I ordered two sets of carnitas tacos. They came super sad and wilted, the meat looks like it was left in a warmer all day, it's dry as leather and there's an overwhelming amount of cilantro and very little sauce. It's dry and disgusting. I'm so disappointed that I spent more than $20 on this.

We just had an amazing meal. Whether you like Mexican cuisine or more traditional Canadian fare, Cheachie's is where to go. Their "Mother Cluckin'" chicken fingers were perfectly seasoned and juicy, and the fries were cooked to perfection. Ask for gravy on the side, and you won't be disappointed. My partner had the chicken quesadillas, and they were fabulously flavored and hearty. This place is a wonderful hidden gem that's been in Halifax for years, but still doesn't get the praise that it's due. I think you should give it a shot!

The food here is amazing. The prices are excellent. The three Taco deal for $10 which is a regular menu item is amazing. I have no idea why there are two dollar signs. The prices here are fantastic. The staff are really great to get along with. It feels very family-oriented when you go in there. It feels like being a guest at someone's house but in the good way not the awkward way. I go here as often as I can. The location can be a little tricky to find as it's a bit of a hole in the wall but not too hard and it's definitely worth looking it up on Google Maps. It's right around the corner from Wendy's in a small retail location. I literally can't get enough of this place and actually have to exercise restraint otherwise I would order here all the time

Totally worth the trip. The food was first rate, but shining above all else is the Traditional Margherita. It just my be the best one I've had, and I've had a few...

Grabbed take out this evening. Very friendly owners. While talking it came up about how my son is a picky eater because he is autistic. They made him chicken strips and fries just to see if he likes it and wouldn't accept payment for it. (My son did eat the fries) Burritos I ordered were great as always, we will be back to try more things very soon :P Excellent customer service!!! <3

Staff were super friendly and the food was great! I loved the vibe of the restaurant and how colourfully it was decorated! It’s tucked away out of sight but it’s well worth the find!

The fries tasted and looked like they were fried in old grease. The server was absolutely miserable with everyone that walked through the door, the guy greeting customers was not exactly inviting, either. Definitely will not be returning to this location and stick with Mexico Lindo in Dutch village.

This is by far the best Mexican food my partner and I both have had. Everyone has different taste buds, even us, but we agree on that! You can tell the time and love that went into every part of the food you order. Tacos, Quesadillas, rice, and beans were all outstanding. Extremely flavourful. Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. From the outside and first steps in doesn't look like it'll be the best Mexican food you've had, but don't be fooled, it will be. Decor/Signage/Lighting could be improved but I don't go to restaurants for their decor, I go for the food. And glad I did here!

Fantastic food, and a calm space. Ordered the Beef Barbacoa on the in-house made soft corn tortilla. Couldn’t have been more impressed and quality and effort put into the food. The atmosphere is admittedly different than most places in hfx, but the Mexican food here is only matched by Mexico Lindo’s in my experience.

If you haven't eaten at Cheachie's you're missing out. Halifax has a number of good Mexican restaurants, but this is, by far, the best. It's made from scratch, full of flavour, awesome portion sizes, excellent pricing and really attentive service. My husband and I have gone there a number of times and are always impressed. We loved their Cinco de Mayo event and we've enjoyed their Taco Tuesdays a few times too. They put their heart into their food and it shows. *You've got to try the chimichanga their margarita and their in-house sauces! (They have one for every level of heat).

Although the exterior can make you think twice, DONT! Glad we listened to the many reviews. The food was delicious, well presented and tasted great. The staff were very courteous and truly concerned about making our experience a good one. My kids split a quesadilla and loved it. The owner was present and also made sure we had a nice visit. Would absolutely return!

Best burgers! Strange for a Mexican resto but the burger was delicious. Homemade juicy burger with an amazing foccata bun. We for grace for the tacos but put it on the burger to make it NEXT LEVEL. The tacos were also good, I preferred the flour tortillas to the corn. And the hot sauces were pretty good too, several different options for heat and intensity.

🫤 Overall experience was not pleasant. This was recommended by my friend, so we thought to give it a try. Bartenders was fantastic, very professional and helpful all around, however, the waitress on the other side was completely different. Not only she forget to check on our table for about 35 minutes...
