekend! It's centrally located minutes from everything you would want for your Halifax stay and has a wonderful restaurant attached to the hotel. I also like to highlight that we received amazing customer service from Patrick who really went above and beyond to make sure our stay was a 10 on 10. Thank you to everyone for helping us have a wonderful vacation!

The rooms are quite outdated but the location is incredibly convenient. Easily accessible by the wharf walkway and can get you to waterfront quickly. My only complaint is that the keycards are super annoying to deal with as they take multiple tries to work. They are very susceptible to getting demagnetized as well so we had to go down and get a new card. Despite these nuances it was a pretty pleasant stay!

Excellent stay here! Loved the room, it had a balcony overlooking the water. The pool was amazing! Sauna was lovely as well. Pedways to the waterfront were very convenient.

Do not waist your money on this hotel. I had stay for only two days, there is no clean up or room clean up for both days, first day I called before leaving my room and asked just for new towels when I return to my room there were not any new towels, for both days at the hotel someone from the front desk come to open my door for me and even I did has access to my room and for 3 times i had to come downstairs just to has access to my room, In addition i asked them only for bottle of water and they just brought me only one bottle, Next all the plumbing are damage when you are taking shower waters staying and all rooms are super old. I paid almost $170 per night and worst ever experience i ever had, I was at room 727 and never forget this worst experience. This hotel is 2 stars at the maximum rating with my experience with more than 100 hotels. You can not call it even a motel. be careful do not waist your money.

A nice hotel, with helpful staff, a good restaurant and clean room. The location is good, just minutes away from the waterfront, with a nice view of both the citadel and the sea. It's also convenient that the bus to the airport stops right near the door. One issue I had, however, is that the rooms are too chilly (even if you turn the fan off) and the lobby is positively glacial!!

Nice clean rooms, comfy beds. I felt the pillows were too soft. Great location to waterfront with just a short walk up or down the hill. The restaurant in the hotel was great. Parking is expensive, but for the location wasn’t too bad. Staff wasn’t too helpful with pricing; either $26 per day through the hotel or you pay when leaving the parkade, so it depends on whether you’ll be using your car or not. Not secured parking though.

As many have said, the location is great. However, the room smelled musty, was very outdated, and nowhere near worth what we paid to stay here. We were given one washcloth, and when we asked for another, the girl pointed to her cart and said, “ You can see for yourself I don’t have any more.” She said that maybe she could give us one tomorrow, the day we were checking out. The elevator from the parking garage into the hotel was not working, and we had to lug our luggage down multiple pairs of steps. All in all nothing, looks as it did in the photos. On a positive note, the bartender and server were very nice, and we had a very good bowl of chowder in the restaurant.

First trip to Halifax and stayed here. Realized that the location was perfect as it attached to a walking mall and Scotia arena. Just a short walk to the waterfront which is the start of the boardwalk, so very quite hotel and great area to see everything. Breakfast in the morning was amazing. Order off the menu or the full buffet and your day starts on a good note.

We had a great time. Right downtown and close walk to everything. Lots of construction around the parking area. Room was comfortable and kids loved the pool. Will come again!

We stayed for 7 days and we leave tomorrow. Halifax is fantastic and a fun town and we are excited to move here. Google said it was a four-star hotel and I think that is a huge stretch. They don’t offer any room service. However the restaurant in the lobby is quite good. Our room is honestly abysmal, there are holes in the floor and countertops about the size of a pea that feel nasty to walk on. The carpets have to be at least ten years old. They are matted and discoloured and high traffic areas and have a musty smell. A room has no opening window so it was either way too cold or muggy and we had no ability to get any outside air in. We paid 230 a night on Expedia and I wish I had gone with anywhere else. Our key card demagnetized like four times, and after the first time we suspected that it was probably our own fault so we started carrying it around like it was some artifact, but it made no difference. The wallpaper is peeling at every joint and it also looks gross. Had a cool chrome cast feature on the tv though that made it nice but the buttons on the remote didn’t work so it took some finicking to get it to work.

Location is good, room is fair , parking is really inconvenient, elevator is slow. They do have gym and swimming pool although we didn’t use them. The front desk is nice but they asked me $150 for deposit. Like this is my first stay in a hotel in my entire life or I look like I am gonna throw a crazy party in their room and destroy everything. Come on your hotel looks like Halifax general and you are not Marriott or something, give me a break!

Stayed for one night at $342 which was good given the location, however, there was no running water. We were told it would return within an hour and when it did, it was muddy water. Waited another half hour and it remained muddy. We checked out at 11am without a shower. The gentleman at the front upon checkout said it’s the city’s fault, not theirs which is true but at least offer a discount and a sincere apology? Terrible customer service. Not what you’d expect in the hospitality sector at a 4 star hotel.

Great location in downtown Halifax right next to all the DT bus terminal. As expected they have a full service bar and restaurant, some extra amenities such as a gorgeous pool with beautiful sky lights, a patio area and an assortment of conference and ballrooms to fit all your business or personal event needs. Staff are fast at their job and accommodating.

Spent three nights here and it was a wonderful experience, largely thanks to Wonnie at the front desk who shared lots of great recommendations for the city and was so personable and kind. Rooms are fairly basic but served their purpose just fine, and location was excellent for access to downtown Halifax and the waterfront (and other parts of the city if you don’t mind an uphill walk!).

We just stayed one night over a long weekend. The staff at the front desk were amazing, from booking to check out! Leah made our stay extra special and went above and beyond to help us. The restaurant and bar staff were also great. The pool was big with a nice deck area around it. A little cold but still fun. The beds were comfy. The rooms were a bit outdated but we didn't travel there to have a posh room, we were just happy that the beds were comfy and everything was clean. Conveniently located. Definitely will be staying again

The hotel's location is very good, being centrally located. The staff ( with the exception of one waitress in the restaurant) were also friendly and efficient. While the hotel is getting a little worn, it was still good overall. What was not is the room cleaning. We were at the hotel for three nights without our room being cleaned!!! Hotel policy is that rooms are cleaned after the third night on a four day stay. This is unacceptable.

So with the exception of the random very loud noise that happened periodically in our room 5 times in a day and a half it was a descent. If you are hungry they have a decent restaurant if you eat there. There is no room service but you can get “take out” but they will give you a tray with the heavy plates to carry back to your room so you may want to go to a local restaurant to get take out. The location was good but the 1st floor room at the end of the hall way is not a quiet one at all.

This “4 star” hotel is not much better than a backpacking hostel. No Concierge, make up room by request, bathroom is a death trap, lifts are hit and miss, restaurant was less than mediocre. It needs a total renovation. Only good things were the staff and the beds. Never to be repeated.

We stayed for one night to go to a concert at Scotiabank Centre Upon checkin, there was a $250 deposit that I wasn't made aware of prior to coming, all because I paid with a debit card instead of credit. Paid almost $400.00 for a very small room with a tiny bathroom and no windows that open, and no microwave. No complimentary goodies, not even water. No room service... I also found a finger or toenail on my bed on the top comforter. Gross! The stairwells had rat traps on every floor, they obviously have a rodent problem. The drinks were extremley overpriced- Almost 20.00 for 2 coolers. The fan/heater was extremley loud and our cards to get into the room barely worked- we were locked out more than once because the card wouldn't work. When we came back at 11PM, the front door was wide open and no security or staff in site, not very secure if you ask me. The pool area had no towels and there were only 2 small towels in our queen sized room that's supposed to sleep 4. The mini fridge was tiny as well. The water on it's hottest setting was lukewarm and our shampoo dispenser was empty. Very overpriced and no clue how it's considered a 4 star hotel. Wouldn't recommend! I'm not one to complain and I'm far from picky but not at all what we were expecting. Never again!

Overall the hotel is ok, I just expect more for the price. I think you're paying mostly for the downtown location. Breakfast isn't included. The room was clean and comfortable. The hallway carpets in the hotel seem pretty dated. The washroom - overall looks like it was cleaned but the bathtub and wall tiles have water stains (I think), not the best look. The tub kinda fills up with water as you shower, drainage is slow. The tv is supposed to have a system to stream anything from your own devices, however the tv software is so slow, and buggy. We could barely put cable tv on, we basically couldn't use any of the tv features (the remote control was working, it's the tv software). Wi fi is too slow to properly stream a show even in low resolution. Finally, the parking lot is not free, and it's convoluted as it's not directly under the hotel. You need to follow a path and signs to get to the hotel. Things to improve: hotel parking should be included, tv software issues, no microwave in room, no hot tub available, bathroom upgrade needed.

Front desk staff great. Flight delays so we were tired. They gave us a River view. Thanks. Room clean. No problems. I found the hotel maybe a little dated but overall for our 1 night stay it was excellent. 2 queen beds and super shower

The hall carpets were filthy and dingy. Everything felt grungy and dirty. The room felt dingy and dated, I'd give it 6/10 clean, needs a good vacuum around the beds. The patio is nice but overlooks a construction zone. The service was good, you can't blame her for bigger issues. Honestly pretty disappointed

It was a good hotel, the room was pretty far from the elevator. We got the harbour view room with double beds. It Included a balcony and the view was really nice during sunrise. The only down side was that you could hear people outside really loudly. Room service was really nice and helpful. They got us a microwave and helped us with everything we needed. Aside from that the rooms did have an old feel to them and the bathroom was not the greatest! The tiles had dirt on them and the toilet seat was ripped on the side. I've been to lower star hotels with better bathrooms. Also, you can hear people in the hallway really loudly. At times it seemed like they were in the room. The pool and other amenities were awesome and the hotel was inside the Scotia square. We went there a lot and it was nice to just get out and go without having to take the car or put on a jacket. The location was also ideal, walking distance to the citadel (another must see) and the boardwalk. We took lots of strolls in the evening and it was so nice. It was a decent hotel but for the price I paid, I'd rather go somewhere else.

Clean and convenient, it’s a walkable distance to everything. It wasn’t a bad price for Halifax. The restaurant downstairs had very good food, we had breakfast and supper, both were great and the service was good.

We are on night two out of a four night stay. We booked three consecutive nights and then unexpectedly had to add a fourth night the week before our arrival, and I knew we would be having to change rooms. The details of our room bookings have been bumped around and changed six times already, and garaunteed swap from our first room to our second room is no longer applicable, since the staff member I spoke with about it four days ago no longer works here. We have to check out and check back in four hours later. Could have overlooked it, honestly, since the “last minute” (week’s notice) change was on us. But then they changed the room from a king bed to two double beds (we are on our honeymoon, they are aware,) and could only accommodate us if we upgraded our room for an extra $240, which was a great deal apparently. The power went out the first night. The pool has been closed the entire second day, no hot tub. The restaurant staff are lovely and the food is alright but it’s expensive and only open a small portion of the day. Our pre-arrival email stated that the front desk could validate our parking ticket; they cannot, so you pay by the day to park in the designated area next to the hotel. We are really just disappointed. Bed is comfy, room is dark and damp, smells musty, bathroom is very small. Location is great, but there are tons of other hotels all along the waterfront. Won’t be staying here again.

We would stay again because the location worked for us. Walkable to so many sights, restaurants, etc. Our room was spacious, but so many things need updating. The mattress wasn't the grestest. Great big screen TV with lots of extra channels available. The small fridge froze our food. Save using it for beverages only. Parking is extra. About $24/day plus taxes. Convenient access though. We would probably stay there again though.

  • 1/5 Tori D. 2 years ago on Google
If you think this hotel is cheap you are highly mistaken. Your room may be $100CAD a night but every night you stay you gotta pay 20$ extra for parking. Not just this but the restaurant in the hotel is extremly expensive but they basically force you to go there because 1. There is no free breakfast. And 2. The hotel is attached to ScotiaSquare and nothing is open till like 12pm on Saturdays and not even open on Sundays. 3. No appliances in the room such as a microwave or kettle; also the mini fridge is a mini mini fridge. (So have fun with that) We had house keepers knock on our door at 8:30am and trying to come into the room cause they thought we checked out. (Thank God I latched it the night before; they probably would have walked in on us.) This hotel also doesn't have do not disturb signs. The pool was freezing and also - I read that this hotel has a hot tub; they took it out. The room was very well cleaned; only the washroom has no ventilation and it looked like mold was starting to grow on the edge of the trim also they left utensils inside the drawers. 2 were still sealed - 1 was not. I stayed 2 night - but I would have only stayed 1 night if it wasn't for my husband's union Christmas party was being held there. The party looked beautiful - to bad the food was cold.

Excellent incredibly clean room with lovely view of the Harbour . We had no microwave in the room, although there is a fridge, and when I phoned guest services to ask if we could have access (maybe through their kitchen) to heat some left over food in a microwave the reception said she would call me back. 10 minutes later a guys came to our room with a microwave! what service! Beds are comfy, room was way larger than expected. Great location too.

It's very clean, but it doesn't look that good because the building is very old. We live in central Halifax, but we stayed overnight with our family for a celebration here, because there is a pool. But we couldn't used the pool because too too clouded anytime. very disappointed. I should have chosen another pool hotel. Also, my husband and my phone didn't catch here's wifi(not old smart phone), my son's old tablet caught it. What I liked about staying at this hotel was that the room had a large balcony. I specified a room with an ocean view, but I was happy because I didn't think there was a balcony. So my rating is ★3.

The service here is unacceptable and I would recommend against going at all cost. My family and I were staying for three days for thanksgiving holidays. My mom noticed that there was no room service on the second day, but we desperately needed new towels for showering. She then asked the front desk receptionist if she could get housekeeping service, and made sure that the receptionist was aware when we would be leaving the hotel for the day. The receptionist assured her that they would come in after we left. We noticed that the towels were still unchanged when we came back, so I called the front desk again to see if I could get new towels. They told us that there was no housekeeping service, but they could give us new towels. I was confused because that was not the case when my mom asked yesterday. I then headed down the front desk to ask for a clarification. The receptionist was impatient, and asked why don’t I call them instead. He then replied that they would give us new towels in 15 minutes. When I was leaving, the receptionist was whispering to his colleagues about how difficult I was. It was never stated anywhere that housekeeping services is unavailable, and I believe asking for fresh towels is not unreasonable for guests that are staying for more than one night. We were also polite when we asked for towels (for three times), but the response and attitude I got from the receptionist was beyond unprofessional.

This hotel hits a sweet spot on price for the location. The close proximity to downtown without paying $170-200+ a night is what makes it worth considering. The pool and fitness facilities are adequate. Not the best the city has to offer but better than not having them. On-site parking is available, though a bit of a pain and extra cost (which hurts the value aspect). Some parts of the hotel are older and in need of modernizing or even just a fresh coat of paint. It's a dice roll when you book a room where you end up. Our room for this stay was on the first floor and was a bit run down. As an example the older metal railings on the deck needed a good sanding and a fresh coat of rust paint. The room was dated, and weird little things like the two double beds being different heights, broken drain plug, no microwave, etc. The room also had a pretty bad ant issue; they were all over the floor and table near the balcony door, which is a deal breaker for many. Room AC was inadequate; only getting the room cool temporarily then shutting off, allowing the room to heat up 4 or 5 degrees, then kicking back in.. all night. The temperature fluctuations disrupted the sleep of the three adults in the room. For ~$100 or so a night the convenient access to Halifax's downtown core and nightlife is worth it. More than that I would consider the competition of other nearby hotels.

Great service from start to finish! The employees at the front desk and in housekeeping are amazing. The hotel is in a very convenient location and connects right to Scotia Square. Lots of places to eat and shop nearby as well. You can even get to the casino through the pedways without taking a step outside. The board walk is within a 5 minute walk from the hotel. The hotel was very clean. The pool was also nice and clean. It could use a wallpaper and carpet update in the rooms but even still it was cleaned quite well. We would absolutely stay here again. Our whole family had a great time. 2 Adults, a 10 year old and a 2 year old. Loved it!

Check in staff were friendly, efficient and helpful. Our room was clean and the beds were comfy. The balcony was an unexpected surprise, but a great space to enjoy morning coffee while the rest of my family slept. Really liked that it was attached to the Scotia Centre. We splurged to stay downtown so the food court and restaurants were great. Having the hotel attached to the Scotia Centre meant we could effectively exit the hotel on Duke Street which was really nice because it was really hot and humid one of the days. A microwave and a small table on the balcony would have made this stay a bit nicer, but it was great to be within walking distance of downtown. Having a computer attached to a printer in the lounge made checking into our flight home and printing our boarding passes easy. All in all a good sleep and and good place to stay.

The king room facing Harbour was nice. The view was amazing. The bed was clean and very comfortable. The shower head was amazing, like a rain fall. Loved it. Room was clean. The only downside was that the bar didn't have all the right ingredients to make some drinks, had to go to another bar. The carpet in the hallway on third floor definitely needs to be steamed clean.

  • 2/5 Svetlana K. 1 year ago on Google
Location, beds and water pressure in the shower were the only three things we liked. Parking is very far, reception staff was not friendly at the time of check in at all, room was located through the walking of labyrinth, and a/c wouldn't properly work , so it was very hot in our room despite the fact that it was working all the time. Sink and bathtub drains worked poorly, and that carpet flooring definitely seen better days. Way overpriced for the quality provided. Do not recommend.

I stayed here for my wedding and it was a very mixed experience. To begin, the front staff were warm, friendly, and very helpful. They provided a basic rundown of the amenities and were VERY accommodating to our photographer (let her park for free). Unfortunately, that's where the positive feedback ends. When we arrived in the room, we quickly noticed a half-eaten chocolate bar on the floor near the couch. I noticed a member of the cleaning crew outside so I asked them if they could clean it up (which they did). Then, we noticed that the bathroom had a very strange smell. A kind of funky smell which reminded me of dirty mop water. We couldn't find the source but the smell remained for the entire 2 days. Finally, when we opened our mini-fridge, there was a container of half-eaten food inside. I called down to the lobby and they sent a cleaner up to the room. The cleaner just sort of shrugged it off, and barely apologized. The last treat was being woken up on our wedding day to a 6:00 alarm... Needless to say we hadn't set an alarm, but it decided to go off anyway. All in all, a hotel is only as good as it's rooms. Staff / Service / Amenities: 4/5 Room: 1/5

The room wasn't ready for us. No sheets or pillows for the pull out couch or pillows. Also no towels. It took multiple requests and a full day to get everything and a blanket for the pull out never came. The kids had their cozy blankets so it wasn't a big problem. They also wouldn't replace our towels, just didn't, we are here 3 days and nothing dries because of poor ventilation. Pedestrian access to the boardwalk is very difficult. Not the hotels fault but the location isn't an advantage like they would have you believe. I guess I should be giving it 2 stars because it wasn't horrible but I spent the entire time wishing I'd booked a different hotel so that has had an effect on the review. As with other reviews the rooms are very run down and showing their age. We stayed here 15 years ago when it was the delta and it was showing its age then. I don't mind that too much really, it was clean enough and we aren't spending our time in the room. I don't like elevators being out, a mitigating factor is that there are housekeeping elevators so that helps when an elevator is out. Ownership is milking this place for every penny before they fix it up, don't reward bad management and go somewhere else.

I never give 5 stars but my experience at this hotel was above and beyond my expectations. Patrick at front desk was fabulous! Excellent service! Kind, patient and understanding. Clean room. Pool and gym are just perfect. Thank you to all the hard workers who made our stay the most comfortable.

Our first room upon arrival was claimed as clean, but smelled terribly of musty smoke when we entered the room. We called down to the front desk and they moved us to a different room a level up which actually smelled clean when entering. The service we received for that was great. Our room was ok, air conditioner was hit or miss - when it kicked on it was freezing air but once it turned off it was quite stuffy again. The shower in our bathroom was kind of gross as the water did not drain properly and the water would rise to 3/4 of the tub height while having a 20 min shower. The party we were with also mentioned that when they arrived to their room, it had looked like someone had been sleeping in the bed already, sheets and blankets all messed up but the room was labelled “clean” and ready for new guests. They got a new room immediately which was great. We were there for 5 days and 4 nights and not once did our room get cleaned during our stay. The most shocking part of our experience, was when we found a mouse in our room scurrying across the curtain rod. A few others in our party also mentioned there were mice running across the floor of the food court. Luckily we were brought up on a farm and don’t mind mice in general, but it was a huge red flag to see them inside the hotel. We looked up previous reviews for this hotel and found at least 2 other reviews with the mention of mice/rats. Probably wouldn’t return unless there were no other hotel options.

I stayed at Hotel Halifax last night. The person serving me said I didn't pay for garage parking, which i knew i did when i booked the room. I parked outside in disabled parking. I still got charged $30.00 I had to call to get the charge reversed. I know most hotels dont charge someone to park outside in disabled parking. I tried to order room service but they don't offer room service. I think if you have a restaurant at your hotel you should offer room service. I wasn't feeling good enough to go sit and eat at the restaurant. A microwave should be updated in every hotel room. It would be nice warm-up food if needed. The person next to me didn't have any respect for someone else loud waking me up at 1am. very noisy person. The rooms are outdated and old. Please book elsewhere downtown. The prices are outrageous for the quality of the room I stayed at. I wouldn't recommend this hotel. I don't like to be critical, but this experience wasn't a good idea.

We had our wedding in the Bluenose ballroom which was stunning. We fell in love with the room as soon as we saw it. The event staff at the hotel were fantastic and everything looked/ran perfectly. Paul (Day of event manager) and Erine (Bartender & room setup) went above and beyond for us. The food was delicious and the poutine bar was loved by all guests. We did have quite a few issues with the hotel staff side in regards to room service, room cleanliness, administration, and room rates with not just us but with many family members who also stayed at the hotel. Thank you to all the event staff that made our wedding day so special!

Front desk staff are friendly and efficient, seem well-trained and equipped. Room seemed clean. Balcony could have used a wipe down. Your lamps with the metal mesh-like coverings are so, so ugly. An alarm went off at 6am that I did not set. Funny, I just read another review saying the same thing. Wifi was horrific. Extremely slow, I actually had to switch to my data because it's inability to load pages was too frequent. Went down for a coffee at the restaurant, was expecting a mug that could be refilled but was served a medium looking take out cup of it for a whopping $4.75. Ouch. Good coffee though.

Nice location and affordable price. Only stayed for 1 night, but beds were comfy and was a good experience. Only negatives was the bathrooms being very small in the rooms, and to get to and from the south parking lot was a disaster.

Of all the hotels I've been in the bed in this room was by far the best. Lovely room but no microwave 😕 bar fridge. Location was great for walking to hockey game and casino.

Older hotel do room looked a little tired. Staff were super welcoming and yhe restaurant and bar staff made a long night very pleasurable. Would go again just for that experience.

So when I booked room it was free parking and a continental breakfast. Paid a bit more to get a view of the harbour. Thinking this would be a nice end to my vacation. What I got was No free parking and no access to get back in to the hotel from the parking garage, the carpet peeling up from the floor, and an ok view. The stay was annoying since I was 1 person located just down the hall from the pool; with kids running and screaming up and down the hall. There was no breakfast and no one followed up with me from the night before, so no communication from night staff to morning. Sorry, I would never stay here not even if it was paid. Should change to a 2⭐️

A nice, clean, hotel very close to the waterfront. Check in and out were easy. Front desk was polite and friendly. Room was clean and well appointed, including a bar fridge and coffee machine.

The room was very clean. Clean bedding, clean linen all around. The view was decent. I could see the clock tower from my room. Parking is limited and suggest just taking the local bus. It's very easy to get around Halifax. The hotel is directly attached to Scotia square, the mall in the area. The food court area is directly off the hotel entrance to the mall. Friendly staff and decent prices round out the pleasure of my stay.

Friendly staff and a nice pool to swim in. Bed was very comfortable, room was very clean. The only negative...bathrooms need upgrading. Breakfast...portions are large and satisfying. Hotel is conveniently located to all downtown attractions and restaurants.
