Not the cleanest place to stay. Bathroom had hair on the fixtures. Carpet was stained. Found medication and a button from a previous guest on the floor. Not a good thing for a pet friendly designated room and the small puppy we had with us. Proximity to the event being attended was the only saving grace. Wouldn't stay there again. Not recommended.

I was triple charged for one room 1 night any on my VISA Card. Charged three nights of staying just one night and just discovered the over charge when I received my VISA Statement Nov16/23 . In addition the company charged double on my VISA for one additional nights stay on my return trip back to Ontario. Not happy that I have to go through dispute resolution with VISa if not sorted out sooner than later with the Hotel Operator!!!!

Rooms are clean, but walls are paper thin. Breakfast was really good though.

We had a suite with a king-size bedroom. Very spacious, they could improve on their room cleaning and vacuuming of rooms due to carpet allergies. It was brought to their attention and taken care of that same day. Rooms need to be vacuumed every 2 days, especially behind night tables and certain furniture as it collects dust .. We were there for 2 weeks now in June 2023, and overall, it was a nice place .

Not a bad place to stay.....but, unfortunately for us, we arrived while the front clerk was having a snack....extremely curt bordering on rude....... The room itself was basically like any other hotel room......but do exercise a little caution with the shower; the floor is extremely slippery and there isn't a bath mat. There is a pool, although we didn't utilize it. The exercise room isn't currently available, but appears adequately equipped. One of the highlights? THEY HAVE A LAUNDRY on the 2nd floor! A GREAT amenity when you're traveling and swimming in the ocean. The downside is, the washer and dryer accept loonies only, and a dryer load is only 45 minute for $2.......only a tiny load would be dried in that time. There's no change machine, but the front desk will supply loonies (but REALLY didn't want to bother the clerk again......🤨). Alternatively, you could try to use bills in the snack/drink machines on the main floor (which will give change IF you can get the machine to accept your bills). The "Continental Plus" breakfast is somewhat lacking the "Plus" part......essentially an assortment of bagels/muffins/bread, cereal, coffee and juice...... There is adequate parking around the hotel and main floor guests don't have to bring their luggage through the lobby.......they have patio doors to the parking area. Traffic around the hotel is clockwise with two blind corners so exercise a little caution. There is a Tim Hortons adjacent to the hotel, which makes weekday traffic in the vicinity VERY busy.....if you want a Tim Hortons coffee, consider opting for a location down the road. If you're planning on transiting Halifax (to Dartmouth) during rush hour, have an idea where you're going......it's very fast moving. Value for the money? On par if you're trying to avoid Downtown Halifax (traffic or hotel fees).

No wifi or very weak slow one. They even asked me to call the tech support for troubleshooting. Witch I did and the answer is sorry no wifi tonight. We are still working on it. Four nights with no internet.

Great location, We booked through @bringfido we understood the additional pet free at check in of $35 /each. We were also charged an additional $20 for ground floor which I feel should be included in the additional pet policy fee. The beds are very comfortable and the rooms clean. When we first checked in our room had a terrible smoke smell and our request to change was accommodated. The grounds are not well kept, they are completely littered with cigarette buts around the building perimeter. Good grassy area for dogs to relieve themselves.

We arrived in Halifax Friday night and had a nightmare with our AirBnB, and booked a room in the Coastal Inn the same night. After explaining our situation they made sure our room was ready early so we could check-in in the morning. It was an awesome customer experience and I would 100% book this hotel again. We had a big room, which was clean. Breakfast was included, which was as expected. Thanks again for saving our trip!

I stayed at the Coastal Inn in mid-Oct and have recommended it to several people since then so I thought I may as well leave a review! I was pleasantly surprised how spacious the 1 bedroom suite was for the price I paid. I’ve been staying in corporate hotels for work and I’m so glad I tried something different for personal travel because the Coastal was so much better. I loved having a little kitchenette, a living room, and a bathtub. The front lobby feels very cozy and welcoming, and the staff are super friendly.

Good location and decent price. A bit outdated but overall is clean and the amenities are adequate. The front staff was great to deal with, polite friendly a and accommodating. As I mentioned, your basic hotel to stay close to the city centre without paying big.

I was there watching over teenagers. Making sure they stayed in their rooms after 10.PM Staff were very accommodating to me. Provided with a chair while I was working. Had access to a washroom. Hotel is very clean.

Staff were very friendly. The rooms are very tight. Stayed in a room with two queens and one bed was way too close to the sliding door. The TV stopped working twice and the room was not the cleanest. Would stay again if it was a quick stop over, but not for a longer stay than a day or two.

We stayed at the Coastal Inn in Halifax with our 2 dogs while looking for a home in Nova Scotia. In total I was there approx 3 weeks. The staff are you accommodating and friendly. There is plenty of parking if you have a motorhome or trailer and need a hotel for a night. They were able to accommodate our 35 foot motorhome before we put it in storage. They have a very clean salt water pool that is open late and fun for the whole family. The breakfast is typical of many hotels with the usual selection of morning beverages, muffins, granola bars, and if I remember correctly, sometimes fruit. Coastal Inn is situated in Bayers Lake and a 7 minute drive to Walmart. Along the way on Chain Lake Drive there are plenty of other stores, fast food, and gas stations for all of your shopping needs. One thing to be aware of when following Google maps to Coastal Inn, it will tell you that you have arrived when you are in front of the hotel but there is no driving entrance into the lot. You'll need to go around you the back in order to get into their lot. Then you'll need to drive alongside of the hotel to get to the main entrance. Thanks again to the wonderful staff for our time at Coastal Inn Bayers Lake. P.S. Bayers Lake is part of the Halifax Region and 10-15 minutes from the center of Halifax. Enjoy your visit!

Great check in over the phone while travelling on motorcycle trip. Dawn went out of her way to accommodate some weary travellers. Great beds, clean spacious rooms. They didn’t let us park our bikes in the room or let us use room towels to clean the bikes but they did have rags for us.

Amazing service, staff and very clean and neat room. The gentleman who welcomed us last evening was amazing and he helped us a lot during check in and while doing our laundry. The kids enjoyed swimming pool, hotel and breakfast. The only issues that upset me where:- 1- There is no flags of the province New Brunswick nor Halifax but there were alot of other unrelated flags that made me thing they were the province flags 2- The lady at the breakfast didn’t have a smile at all maybe her day was very bad I would recommend this hotel to all after the above points are taking under consideration by the management

Loads of parking. Quiet area. Regular hotel. Only one staff for check in which meant there was a wait. Everyone was nice though. Room was ok, but we found a used shot glass and a used tissue in a corner of the room... cleaning ataff needs to check every corner... Breakfast was bread, cereal, oats or eggos. Some cold boiled eggs. The room was fairly cheap so we can't complain, but it needs to be thoroughly cleaned.

Room was nice. 15 minutes to downtown Halifax. However, we were hit by a full bus of tour tourist in the breakfast room which was a bit messy, during this current pandemic environment although the lady tried her best to clean the room.

Staff were friendly and helpful when we needed them. Items provided in the room were good. Beds were very comfy. For a 3 star hotel, it was quite good.

Friendly helpful staff. This hotel is handy for Peggys Cove, getting back towards the airport, or getting into Halifax p.s. (terrible afternoon traffic). Hwy access is simple. Pool is nice smaller size. Room was fine, clean. One bed lamp light didn't work. Fridge microwave coffee - k cup in room. A/C was a louder one. Parking is easy. Breakfast is simple coffee juice toast, yogurt, cold HB eggs, fruit, cereal etc. Enough to get you started. Overall a nice simple overnight stop for us.

Staying at this hotel was a chore. Not enough staff at the busiest checkin time so we had to wait for quite some time. They lost our reservation and we ended up not getting the king room we paid for. The consolation was 2 queen beds for the same price. Lastly we then were told we would get the remotes for our television in 5 minutes. 1 hour later we had to go remind them that we didn’t have the remotes. Another hour later we still didn’t have them and had to leave for our dinner reservation. On returning to the hotel later on the staff had entered out room when we were not there to drop off the remotes. This I find quite unacceptable as we did not give permission for staff to enter our room. I do not understand why we did not have access to them at check in. If it is a case of them going missing they could hand them to us when checking in. Instead of entering my room when not there. Room was dated but clean. Was not expecting elaborate and the beds were comfortable. Overall look of the place was in reasonable shape. Overall for the price this was not worth it.

I stayed here few times before and never had any problems but this time I have to say I’m pretty disappointed, I usually always book hotels with free breakfast, well this time I found that coastal didn’t have anything much out for breakfast they had bread/toast and couple cereals they didn’t offer no eggs or anything really worth eating I stayed the previous night before at best western at chocolate lake and they actually served a hot breakfast.
