Free for July and August, it worth it ! A lot of airplanes, helicopters and airplane motors. It was so cool. Planned an hour, easily, to visit the museum. The only negative point is the shop, they don't have enough RCAF stuff 🤷‍♀️

Highly recommended for every aviation fan in the area! For its relatively small size with only two hangars, this museum has quite a lot of aircraft to show (more than 20!). A mix between civil and military craft, most from 1960-1980 and also many additional items, pictures and (local) stories. The staff is very friendly and clearly consists of dedicated aviation fans! Entry is for free but donations are very welcome and there is also a huge collection of model aircraft kits to purchase (also very rare ones already out of production).

It’s free to visit here but they do recommend you to donate $8 per person for the museum’s maintenance and renovations. It’s wonderful to pick one of delicate air-model to master your patience at home. There are tons of air-models for sale with both no tax and 10% off due to non-profits institution. In addition, the museum only open to the public on Saturday. Don’t hurry to buy model on weekdays !😉

Amazing experience. It was not a big one but they have an impressive collection of planes in the hanger. You don't have to buy tickets before entry. The museum works on donation. Had a good time.

Super interesting spot to stop in Halifax/Dartmouth area. Two minutes from the airport. Good parking and washrooms. Excellent volunteer staff (including knowledgeable retired commercial pilots). Large selection of models for sale, new and refurbished.

Very nice and friendly staff, as well as an interesting museum for both children and adults. You can enter the planes and look at them from the inside.

One of the highlights of our trip. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. They have an incredible selection of model plane kits. The hangar is beautiful and there is lots to read and explore. Plenty of things for the kids to stay interested too.

Is a small free museum but there are so much to see and the gift shop is a model builder's dream. Makes you wonder how they get all the planes in the building, Good to spend some time before heading to the airport. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area. Highly recommended.

Excellent little aviation museum. Highlight was the children's simulator, every aviation museum should have one, kids get to have a hands on experience with levers and switches! Model selection of the gift shop is also excellent. Highly recommend for any aviation enthusiast to visit. Just be sure to bring cash for the admission donation.

I'm an airplane nerd, and this place was basically heaven. We didn't know about it and I just happened to see the CF-101 Voodoo as we drove by. Once my partner looked it up and saw that they had a CF-104 Starfighter in the museum, we immediately turned around and went to check it out. A lot of interesting aircraft and well done pieces on display, and a gift shop that doubles as one of the best model kit shops for aircraft I've seen. If you like aviation, you owe it to yourself to stop in!

It's a fantastic museum that does a lot with a fairly small amount of space. There are some really cool exhibits and a few unique planes and helicopters on display. The gift shop has thousands of model kits for sale.

Great little place filled with tones of planes, plane engines and information. Admission was a donation but it was a great place all the volunteers were so knowledgeable and happy to take their time with you. The museum also has some interactive pieces such as a matching thrilled to look at all the engines on display. Nice gift shop too with lots of model plane kits. Great place to learn all about aviation !!

Fascinating museum! Great collection of different aircrafts and engines. Each aircraft has an informative description, many interesting stories related to them. Specs are provided for the engines, which was cool to learn. Learned more about aviation than ever before. The interactive maps and the scaled airport models with LEDs are very innovative! Lots of real artifacts from the aviation history, as well as a great amount of real historical events with pictures and interesting facts! Many events from WWII are described as well. The giftshop is awesome - full of plane models, assemble kits, T-shirts, and more. Knowledgeable and nice guides. Thought of spending only an hour there, but stayed for 3 hours, and left very impressed! Great and unique place that immerses you fully into the history of aviation. This museum is absolutely worth putting on the top attraction list.

It’s near the airport and although not well-advertised, this hidden gem was worth the visit. There were several cool aircraft important in Canada’s history. As well, our museum guide was knowledgeable and answered a lot of questions for us.

Nice place to go when you wait for flight or just drive by, as it has quite a collection and few visitors there. Learn that Halifax airport took most diverted flights in 911 terror attack. I always thought it was Newfoundland airport but... Bought 3 plane models to support the museum: they have a big collection or inventory of plane models, either for display or for assembly.

I wasn't plan to come and it was a last minute idea to kill time. It was an eye opener and we really enjoying looking at all the aviation history. Btw this place is not free and there is an suggested donation of 8 dollar per person.
