The booking and reservation phase is just horrible. Cannot believe no online platform available in the year 2022 and has to go through emails and offers. There's room available yet the team needs to make it so complicated, that no reservations/ room chage in order to have a desired booking is possible. We've had high hopes but are very disappointed.

A beautiful place to stay with great facilities. The staff are friendly and very attentive. Peter the owner was very nice despite our language barriers. Kids loved it here. Outdoor pool is great with amazing views. Kids club great and lots of activities organised each day. Fishing lake is great to use. A couple areas where could do with improvements. Seems there are flies everywhere and especially when eating. It’s not great seeing the buffet food with flies hovering around all the time. The evening meal was generally ok, but lunchtime meals very pool for the money. I would say not even 3 star standard. Choice generally poor and not the highest standard. The rooms were a great size and well equipped with very good housekeeping service. Also clean and well maintained. Overall, had a pleasant stay, just the lunchtime food which brings it down to a 4 star review overall.

My daughter, 9, says: this is the best hotel to stay in, we have been here about 6 times and it is the most wonderful hotel i've ever been to. The staff are very nice and friendly and it is great for families with kids of any age. There is the amazing indoor playground and a baby lounge. There is the new outdoor pool and it has a snack bar with lots of pastries. And don't forget the amazing happy club everybody is so friendly and the best to talk to and there is a quiet area for babies to sleep in. The buffet for breakfast is extraordinary, and also for lunch and dessert and dinner you get a little colouring book for your children. There is also a gym and a spa right next to the indoor pool with different types of saunas. and I'll leave the rest for you to discover...

We enjoyed a wonderful week at the Seitenalm. The staff were incredibly friendly and made us feel very welcome. The range of activities on offer for the kids and family was excellent. While we were there, we hardly had to think about anything, as everything could be arranged through the reception for us! Our 5 year old enjoyed the fantastic Ski course (organised through the hotel, as well as the in house kids' ski hire!), while our 2 year old enjoyed being in the Happy club (not something she'd ever done before given her clingy nature). When I asked the kids what I should write in this review, they told me to say that the Seitenalm is "Super-cool"! We hope to be back next year!

Our recent stay was the 2nd time we've stayed at Die Seitenalm and on both occasions, it's been a fantastic place to stay and the best place we've ever been with our kids - I can't praise it highly enough. The hotel is family run and has a very friendly atmosphere - the service is excellent in all areas. The hotel is in a very nice part of Austria, close to good facilities in local towns and villages but in a very peaceful location. As a result of it's location, it is a very safe place for kids and we were quite happy to let them play on their own which we haven't done elsewhere. There are numerous things for the kids to do and a kids club with a good programme is available (although we didn't use it). The food is traditional and very well cooked and presented (and plentiful!). One nice touch is that the kids can eat from a self service buffet while the adults have a menu which means the kids finish quickly and can go and play and leave the parents to have a peaceful dinner :) Given the location, it is natural that the hotel is aimed primarily at German speaking guests but for non-German speakers, the staff all speak some English and everything important (eg, Menus) is also available in English. For us, the chance to let the kids experience the Austrian culture is part of the fun and at no point did we feel that there was a language barrier. There are very few negatives to speak of - the only (very) minor criticism is that the wifi coverage is quite poor in the rooms (it is good in the common areas) and so could do with an upgrade. In summary - Die Seitenalm is a great hotel for active families - highly recommended

We loved the place and its serviceminded and friendly staff. We were 13 people from Sweden, 8 adults and 5 children (age 2-6) and everything was perfect. As not all of us were able to speak German, we can tell that English was not a problem. Those who are speaking the language agree to everything already mentioned in the notices in German. We can strongly recommend Seitenalm!!!

Great experience for our 2 1/2 year old child. Good food. Welcoming staff. Big rooms. Many many many activities.
