If you are visiting Peggy's Cove, stopping by for a bite here is mandatory. You will be in awe of the view while eating your favourite seafood entrée. I always go either the seafood chowder, the absolute best! Was not a fan of the lobster butter (yes, I know shocking eh) service was great, waited a few minutes at the door to be seated but that didn't matter as the whole experience was amazing. What are you waiting for? Stop by and enjoy!

Fantastic experience! We ordered a 2 piece fish and chips and a lobster roll. Both dishes were great but the fish and chips was particularly amazing, the batter was thin and crispy and the fish was wonderfully seasoned! The server was attentive and prompt and the prices were very good!

While touring Peggy’s Cove, in the afternoon we stopped on the outdoors patio for a bit to eat( fish& chips and a beer). The meal was hot and the tasted great! We then ordered some fresh ginger bread for dessert!

We went there during our visit to Peggy's Cove. Nice location right at the lighthouse. We ordered a Lobster dinner, a Lobster sandwich and fish and chips. The prices were a little bit on the pricey side. Lobster was $34 dollars a pound. Food was good especially the fish and chips. The Lobster was delicious but I would have preferred the lobster to be cracked and seasoned for me. I didn't like fighting with trying to get the meat from the shell. But overall the food was good. It probably be a one time place though. Would like to try the other restaurants there as well.

The only sit down place at Peggy’s cove, with an amazing view of the lighthouse right from your table. Had a lobster and fisherman’s breakfast with fish cakes. Pricing was reasonable given the location.

Edit- I returned for a second visit. Trying the mac and cheese. My work crew and I decided to check out Peggy's Cove while we are here working from out of province. We got to the restaurant not too long before the kitchen was closing. Tami, the wonderful lady who served us, was amazing. She mentioned the kitchen was closing soon, but she was more than happy to serve us. We all knew what we wanted, so we didn't need menus. We ordered a round of drinks that came out quickly. Our food did not take that long as well. The lobster roll, fries, and gravy were really tasty. The others had fish and chips, which they enjoyed. We finished our meals and asked if we wanted our bills (not rushing us out in any means). We had to head out anyway. The food was really good. But the service made the food even better. So, Tami, thank you for making our experience one we will remember for a long time, and I hope we can get there again before we leave once we're done work out here.

The souvenir shop is amazing with a variety of collectables. We visited on a Sunday evening and it was pretty busy. The staff were friendly but it took a lot of time to serve. We did not want to miss the sunset to rushed out without having water as they weren't quick enough. We had haddock fish and chips for dinner, it was quite a decent portion as we couldn't finish it and packed it for home. The hot Chocolate wasn't perfect as the consistency was pretty thin.

Had a lovely dinner with my family in a gorgeous setting, as we literally could see the Peggy's Cove Lighthouse from our table. In terms of our experience, our food was tasty, our server very friendly, while the attached gift shop had a lot of fun items. As for prices, this is definitely a tourist restaurant, though not unreasonable so. While I am sure we could have eaten cheaper lobster elsewhere, there is no way we would have found anywhere else with such a stunning view.

Love that the appetizers and drinks are all 1/2 price between I beleive 4 and 6PM. We tried their Bruschetta, and it was really fresh and great, I just personally did not like the balsamic vinegar on it. We also tried their Deep Fried Pepperoni, and it was delicious. As the main meal, it was only ok, I had their hamburger with rice, and it comes with lettuce, tomato, and fresh onions. My friend took their lobster roll, and it definitely wasn't worth the price compared to other place as there is lots of salad under and not lots of lobster for the price you pay. Would we make an effort to eat here? No, but if we were there and we were hungry, would I eat there again? Yes.

The Missus and I, our boys and two family renegades had lunch at the Sou'Wester. We knew it was the only eatery on the Peggy Cove's site and decided to chance it. After being seated, it took another 20 minutes before a waitress took our orders. This was with a relatively empty dining area. Our server seemed to be preoccupied with other matters. The food was average at best. The clubhouse was made from turkey salad, the fish burger was very oily and the lobster roll had a meager portion of filling. With the prices being paid, our expections were higher in terms of food quality. Especially, compared to other restaurants in our Maritimes' travels. While dining, a tour group entered the restaurant. Our server looked at another and both rolled their eyes. It projects to other customers they didn't want to be there and this is not good for business. It destroys the ambience. Maybe it was an off day at the Sou'Wester.

Can't not enjoy a meal with that view in the background but lucky for them the food is great as well. That lobster roll was gooooooooood and the fish and chips was one of the better ones I've had. Considering the location of the restaurant they could easily charge a lot more and people would pay so it was a wonderful surprise to see that the prices were on par with other restaurants in the area. Service, at least for our group, was so so however. The waitress kept bringing us the wrong drinks and seemed generally confused. That didn't stop us from having a wonderful time however, how could you not with the waves of the ocean crashing around in the background.

Amazing setting with spectacular views. Food was average and items are expensive - as expected. We ordered fish and chips and the lobster mac and cheese. My partner said his fish tasted a bit “old. There wasn’t much lobster in my pasta even though it was tasty. Our server was friendly and the wait time was reasonable.

I didn't eat here so I cannot comment on that aspect, but the gift shop is conveniently located right next to washrooms and the edge of the boardwalk to the Lighthouse. There are many cool items here at decent prices. I did not feel like I was being taken advantage of like some other tourist shops. There will very likely be something for everyone on your shopping list, even yourself. The staff are pretty quick too with their two registers. The people I bought souvenirs for from here were quite pleased.

Came here for dinner. The garlic shrimp were delicious! And the Nova Scotia fish and chips were amazing. Very flavorful and filling. And the apple crisp dessert was well presented and sweet!

Now *this* is how you do fish-n-chips! Light crispy batter, tasty tartar, golden fries with a fresh coleslaw!! It doesn’t get any better than this!! …. Unless you add in the stellar views and the amazing friendly service! Already looking forward to my next visit!!!

Enjoyed the food & experience at Sou’ Wester! Didn’t know there would be such an amazing restaurant nearby the light house. Food was delicious, quick, prices were very reasonable. We got the mussels & lobster and it was fresh! Will definitely be come back next time we come by Peggy’s cove!

Perfect Nova Scotia diner with all the traditional dishes (as well as a few modern ones - lobster tacos and lobster nachos? Never had that growing up!) They have a huge ships wheel hanging in the middle. The service is fantastic, the view outstanding. I recommend the chowder!

Here is a perfect seafood restaurant where we can enjoy delicious food with see a memorable lighthouse my family since Dec 2021. We enjoyed steamed mussels, a lobster sandwich, and a seafood chowder. They were so yummy and the service was so nice, too.

Can’t beat the location of this restaurant, situated in close proximity to the lighthouse and overlooking the ocean—Sou’Wester offers a beautiful view while dining. The staff are so incredibly friendly! The lady serving coffee was the nicest person ever. The food was only average though… the scallops were not the best and it was hard to discern any lobster flavour in the lobster club sandwich (mayonnaise drowned it out). The fries were quite tasty though!

This was the only food place open at 6pm when we arrived. We saw on the menu it was quite expensive but decided to order the Philly cheesesteak special which was only 17.99. It came rather quickly and was fresh and delicious. A fantastic portion as well. The server was very attentive and it was a great atmosphere. Will be back for sure!

Was the only place open while I was visiting Peggys Cove. Great place to stop. The drinks were good, the service was great, they recommended great food too. I had the Seafood Chowda and the Lobster Mac and Cheese. I would recommend both of them as they were very tasty!

The on-site restaurant and gift shop at Peggy's Cove. Value is reasonable, given the tourist-heavy location. Expect a modest wait at peak times in the summer. We sat on the patio and the food was tasty. Our server was very nice.

Great gift shop that has a lot of selection. Had a great view of the ocean and the atmosphere was quite nice. The lobster roll was good but didn't feel like it was worth the price. There bun felt like your average hotdog buns. The fish of the fish and chips was a bit hard and burnt from being overcooked, and was too oily. Staffs were very friendly though. Overall, it was good but not great.

We went to Peggy’s Cove and this restaurant was located beside it, so we decided to have our dinner here. We ordered the Halibut Dinner, Lobster Mac & Cheese and Oysters. We also had their bread with the lobster butter. Oh so delicious!!! Sundhea was very friendly and she recommended the Halibut dinner and it was really good! I would recommend dining here if you are in Peggy’s Cove. Convenient location and reasonable prices.

Ordered veggie sandwich with fries, sides of garden salad along with sangria and a strawberry daiquiri. The drinks were okayish, felt like very light on alcohol. The salad was good but I did not like the burger. Would probably try lobster next time. An extra star for the location. Try to find a table to enjoy the lovely sunset.

The staff was very helpful and accommodating for our special request. We had a superb patio spot and the servers were exceptionally well doing their job. Great training? Great boss? The food was outstanding. Great Halibut Dinner, great oysters and very good lobster roll. Was worth doing the three courses. Thank you very much for the great evening.

Super fun experience. Our server was lovely and so kind. I ordered the lobster and has a great time getting the tasty parts out. It was delicious and a great time. The lobster macaroni was also very good. I will for sure visit again for some amazing lobster!

I visited the Sou'Wester Restaurant for the first time on June 21st, 2022. The experience was amazing. After checking out the beautiful view near the lighthouse, you can dine in at this wonderful restaurant with fantastic food and even better service. The lobsters that you eat are in a tank at the front of the restaurant! I had ordered the steamed lobster which was incredibly fresh. The meal was prepared with care. It was my first time eating lobster and it was an unforgettable experience! The best part of the restaurant was the lovely staff who served our food, seated us, and engaged in conversation with us. They all made us feel like part of the Sou'Wester family! A special shout out to Jen and Kelley who were amazing, friendly, and hilarious. They helped us out the entire time and they were the best part of my trip to Halifax! Thank you Jen and Kelley!

Great establishment. Came here with my grandmother and mother as part of a trip to Montréal and Halifax. Large selection and variety of souvenirs at a decent price. Though we did not eat at it, the restaurant looks nice and welcoming. Great place to come when visiting Peggy’s Cove.

👍👍 The best lobster roll I have ever had in my life. I didn’t enjoy Nova Scotia that much but Peggy’s Cove was my favourite part and Tom’s Lobster Shack was a major reason for that. Amazing!
