This hotel is not what is use to be. Hotel use to be so alive back in the 90's and early 2000's. I remember playing in the arcade and shopping and now everything is run down, the hotel mall is empty, no more restaurants inside, no more breakfast carts or coffee. not sure why they keep this up anymore. Even though it is Historic this hotel really needs some ugrading to it.

Do not waste your time booking a place here. Mildew and roaches is the best you will get with this resort. As of posting this, the power has been out for nearly 3 days; with no sense of urgency to fixing the issue. Never been so close to punching a security guard due to snarky remarks.

A very quiet beach, with its shower, toys and all the restaurants and bars very close.

Age 30-35 This place is an absolute pile of trash. I did not stay here, but I thought about it when I was looking for a place for our vacation. I read all the reviews and decided not to stay. On our trip I decided to walk by and check it out to see if all the poor reviews were true. The hotel and pool area is sooooo run down. It is in a very sketchy end of the boardwalk. This whole section of the boardwalk is sketchy with lots of run down businesses and loitering suspicious characters. There were zero people at the pool, probably because the entire pool area had yellow caution tape everywhere. The shop downstiars right off the boardwalk had a rack outside but inside was locked, yet open?. As I was looking at the clothing rack a lady ran over and asked If I needed something. I said I was looking and then casually mentioned how I wanted to look inside as well. She literally told me I had to come back after I showered because I had on sunscreen. I'm sorry what?! I can't look in your BEACHFRONT STORE because I'm wearing sunscreen in Florida, on the beach?!. We walked away. We were going to take a jump in the ocean but I felt like we would honestly get robbed if we put our stuff down so we waited until we were more north near our amazing hotel (The Tides) to do so. Trust the bad reviews and stay sway!

The host is A+++++!!!Room is absolutely beautifully decorated, clean, stocked, and the extra beach gear available to borrow is a really cool bonus. The view of the aqua water and palms from the bed is just breathtaking. Location is perfect just steps from the beach and walking distance to everything. 2 of us are reviewing. The hotel is almost 100 years old. It's old Florida, historic & cool. The vibe here is definitely chill. Our room is modern, clean, stocked with beach or pool stuff(wasn't expecting that, a nice thoughtful touch) & has a water view. Will definitely return & will recommend to friends & family.

I love this place my room is beautiful well stocked on the beach yes it's an old building that used to be a mall yes the carpets are a little mildewy in the hallway what do you expect out of an old building in Florida next to the beach. I love the staff they have security right when you walk in they were very friendly and helpful I enjoyed my stay I booked it through Airbnb and I enjoyed it very much I would love to come back again my host was Marco.

We rented an Airbnb in this resort. Based on the 4+ star review on Airbnb and the fact that Airbnb told me I'd found a "gem", I booked it and didn't fully investigate the hotel. Our room was fine, the amenities were falling apart, and in some cases parts of the building are condemned. Staff was rude and the building reeked of smoke, cigarette and otherwise. That said location is awesome, but the prices versus condition of the resort versus similarly priced options, made us feel bamboozled.

If you are thinking about the historical hotel you are at the good place and it was a good place to go 5 years ago. Now it's a sad smelly place. Not a resort anymore it's a rental place for a bit richer than poor people 😢. Outside it's a beautiful historical hotel inside they could renovate or maintain a bit but not! With the hotel you have an old mall but everything is closed now. It's really sad all the reviews are old and it don't represent what it now. If this doesn't mind to you, you are in a good place in front of the water, close to a lot of restaurants on the boardwalk and stores. If someone could buy this wonderful historical hotel and put money in it, it could be a great place as it was!

We stayed in a privately owned unit (225) and had a good experience. Our unit was clean and had all the basics. The resort itself is very old and most of the commercial spaces are abandoned. The common areas are still originally furnished and the structure itself is badly in need of renovation, so if you are looking for fancy and modern this isn’t the place for you. That said, the facilities were clean and security did a fabulous job of keeping things quiet. The hotel front desk staff wasn’t the best but since we were renting from an owner, we didn’t have a lot of dealings with them. The one problem we experienced was that everything smelled like marijuana. Although a non-smoking facility, it was obvious people do smoke...probably in the private units. We didn’t smell cigarettes so there was at least that. The old elevators were particularly smelly and a bit scary at times. The location was nice. The ghost legends attached to the hotel are an interesting addition and overall, we enjoyed our stay.

Building needs updated. Very musty! Security at front and pool that barks orders. But there's bums all over around and people smoking weed throughout building. Only positive is location and a pool.

Me and my significant other came to celebrate our anniversary due to being sold by the nice pictures we saw online but THE ROOM LOOKED NOTHING LIKE THE PICTURES! The room wasn't clean. Several flies. If you're thirsty make sure you bring your own beverages because everything is overpriced including water. Vending machine carries select beverages. They don't have an ice machine. They have over $60 of hidden Hotel fees. Parking is 20$ a night. Rundown and abandoned. Hotel needs a face lift and some tlc.

No. This place is old, moldy and abandoned. The positive reviews must be fake because i cant believe anyone would be content staying here, unless you had absolutely no other place to go.

The bathrooms need renovation badly and I found a roach in my room but other than that the place is ok. I would only recommend staying here if you will be out and need a cheap place to stay...

The unit I stayed in was great. The buildings first floor is a mostly deserted shopping mall that the security team doesn't police very well, so at times there are shaddy looking folks hang around outside and inside the entrance.. no complaints other than that. It would be more occupied if they could fix that.

If all you need is a good clean place to sleep and make meals at a low price this was great. It is outdated and there is a stinky elevator but there are 3 .we only got it once. Elevators are pretty quick. Bed was comfortable, I have a bad back and have had trouble sleeping on beds in hotel but I slept well. We were on the 7th floor internal front and had a gorgeous view (pic isn't as good). It's right out the back to the boardwalk. It has a small convenience store inside.

Garbage hotel, very bad service. Stay at your own risk!

Beautiful place, but it seems to be abandoned, I don't know why! It has a lot of potential... it seems like each room has an owner... if you want to stay there, be careful, choose one that is good. For those who are detached, the cost-benefit can be worth it.
