Can’t go inside but lots of signage outside describing the history and purpose of the Prince of Wales Tower. Neat spot to stop by for some photos and learning.

I like to take the family to Point Pleasant Park and visit this old fortification. It is interesting to be able to sort of step back in history in such a magnificent old building.

Even though the tower was closed due to Covid, it is still nice to stroll around the structure. You can learn about the history of the tower and its purpose.

It's a really awesome piece of history. Great informative plates to tell the history of this secret Halifax treasure. The building is also big enough to provide a lot of shade on hot sunny days like today.

Really massive historic site, made out of stones. It began construction in about 1797, and was primarily used as a defence barrack and protect from any landward attacks. Now, there are only the remains without any access to the inside.

Great park and beautiful structure. I recommend visiting. Taking one star off, because Edward, the ghost that inhabits the structure, did not appear to greet us ☹️

Historic site of Halifax. Nice weather and scenery but you cannot get inside the the tower.

The tower was locked up when we were there. I do not know if you can ever get into it. Parking was a bit difficult to work out. We ended up parking in a residential neighborhood and walked through the dog park to get there. The walk is very uphill so be prepared. Nice park, but unless it is open to see inside only come here if you like uphill walks through heavily treed parks.

Edward says hi to me all the time here. He truly is the funniest ghost you’ll meet in the city. He only greets the worthy.
