Dorothee designed a ring for my wife’s birthday. She was very attentive to my wife’s interests and the ring turned out beautifully. I purchased a Maple Leaf sterling silver ring to replace my worn out thin wedding ring from Dorothee at a craft fair last summer in Halifax. The ring is very special to me because it has an intricate imprint of a maple leaf. I recently had to replace the ring after losing it in the surf in Maui and quickly contacted Dorothee to replace it when I returned home. I first discovered Dorothée's jewelry in a small gallery in Antigonish, Nova Scotia where I purchased a "1 footer" necklace and two "1 footer" rings.  I absolutely love the pieces.  Dorothée's designs are so unique and well crafted, which attracted me to her creations in the first place.  I just purchased two pairs of earrings from Dorothée, which are equally exquisite.

A very special thank you to Dorothee Rosen for my “born again” ring! I selected one of Dorothee Rosen’s silver rings at the Designer’s Craft Show approximately three years ago as a Christmas present from my daughters. This ring was worn on my baby finger and I loved the intricate design of it. Unfortunately, as I now have arthritis in my finger joints, I have had to remove it permanently. I decided to contact Dorothee Rosen after reading her article in the Refined Halifax magazine. In the time frame of 3 hours I had emailed her asking if there was anything that could be done about my ring. She replied immediately and invited me to her studio where she worked on resizing my ring to perfectly fit my finger. I left there a very happy client wearing what looked like a brand new beautiful ring. She is such a pleasant person and I also was given advice on a holistic remedy for arthritis. Just over a week ago I contacted Dorothee as I had lost my beloved twofooter ring that I had bought from Toronto's AGO a few years ago. Dorothee immediately messaged me back and helped me nail down exactly what ring I wanted and how I would like it to be wound. She sent me photos and made sure she understood what I wanted. In just a few days it was made and mailed and I received it a week after I first contacted her, all beautifully wrapped with real care and attention. I have just purchased my second ring from Dorothee and I have to say that the 2 rings are both so comfortable that I sometimes forget that they are on and I kind of jump until I touch or look at them to confirm they are still there. Which is novel for me. I have gotten used to my original one, the weight and fit, so I don't often worry about it. But I have never had rings in my life that have been comfortable enough to wear all day, every day. And working with Dorothee is such a pleasure, she takes amazing care of her customers even long after the transactions are complete!

This spring I received the best surprise ever - a custom-designed diamond ring. An exciting occasion for any person for sure, but for me it was truly special, given my age and the fact that I had never aspired to owning anything so beautiful. My partner suggested a couple of local designers, and Dorothée Rosen easily stood out as the right one for us. Our experience was a very pleasant one from start to finish, not just because she is a very professional and gifted goldsmith, but because she was so invested in our happiness. The business part of it was easy, with reasonable terms and the ability to sign off on everything electronically. Our visits were pure joy, having Dorothée there to guide us through our design decisions and helping us choose those unique touches that made it all very personal to us. Plus, we got to see “where the magic happens!” It was difficult deciding which type of gold to go with, so she accommodated me by using my favourite two! I have a truly unique, absolutely gorgeous ring. Thinking back on the day we went to pick it up still makes me smile. After my Special Someone put it on my finger and I had a few minutes to admire it, it occurred to me that perhaps it was meant to be worn the other way around.
