👍👍 Wow! Wow! Wow! Last night was our first visit to Mabata, and it definitely won’t be our last. It is such a classy, cozy and inviting space. As you walk in the door you are greeted with so many welcoming smiles and once you are seated you are given the story of the restaurant and it’s Chef. A Lovely... I was there for opening night, what an amazing place. Very stylish and classy, I loved every dish. Tried the fish cakes and pumpkin croquettes which are incredible, for mains we tried the chicken burger, so flavorful with an Asian twist. My girlfriend loved the falafel burger it is great as a vegetarian option. This is unlike anything that we've seen in Halifax. The prices were also good and the service excellent! We are making if this a must when visiting our family in Halifax

The chicken burger was un.real! We had lobster dumplings to start and then my gf and I ordered the chicken and falafel burgers. Delicious! I’m happy that we finally have such a restaurant in Halifax. Definitely recommend going there. The Chef came to our table and asked us how we liked our dishes. Ps. Prices are super reasonable for a bottle of wine as well.

From start to finish we had an amazing experience! The service was excellent! The food was absolutely incredible, with great portions and completely reasonable pricing. We cannot wait to come back and try Brunch some weekend soon!

Our friends were RAVING about the meals they've had here in recent months so friends and I made reservations to dine here for our girls' Christmas dinner. The location is handy, lots of parking and the decor is simple and really nice. The staff was amazing, only topped by the dishes we ordered. We started with the ponzu fried chicken and dynamite cauliflower which were both delicious (even the friend who doesn't love cauliflower was living the cauliflower). We then moved to mains where we ordered the mushroom & sea truffle risotto, the king oyster mushroom & barley, and the filet mignon steak frites. Not only was the food delicious, everything came out so artfully prepared with so much thought put into everything placed on each plate. Even though we were stuffed, we ordered two desserts to share - the chocolate ganache and the eggnog bread pudding with homemade ice cream. What an incredible dining experience! We have already decided that we are heading back again in a couple of weeks for a birthday celebration! This is an amazing restaurant find in Halifax!

Truly a treat for the tastebuds. If you like elevated cuisine at an affordable price this is the place for you. We had the vegan tasting menu which was fantastic. Very bold flavours that all worked together in perfect harmony. We also tried the Rizzotto, oysters, falafel, and a take on Japanese poutine with a nori reduction which was unbelievable. Not to mention that they make a "maritime siracha" which is fire in more ways than one. I will definitely be back.

Mabata is so much more than a restaurant. It is an experience - the kind of experience you will take home with you and recall fondly until the next time you can return. Mabata is a foodie paradise with unique delicious dishes served in unique ways, explained by friendly and knowledgeable staff and chefs. This is a place you go to celebrate your anniversary, to treat your Valentine, or to impress your favourite friends. Amazing place with a great ambience, a welcoming owner, wait staff who meet your every need, explaining every dish and paired wine, and chefs you will think came from Michelin starred restaurant. Don't put it off. Reserve your spot for a special celebration. Order the Chef's Selection with paired wines. Sit back and enjoy!

It was our first time and we had the 5-course tasting and it was an excellent choice! They do know how to surprise our taste buds! We started with some croquette, then some chicken, mushroom risotto, then steak. We then ended up with 2 kinds of dessert with the chef himself serving it to us. Truly a wonderful experience of global taste using local produce. #GLocal

The staff has incredible knowledge regarding all of their menu options, which are incredible. Best fish cakes I've had in a restaurant, prepared by a chef who is incredibly qualified. The location is a little odd, but definitely worth visiting for a fine dining experience (but not necessarily if you want a LOT of food)

My first visit to this fine restaurant and certainly not my last. One of the finest meals I have had in Halifax. We both ordered the chef’sfresh pasta of the day, lobster, scallops, etc.and it was no doubt one of the finest, if not the finest pasta I have eaten. The server was incredible, very knowledgeable and explained all food presentations to us, (we shared the cheese & Charcuterie Board as an appetizer, truly amazing). A wonderful evening and I recommend it to all.

🫤 Overall experience was not pleasant. This was recommended by my friend, so we thought to give it a try. Bartenders was fantastic, very professional and helpful all around, however, the waitress on the other side was completely different. Not only she forget to check on our table for about 35 minutes...
