Dropped in for a coffee before work for the first time and was exceptionally impressed. The store front is located in a market for quick to-go, but if you want to stay in they have an absolutely wonderful upstairs dining area. Very cozy and welcoming. I'll definitely be back! The coffee was great, as were the sweats and staff members!

This place is amazing!! We tasted the best cinnamon bun in the 🌎!!! The almond lemon cake is a dream come true. We order a delicious cappuccino and macchiato, wow it is impossible to describe!!! Definitely I will come back to taste the bambolini and croissant!! Thank you Espresso 46!!!

Absolutely the most beautiful latte and almond croissants I have ever had. I travel by bus from the south end just to go to there. The people are lovely and very helpful as well. Once I tried the latte, which had gorgeous chocolate undertones, I had to buy some of their house blend which they used to make it. I will be back!

Absolutely delicious coffee and pastries (including excellent gluten-free options). Sweet little spot to sit outdoors. Staff are cheerful and friendly and pull excellent espresso! 10s across the board!

There's no doubt about it - this is the most well kept secret of the coffee-loving population of Halifax. Come to the outside order window if you'd like to sit in the sun, otherwise come through the warehouse market entrance and find yourself greeted by friendly staff and a cozy nook. This place manages to feel authentic and impressive while operating out of such a small space. Come here if you want real, italian-made espresso!

Going here is the best part of my day. The staff is incredibly friendly, the items on offer for sweet treats are delectable (try the bomboloni if available or the pesche dolce [an incredible pastry made to look like a peach with either chocolate or vanilla filling]), the sandwiches (Thurs-Sat) are wonderful and the coffee is the best in Halifax. I’m going to go out on a limb and say it’s actually some of the best I’ve ever had, period. The lineups can be long depending on the time of day, but this just provides an opportunity to strike up a conversation with fellow coffee enthusiasts or pet some of the pooches that frequent The Window with their owners.

Best coffee in Halifax. I finally found someone who knows what he does with coffee beans, not only on brewing side but also roasting. Perfect knowledge of descriptors, methods, drinks... This guys deserve a bigger place with more sits!!!! If I say that, believe it!

The lattes are good but there's only one person on the machine so it can be slow with a constant lineup. The espresso 46 roast they also sell is good. limited seating. Parking is a pain.

This is hands down my favourite coffee place in Halifax. They’ve become a neighbourhood fixture through their fantastic coffee and pastries (try the bomboloni when it’s available) and the friendliness that the owners and staff show to everyone. Almost anytime I go, I see multiple customers greeted as friends, by name and small conversations struck while drinks are made and orders are rung up. E46 is the model all small local businesses should be striving for; they’ve rooted themselves firmly into the community and it’s hard to picture the North End without them.

Great coffee and espresso! It's a chill place and even worth the wait in line if you get there after 8:30am. Their prices for how good the coffee is, is unmatched. Best coffee in Halifax Almond croissant is to die for!

We love Espresso 46, they're just the best. Also they have relatively affordable lbs of coffee beans, get the house blend!

Best espresso bevs in Halifax. It is truly a joy every time I grab a drink and a snack. Not to mention the sweet and hardworking staff, you folks are the cherry on top. Highly recommend grabbing a speck and scamorza croissant on Thursday or Friday after 10:30, you won’t be sorry!

Found this place while on vacation from BC. The best cappuccino I’ve had in a long, long time, maybe ever. And I’ve had thousands of cappuccino’s. The staff are so friendly. It’s just a hole in the wall but don’t pass this place up if you’re in the area.

They have a great selection of pastries and savory muffins that are brought in each day and they sell out before close. Great coffee beans and wonderful staff there to make your order. Most days be prepared to wait a bit to order and then receive your coffee but it's well worth it. Check out the tiny farmers market in the building with Espresso 46 while you wait for your beverages.

Excellent coffee experience. Service is attentive and friendly. Many rave about the pastries and muffins but I’ve not experienced many of the offerings. Coffee is exceptionally good and now serving with their own roasted beans. Don’t let the warehouse vibe scare you away. Not only is it neighborhood gathering spot, but for coffee lovers it’s a destination.

Best coffee in Halifax. Always made with love, and worth the wait in line. The baristas seems to make each customer feel special while preparing their drinks. The environment is conducive to sparking random conversations with strangers and other community members, which is a refreshing change from the more insular cafe culture of folks with their laptops and headphones on. This feels like a much needed space for community to converge. Thanks Espresso 46!

This was our 'go to' place for the best coffee and pastries while we were in Halifax this past summer. The oak milk latte was the best I've had in a long time (including what I get here in Boston). Their pastries are delicious, the lemon almond cake is divine. The owner is the nicest most friendly person, very welcoming and warm. If you are in Halifax, go, you will not be disappointed.

Ive been everywhere in Halifax for espresso and this is by far the best Ive tried and its not even close. Then you add the fact that the owner is very friendly and down to earth it makes this a must see for anyone.

It has a 2nd floor! I've been past the place many times not realizing there was a whole 2nd floor of seating. My chair latte was PERFECT. Like, that sweet that isn't overwhelming. Staff are simply sweethearts. And upstairs is a great vibe to chat or work on something.

Had an authentic double cappuccino that not only was delicious, it wrestled my fatigue to the ground a beat it senseless. Seating outside in the sun and in a cute alcove indoors. Apparently more seating upstairs.

Dog friendly walk up coffee window is everything. Lovely humans, delicious coffee, cute atmosphere on the patio out front.

Incredible! Coffee is excellent, the pastries are to die for (would sell an organ for the amoretti), sandwiches are amazing, and the staff are always lovely. Plus you can shop the farmers market while waiting for your order!

Tried most of the coffee's here and without a doubt perfection. Baked goods are delicious as well and the market is awesome. If you like coffee this is the place.

🫤 Overall experience was not pleasant. This was recommended by my friend, so we thought to give it a try. Bartenders was fantastic, very professional and helpful all around, however, the waitress on the other side was completely different. Not only she forget to check on our table for about 35 minutes...
