I LOOK LIKE A GREASE MONKEY. Got home from the Salon today and just wanted to cry. My hair has no body, very limp and so clumpy from the oily, greasy texture. On top of that, the flat iron burnt me 15 times, so my scalp hurts. I’ve never had a silk press this painful or results this bad. She was notified that I am being treated for my dermatitis which causes a very dry and sensitive scalp. I have an event tomorrow and now I have to stress about finding some place else to fix my hair. My hair is gross and I’m beyond upset. Not worth the time or money. Edit. Few days after and I have open bruises on my scalp from the flat iron burns. Awful experience, just awful. I’ve emailed and they don’t even have the manners to reply.

I moved into Miami in July and 4days after, someone recommended I try Miami X which I did. She charged me $300. $250 for a hair that wasn’t full. $35 for washing and $15 for extensions. I called got and was told I can do walk in and when I got to the office I felt tossed because I was told they didn’t know who picked my call. A stylist I chose to keep anonymous was kind enough to take me for an appointment. I was there at 11:30am. She asked me to come back at about 3pm and I went back at 3pm and she told me to hold on and I waited until she started making my hair at 6pm and I never complained. My hair finished like 11pm and I got back home to realize that the tips of my hair was rough. I called back and the lady whose number was on the card was helpful to give me the stylist number. The stylist was very nice, I’ll give it to her but I went back there and had a chat with another stylist as I was trying to get an appointment for my daughters and she felt sad. So as she fixes the tip of my hair, she was practically loud as she told me to always ask well before making my hair or choosing a stylist and a braid style. I didn’t like her tone but I had to let that fly. I met someone who told me that she has never paid $250 in the past 10yrs of her life making her hair here. Anyways, I will try again hopefully I’ll get a better hair done.

First time there great experience. Called and got everything resolved. Appointment was great. Now second time, tried to get a cost for a service and sent images they requested but never heard back. Crickets. Not even a were still checking or we can’t do it. Just nothing. Not sure what happened but will be looking for another place.

Made my appointment with ASH. When I tell you she slayed my color! She gave me the most vibrant blue with a peekaboo of purple. She did such an amazing job. My hair is natural and I was scared that my curl pattern may be altered. But after color and a silk press, I washed my hair and my beautiful curls came right back. Ash was professional, on time, and very knowledgeable about natural hair care. She took her time explaining what was best for my hair. If you want a TRUE SILK PRESS AND/OR COLOR, go to Miami X and be sure to book with Ash, she will make sure you have the right MIAMI X-PERIENCE! Side note: Trust her and let her trim those ends, you will be glad you did, I know I am. I included a picture of my hair before and after the trim in the review.

Last week found online, liked the reviews, made an appt. I ran late, called and arrived 10 minutes after scheduled. Tech was still working on client before me, so waited another 20 minutes, which I was okay with. I wanted a mani/pedi with regular polish--I don't do gel. It was not until I was in the chair that the tech told me (1) she doesn't work with regular polish (not mentioned on website); (2) the prices/services on the website are not accurate as each tech contracts and sets their own prices (again, not mentioned on the website). The tech was professional and courteous, but though there was regular polish available in the shop, told me she doesn't like working with regular polish and, therefore chooses not to. So, a wasted evening and no nail job. 😑

Had my hair done here about 2.5 weeks ago. Wanted to give it a couple of weeks to leave a honest review / see if the braids held up and last. I had smedium size, “extra long” braids. The price was $300 and $50 extra for “extra long” and I tipped $30. Hair was not included or an option so I went and picked it up and paid $50. A wash/ blow out was not included but added complimentary which I appreciated. I am from Chicago and needed a place fast, they let me do a walk in and accommodated me last minute. Customer service was instantly 10/10. The owner, and the woman who washed my hair (queen I believe her name was) were absolutely fantastic. The girls braiding my hair were also a pleasure however this is the longest time I’ve ever sat in a chair 5pm start 1am leave and the most I’ve ever paid for braids and I’m not 100% happy with the parts in the front, they are uneven. My braids go down to my butt which I wouldn’t consider “extra” long or worth $50 extra dollars. I usually have my braids go down to my knees and I would pay $50 extra for that. I consider myself spoiled by chicago and New York prices which are famously $200 any size any length HAIR INCLUDED which is so important, and I am in the chair for 4 hours tops. . All in all I could have flew home, had my hair done and flew back and saved a couple dollars. However the customer service here makes up for that. I look forward to coming back and trying a different style. I watched Queen do 2 heads in the same amount of time I sat for my head so I will give her a try next time. Thank you Miami X!

I called for an appointment and went in Thursday as a walk-in for a wig install and Ash said that she was double booked, but she could do me friday at 1pm. Came back Thursday and Ash was getting her hair and nails done so she could go on Vacation so a different girl did my hair. It took her 4 HOURS TO PUT A WIG ON MY HEAD. She bleached the knots (I could still see the knots) while I was there and did her nails in between. My hair was greasy and stingy. All the girls that knew how to lay a wig are gone. Never going back.

Wig Install November 2023 I was satisfied with my appointment. My wig was installed perfectly. This is my third time coming to this shop. Walk-ins are welcomed. No complaints at all. Fyi you do have to drop your wig off 24 hours in advance. Also I came with my hair washed/dried which was optional. Be sure to check out their IG page as well to see the quality of work.

Great customer service considering that there are many stations the workers greet you and direct you where to go. My only concern would be the waiting area seats it’s a bit uncomfortable but nonetheless my experience was amazing. Shoutout to a wonderful nail tech @_richgirlaesthetics

The customer service was great. Came in on Saturday. Made an appointment for Sunday did get rescheduled to another person, but she did a great job will come back again.

I have been coming to Miami X for about 3 years now and never had a bad experience. My stylist Queen did an amazing job on my Large Knotless Braids. I received so many compliments. I highly recommend this establishment for all your hair care needs.

I’ve been coming here for 3 years now and have been getting my hair braided and slayed by the one and only miss Queen. She always leaves me looking so beautiful. Edit with stylist name: I had an appointment with Queen and flew in from overseas to wash and retwist my locs. When I arrived, she was doing someone else’s hair that whole time and when she was finished she just left. I waited for over two hours and my appointment was not honored. My first experience was good but after what happened today, I’m never coming back.

Ericka was absolutely amazing. She had a positive demeanor and is extremely talented. I am not from FL, but she made me feel at home. She is an asset to this establishment.

I came in on Sunday afternoon to get my daughter hair done. My first appointment was canceled by the stylist then she rescheduled for a Sunday appointment instead. On that day I came in 15min early, so I don’t be late for the appointment. But she wasn’t there, I waited for her when it was time for my appointment. She came in 30mins late, she didn’t even apologized to us or explain herself. She was unprofessional for coming in late not evening saying sorry. The style I gave her to do my daughter hair it’s not what she did, she did something else. But the style came out good and the braid was neat. I will continue coming because I like how she braid. That why I gave 3 star not 1 star.

I originally received box braids at this salon. I came in for a touchup about a week and a half ago and a different lady did my touchup. Tell me how all of the braids that the lady touched up in the front and the back came out within a week so now my hair is looking crazy and I tried to call the salon owner. He said he was gonna call me back and never received a call back and does not answer his phone so I’m extremely frustrated will not be returning here to get my hair braided. I was charged $50 for a touchup that didn’t even last a week. There’s no way that braids should just be falling out my hair left and right. If you do decide to go here ask for Candace her braids don’t fall out your hair after a week.
