Discovered this place when I visited my brother in Nova Scotia. I love the idea of a games cafe as a way to discover and try new board games. Given the cost of games, it gives you a chance to try out games before making a purchase. The place is roomy and inviting and the staff are super friendly and helpful. They answered all our questions as we tried to figure the rules to the game we were playing. There is a good selection of games to play and purchase. It is not expensive - $6/person for three hours. You can also buy drinks and food. The naan and dip was good as was the Mac and cheese. Will definitely return during next time I am in Halifax.

Stroller-friendly. It has access to ramp and elevator but you have to buzz them so the staff can come up to open the main door of the building. Best vanilla milkshake my wife tasted. Has Game Boss who checks our table frequently, asking how we’re doing and helping us understand the games.

The Board Room Game Cafe in Halifax has a huge selection of board games, knowledgeable staff, and a nice environment to play games with friends. The board games they have on offer will delight any fans of board games from family and little kids to hardcore gamers. Everything is organized nicely and the staff are helpful in suggesting games that you might enjoy. Great place to visit to play games or learn something new. There is also a new section that’s dedicated to frisbee golf.

A hidden gem! We spent around 5 hours blowing off the week steam with monopoly and scrabble. The garlic parmesan pretzel are 🔥 100% recommended place.

Went there a couple times and really enjoyed it. I’m gonna say it’s a wonderful place to hang out with friends! They have so many good board games, the servers were super patient and helpful! Love their atmosphere too! Their price of food was decent, not a lot of choices but good enough for people who want something while playing the board game. Good place! Definitely will go back again for sure.

They had a huge amount of games available, the servers were nice, they had employees who were willing to explain games to you, and the food was really good. I can't recommend this place enough, it's excellent.

Pretty good environment with a large variety of games. Even the food we ordered was quite delicious. Wished the service was a bit quick as we had to wait considerably for our orders(Probably as they were at full capacity today). Ps. Recommend booking a place ahead of time as they seem quite busy even on weekdays.

I go weekly and definitely enjoy it. They have a very good selection of boardgames and seem knowledgeable about rules and how to play. The food is tasty but a bit on the pricey side if you're going often. Service can be a bit slow on the busy days and sometimes it seems they have issues with their wifi which can cause issues with ordering but, even with all that, the staff is always kind and pleasant. They also offer theme nights like trivia and tabletop rpg nights.

First time coming here after looking at it passing by for months! We did 3 hours at a table, I got the mix and match snacks (great deal for what we got!). The servers were really sweet and the game masters were great for checking up on us! There were so many games, I'll definitely be back to check out more of them! There was also a wide range of people around, a few kids too and they seemed to love it

I’ve been here twice, once on a weekday and once on a weekend and both times the atmosphere and the service were amazing. The food is pretty good, on weekdays the full menu doesn’t come out until 4:30 so keep that in mind if you want a meal and not a snack but the food was good nonetheless. The games were all categorized and well labelled so they could be easily found. We tried a bunch and even bought a few afterwards. The staff were all very friendly and helped with understanding some of the games. This is a place we will definitely go again next time we’re in Halifax.

I really enjoyed a nice quiet afternoon playing board games with my daughter. Very nice atmosphere and good game selection - we even discovered a few games we need to add to our home collection :)

absolutely LOVED the board room! i'm a huge board game geek and this place did not disappoint at all whatsoever. with TONS of different games to choose from, yummy snacks, comfy atmosphere and super friendly & knowledgeable staff, i'd highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a good time. a perfect idea for a date night or just hanging out with family & friends. 10/10 in my books, and i'll definitely be coming back!

Had to visit while in Halifax. A local connection recommended and it is highlighted by a fave content creator on YouTube (Foster the Meeple). Very welcoming and helpful staff. Good food and drink options. Really nice selection of board games in the library, with amazing staff to help with choices and teaching games. Everything from party/family games to heavy strategy games. Retail was a little smaller than expected but they had a good selection. Highly recommend for anyone interested in board games.

Loved it! We played 3 different games over 4 hours. Fantastic atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff, snacks are a huge plus during long gaming hours, and the game selection is impressive. The popcorn is my favourite snack - popped in coconut oil and so good for the price! Hubby loved the pretzel. Highly recommend this place if you want somewhere to play board games and hang out with some friends. Only 6$ stay and play!

i had the best time here!! the staff are so friendly and helpful. they did a great job at explaining a game to me and my friends when we needed assistance, and they all have the perfect balance of checking in but also letting us do our own thing. the food is delicious, and the prices are so so reasonable. they have lots of vegetarian/vegan options on their menu, which i really appreciated as well. they have a super large selection of all kinds of games with so much variety! i am definitely planning to come back here soon

Decent night. Lots of great games and great food. They don’t want you to get drunk so they don’t check in on your drink situation often. That could be better, but very responsible.

Very good! Food is good and the staff are super cool too! The selection of games is great and the environment is cozy. My only compliant is that they give their reservations tables away a little quicker than I think is reasonable. If you're driving and don't pick up when they call you they'll give your table away after only a few minutes. I believe it was 15-20. My group nearly didn't get in until too late to stay on our last visit because the driver was coming from Truro and got delayed. Overall though my experience with this Board game cafe is positive, definitely try their Mac 'n Cheese if you get the chance!

This place was amazing with such great vibes. Tea was great as were the soft pretzels. Games were super fun as was the knowledgable and great teacher that was the staff member known as the game Master. I wish Toronto had a place this good.

A Fun and inviting atmosphere. We always have a blast! Our family has always enjoyed so much our time there playing and eating. Their game selection is extensive. The food is delicious! We have had the mix and match, the pizza, the nachos and the BLT has always been so tasty . The M&M and strawberry milkshakes are so yummy! the smooties and the craft beer great! We would definitely return again and again.

🫤 Overall experience was not pleasant. This was recommended by my friend, so we thought to give it a try. Bartenders was fantastic, very professional and helpful all around, however, the waitress on the other side was completely different. Not only she forget to check on our table for about 35 minutes...
