Went here for my birthday brunch. I had the special - an Eggs Benny with duck confit and a flight of mimosas. The Eggs Benny was probably one of the best I've ever had. Loved the mimosas except for the charcoal lemonade was not my favourite. Service was good. Coffee was great! Menu was creative. Definitely would return. Bright, modern atmosphere. Check this place out.

We had a super brunch at Almonak!! The food was so delicious and of high quality. So glad we made a reservation, it was really busy. We ordered a hot chocolate for a little one at our table and the barista surprised us with a teddy bear ~ So thoughtful. I had the smoked salmon eggs Benny and hubby had the crispy chicken sandwich and they were both so awesome!! We also ordered the Mimosa flight - an absolute MUST!! Check out this fantastic restaurant, where you can dine inside or outside & we also recommend making a reservation. Thanks for the great service Matt and Barrett!! We can’t wait to go back!!

Today was my first visit to Almonak and I would definitely go again! My grandmother (a meat-eater) and myself (a vegetarian) wanted to go out to lunch together and we chose Almonak because of the wide range of diets they cater to (gluten-free, vegan, meat-eaters, etc). Like the other reviews say, it was quite noisy with lots of chatter and music playing. Since we didn't have a reservation, we ended up sitting outside which worked out totally fine as they had blankets, an outdoor heater and an umbrella for Halifax's varying autumn conditions. Our server Matt was wonderful and attentive. He told us it was his first day and we would never have guessed as he was confident and knowledgable. He checked on us multiple times throughout the meal and was keen to help with anything we needed. We both got lattes and Eggs Benedict, and I got the vegan brownie parfait for dessert. They also have vegan milk alternatives for their coffee drinks. The food presentation was 5/5, taste 5/5 and we were overall really impressed. I was also happy to see that their 3 washrooms are gender-neutral and 1/3 is accessible. It was quite busy even on a Thursday so you will likely want to consider making a reservation when you go. I'll be back!!

🚨🚨🚨🚨BEST BREAKFAST ALERT !!! 🚨🚨🍳🥞🧇🥑🥑 A truly elevated breakfast experience. This hidden gem 💎 is a must try. Aidan was super friendly and helpful which made the experience that much better. The food was a perfectly portioned piece of art that tasted way better then it’s beautiful arrangement. There is a nice patio and indoor dinning.

We had a Five Star breakfast at Almonak Halifax. Staff are amazingly friendly. Most of our party had the chicken and waffles, which were amazing. This dish does take a few minutes to prepare. It came with a honey hot sauce. I had the farmer breakfast, but was in envy of the others in our party. They have an Indian spiced dish that I will order next time! We did have the ice cream sandwich for dessert. It was awesome. All around 5 stars and coffee was excellent too.

We were recently at The Almonak for their first ever comedy night. We were really excited to go, as the cafe had been on our list for a few months. We arrived a few minutes early, and I have to say - right from the first minute we walked in the door, the team - all of them - were absolutely excellent; friendly, warm, and chatty. We felt so welcomed in. You can tell that they've put a lot of thought into the physical space too. From the plants on the walls and the ceiling, the clean and pristine washrooms, the open concept kitchen, right down to the name plate on our table - it felt like they were expecting us and that's a really awesome feeling and makes for such a great experience. The show itself was amazing. Such a great crowd and just the right size (in my opinion) with a good number of comedians. They did a great reminder at the beginning not to have loud conversations and to be respectful of the comedians. From the check-in at the door, to the protocol in-between comedians you can tell safety is a huge priority for them, too. One of the things I was most excited about was the select pub menu for the night. Excellent options, all of which were executed really well. My personal favourite was the cornbread waffle with pulled chicken and spring onions. Swoon! My husband really enjoyed the sausage roll. My only piece of feedback was that the portions felt a little small for the cost. We ordered four of the small plates (which were $6/ea) and one big plate (which was $12/ea) and we could have easily eaten more. Not bad when the only criticism I have of the food is that I wanted more of it. Ha! The quality was on point, and it made us even more excited to go back again another time to try their infamous brunch. Oh! I also had a London Fog and it was, quite frankly, the most delicious one I've ever tasted. I would go back simply for one of those. Overall, really really awesome little nook in Halifax. Highly recommend!

Absolutely delicious brunch. We had the breakfast sammie, dirty rice, Cesar flight, and some delicious coffee. The staff was so warm, friendly, and attentive. Was really a great experience and would highly recommend.

Probably the best eggs benedict I’ve ever had, homemade biscuit was bomb, potatoes were seasoned perfectly, salad was so light and fresh- highly recommend! Our lattes were so delicious and the staff was so nice, we got an iced americano and peppermint mocha to go which were also superb.

Almonak was exactly what we were looking for our first meal in Halifax! We were really happy with our meal and the service, we would definitely recommend. Pictured: lavender oatmilk latte, eggs benny (1x with ham, 1x with tofu), chocolate strawberry trifle.

This place never disappoints! I’m lucky enough to travel to Halifax quite frequently for work and Almonak is always number 1 on my list! 👌 I’ve been dining here since it opened and am continuously impressed by this place! Such a bright inviting space and the staff knowledgeable, warm and pleasant. I’ve been so many times that I’ve had the chance to try many menu items and really enjoy the culinary creativity and local fresh ingredients. Those house made biscuits with the bennys though.. Wow. 🤯 All the Cafe options are also such a huge draw for me. This last time our table shared the chicken and waffles. Nailed it! Just simply love this little gem!! See you next time Almonak. I genuinely always look forward to visiting. Thank you.

Good vegetarian options including real fake meats bacon! I got the tofu eggs Benedict and the tofu wasn't the best, but everything else was delicious! Good hollandaise sauce and coffee:) service was incredibly friendly, loved our server!

When i walked in I wasn’t greeted. I had to stand there looking around for 5 minutes for someone to come. When we were seated it was a dark corner with no light. We then ordered the blume beetroot and lavender latte and buttermilk biscuit which was okay. The waitress was always in a hurry and the whole place had such an empty hostile vibe. After seeing this place in The Coast voating, i had high hopes

The smoked salmon focaccia in 2022 and 2023 😅 I did prefer the previous version... I'll pay the extra if it's due to inflation!! Apart from that, their food is good, juices are amazing. Good service.

Really enjoyed our first time at Almonak for brunch! The space is beautifully put together, with a lovely Cafè side and then dining area. Staff were all very friendly and trained well. The Thanksgiving Eggs Benny was a fun take on Benny that was very enjoyable. The French toast was rich and sweet, which was exactly what you wanted. It's definitely a good experience. The price point was fairly high, though.

Absolutely in love with Almonak!!! The team is super friendly and they serve up the best recommendations along side the delicious eats. Fave dish is between the salmon eggs Benny and chicken and waffles with poached eggs on top! Oh and the mimosas are beyond… freshly squeezed juice served in the cutest little taster flights…yum and a cheers to that!!! Highly recommend checking this brunch spot out!

My partner and I had such a great dining experience at Almonak. The food was amazing and the atmosphere was perfect for brunch. Thank you to our server Sam for going above and beyond as a server. She was so welcoming and friendly and we were very impressed with her attentiveness even when the restaurant got busy. She was so helpful when suggesting dishes and altering the dishes due to my food interolances which I really appreciated. We enjoyed our brunch here so much, we are already planning our next visit!

Finally made a reservation to try this local brunch spot on a rainy Saturday morning. Delicious twists on chicken burger and eggs benedict. Only downside was the acoustics. So loud it made for difficult table talk.

Amazing place to eat at great atmosphere, service and food. Special shout out to Kat who greets everyone so warmly and makes the entire environment feel like a family vibe. She is positive, relaxed and makes everyone feel welcomed. She went out of her way also to re locate me outside as I have some hearing issues even during a busy time to accomodate my needs. Shout out to Nick who was my server twice and was amazing! Very friendly, professional and great! I think what makes almonak such a great spot is they have an amazing team which makes the entire experience so warm and enjoyable. Only critique is because of the popularity it can get very loud inside and feel a little close to other people.

My wife was excited about the pumpkin-spiced french toast but we were both disappointed with it. It was a pumpkin-spiced loaf with too much syrup and cream on top. The 3 egg breakfast with the real fake bacon was delicious though. They had good service as well.

We had a reservation and it took them a while to seat us. Not a fan of the person working the door and seating the guests. The service was redeemed by our excellent server. He was friendly and very attentive. We took him up on his recommendations for food and drinks and had no regrets. The blueberry mimosas were wonderful. The duck confit eggs benny was delicious and the cheese and cranberry sauce paired so well with it! Would definitely recommend this place for brunch!

Had a wonderful brunch experience on a holiday! Front of house did the best they could with seating, as we did not have a reservation. It was an enjoyable time with good brunch food. Spanish latte was a delightful start.

We loved our dining experience at the Almonak. The food was worth a bit of wait as it was busy: It was Sunday mid morning; prime Brunch time, so next time I will be making a reservation. I enjoyed especially how my capers were crisped on the Smoked Salmon Focaccia. So Yum! The Almonak has a clean and hip and trendy vibe to it.

Really busy during brunch, so better reserve or be prepared to wait. The plates were delicious, we took the breakfast plate and the chicken waffle extra eggs. They also have fresh juices and a good selection of kombucha. The service was really long, i don't know if it's always like that or we were unlucky.

The food felt quite pricey for what it was. We got the dirty rice and breakfast sandwich and neither had very much flavour. The breakfast sandwich advertised coming with potatoes but there were only a few. The inside dining was quite loud and our service was fine.
