I was very disappointed with my stay at Norse Cove. We planned to stay for two nights, but came home early because it was so uncomfortable. The campsites are SO CLOSE together, and it really ruined the experience for us. The firepits and picnic tables are basically beside each other with absolutely no privacy between the campsites so we heard our neighbours ALL NIGHT. I would not recommend to anyone to camp here. It's unfortunate because the view is beautiful but it is ruined with spending the whole time about 20 feet from strangers with no privacy at all. UPDATE AFTER RESPONSE FROM OWNER: We did not stay at Norse Cove twice. We didn't end up going in July and we decided to go in August instead. Also, I updated the the distance between campsites to about 20 feet (feel free to grab a tape measure and send me the measurements). You can see from the pictures that I added that our sleeping platforms were separated by a picnic table with no privacy at all. As you can see by how they respond to negative reviews, this is an establishment that you should avoid. Terrible management. Threatening to sue someone for a negative review is pathetic - how about taking constructive feedback, listening to your customers and wanting to improve the experience.

Such a beautiful, quiet campsite with lovely owners. They made us feel very welcome and we had a lovely time staying here! Great views out to the bay and the sites were secluded enough that it felt like we had it to ourselves. An absolute hidden gem.

Wow, what a beautiful peace of earth!! Stayed for two nights in October with our RV and had a perfect time. The owners of this place are just wonderful. We felt incredibly welcome. + kayaking was super fun. If you are in the Halifax area, make sure to pass by! 😊

Amazing place. We stayed there a week ago and loved every minute. They don't cram campsites so it's quiet and you have your own space. The views are amazing. The owners are also lovely and really interesting to talk to. We loved this place and if we're ever in Nova Scotia again will definitely be back.

We booked three nights and stayed for five. It’s heaven! Werner and Kim have created a truly blissful retreat that is absolutely perfect for folks that don’t need/want hook-ups, love a serene environment, and love dogs. We greatly appreciated not having to leash our old, sweet dog and the boys in my group were thrilled to have all of the amenities like games, hot showers, and Wi-Fi. There’s a great community space with a variety of games aplenty, a community fridge, and hot tea/coffee water. The lawn in front was perfect for playing and the views, all around, were superb! Icing on a perfect cake: Werner and Kim are remarkably friendly and helpful. I really appreciate that they ask you to show up at a decent hour - no one likes to be disturbed by someone struggling to set up camp in the dark - and they are actually here to warmly greet you and show you where everything is. We didn’t realize that when we booked, as that extra mile is so rare, and were tickled to be treated like a true guest. We *highly recommend* Norse Cove and will definitely be back ourselves (we didn’t even get to the kayaking!)

A wonderful family run business, that doesn't undercut the client's experience to enhance their own profit margins. The owners are kind, thoughtful, and have poured their hearts into their business. We had a great experience both camping and kayaking with this company. We all left smiling :)

Amazing experience, beautiful and dynamic location, the spots are nestled in the forest, right on the water with a buffer of almost "Peggy's Cove-like rocks" (very safe). The amenities are the best I've seen; showers, toilets, a scullery kitchen for dishes and a phone charging station. There's even a rec center like space with games. The owners are absolute gems, get Van into a conversation about the Norse peoples and your sure to learn a thing or two. And this is the dream destination for all the paddlers out there. Check this place out!!

What a beautiful, down to earth campground! The owner was so friendly and inviting, gave us a tour of the grounds and was extremely helpful. The area is absolutely gorgeous, no matter where you looked it was surrounded by water, trees, and the nature we look for when we go escape the city. I will definitely be back, this is my new go to campground! Amazing atmosphere, area, and facilities.

We decided last minute we wanted to get away, we normally tent it but they had a hut available so we decided on that! The beds were comfortable and it was nice and warm! It was a great weekend overall, the camp is kept very well maintained too! The owner and his father and are both super friendly and make you feel right at home! We will definitely be back a few times in the future! Definitely recommend checking this place out.

Our family had a tent site right on the ocean - amazing view! We used the communal area up on the lawn to eat our meals (several picnic tables, two grills) which also had a beautiful view. The dishwashing station was clean and had a door (so no bugs while you wash !!) and there was a fridge to use which was great for re-freezing our ice blocks. Everyone was very friendly and made us feel very comfortable. We want to go back!!

The owners built 8' x 8' or 10' x 10' platforms for the tent sites. There are also RV sites. We stayed at an 8' x 8' tent site. My friend's tent (6 person) was too large for the platform. Luckily, I had a smaller tent (1-2 person). The owner said that we could move up to a 10' x 10' tent site since we were there in the off-season; not as many people around. In order to set up the larger tent, we thanked them and stayed in our original site, with the smaller tent.

What a spot! Great views, really nice landscape and good facilities. Sleeping on a platform was a nice experience. We ended up staying one night vs. two as we weren’t as prepared for the weather as we could have, but hope to catch some better weather on our next visit.

The pictures for camping do not match what the actual spots look like. If you like 4 other campsites on top of you this campground may be enjoyable to you. For parking you have to park and walk to your campsite. For ice we were directed to go to another camp ground that was 30 mins away to buy ice. We had two nights booked and asked for at least a partial refund because we didn’t stay either night because we decided to book another campground our first day there, but we were given no refund. When I talked to the manager about this she basically said tough luck with no interest why we were leaving and any way to make it a better experience.

One of the BEST campsites that I have visited. The views are fantastic, and the facility is clean. To be sure, this will be my "go to place" the next time I visit Nova Scotia. I live in Ontario. The owners, Werner and Kim, "love what they do and do what they love." Their customer focused approach shows in the many wonderful services that they provide. A truly memorable experience. VERY, VERY enjoyable!

The campground is really well thought out for people like me who travel on their bicycles (with a vast sheltered area with access to hot water for drinks as well as a fridge, a dedicated place to charge your devices, a bbq for everyone to use). The tent sites are on little wooden platforms right by the water, offering amazing views of the sea. The owners, Werner and Kim, are very lovely and interesting people who were extremely kind to me.

One of the best nights camping we've ever had in our lives! Van and his two labradoodles made for great hosts and the other guests from all over the world were wonderful to chat with. Greatly looking forward to coming back to this gem of a campsite again!

Hurricane Fiona is predicted to hit all of Nova Scotia on Friday and Saturday, September 23-24 I just called to cancel my reservation for tomorrow night, Thursday, as people are advised to avoid that area. Norse Cove Seaside Camping will not make an exception to their 72 hour cancellation policy. No refund! KOA in Borden/Summerside PEI emailed me this afternoon and encouraged us not to come as our safety this weekend is a priority for them. It says a lot about Norse Cove and their response to the same emergency. Jim Pottebaum Cincinnati, Ohio

A hidden gem, fantastic spot. Great hospitality from the family that runs it. Tent site 8 was too muddy and rocky for us to use our camp chairs. Some low wooden 2x2 ft platforms for chairs would be great 👍🏽 But we have had a lot of rain lately. There’s very little privacy if you’re tenting and have neighbours next to you. But I understand there’s been storms taking out trees.

You can camp right off the ocean, which is great. The tent camping sites have raised floors to set up on. Service is fantastic from everyone you run into that works here The campsite I was on could be opened up a bit, maybe some stairs or a proper path for people not used to trekin forest floor. I didn't mind it but did slip coming in and out, not so great with a full cooler, but other than that great place quiet right on the ocean can't really be beat.

Wonderful quiet campground with kayak rentals for exploring the multitude of islands offshore. Norse theme is extremely well thought out and the site layout is a reflection of that. The small viking style huts are a great way to enjoy camping in just about any weather. Owners are always present and friendly. I really loved the that dogs are allowed off leash and so did my doggo Naki. Definitely have to come back again and again. 5 🌟

Good camping. We rented a hut with two bunk beds for a family of five. There is everything you need, incl. bathrooms, showers, a refrigerator, and a special room with different games and a large meadow nearby, where the children spent most of the day.

We stayed for one night with our travel trailer and our site was right on the water with a beautiful view. I went out along the coast line on my SUP and there were curious seals nearby, which made the experience so memorable. Back at the campground, the owners offer kayaking tours, they have a games room, access to a fridge, hot water, dishwashing facilities and more! The wifi signal reached our trailer at a good distance which was a luxury. I would highly recommend this location, which is dog friendly too.

I went to several campgrounds in Eastern Canada and Europe in a tent with no services and I guess this is the one with the highest amenities I ever had. Wonderful campground close to the sea, super good services (clean washrooms, BBQ accessible freely and under a roof, big shelter with several tables, a fridge, hot water, games for playing outside..., good wifi) and a nice owner. Thank you for sharing this place of earth with campers!

I have camped here 5 times (four in the winter and one in the summer) and I can’t say a single bad thing about the place. It’s perfect. Charging stations for your devices, heated bathrooms in the winter, a nice big outbuilding with games to play if you want to get out of the elements for a bit, and of course the view. The view is like no other. From any camp spot you are just a few feet from the ocean. It’s gorgeous. You’re a half hour away from any amenities in either direction - Sheet Harbour has the best public library around for kids, plus grocery shopping, hardware store, playground. Etc. And in the opposite direction you have the Sobeys in Jeddore and a little further you have the best little coffee shop around - Uprooted.

It was such an amazing weekend. I went in November, so it was only me and 2 other campers. My cabin was right next to the ocean. The sounds and smells were amazing. Washrooms were clean, along with the public bbq's . Then, a large community area inside a building to enjoy warm drinks and play games that are provided. I look forward to returning and doing some more kayak exploring. Oh, did I mention that they have kayak rentles and tours. 🙂
