Gorgeous to watch the sun set right over the harbour. Not very crowded as it’s off season, but still amazing food and prices honestly comparable to a similar quality restaurant in the states. They even added a special anniversary dessert on the house!

View was absolutely stunning! I recommend the mango lemon drop as a drink! It was so good! The prices here are high which I didn't mind but the food was mediocre at best. Ceviche as an appetizer was good! For the meal I got salmon on the grill with a side of Mexican rice and Broccoli. They never brought out my Mexican rice and when I kept asking about it they said it's coming. I got frustrated and just said forget it. My bf got his Mexican rice and it was atrocious so I didn't feel bad about not getting mine. My bf got a steak and it was also mediocre. I thought this was more of a high end restaurant so had bigger expectations. But if you're looking for views, vibes and drinks and some appetizers then this place is for you!

We were excited that 1609 finally opened on October 1st, since it is in such an awesome location! Dinner did not disappoint - gorgeous views of the sunset and the harbor. I had the lobster carbonara which was excellent!! My spouse had the ribs which were fall off the bone tender. We went back again the next night and both had the tenderloin which was cooked perfectly, and the golden shrimp are not to be missed. Our server was Trinity who was great (seriously, our water and wine glasses were never empty!). Lloyd the manager made our night super special and made this night out without the kids something very special and memorable. We hope to be back soon!

Love the drinks and the lobster roll. Had 3 drinks and a lobster roll the check was $93 with tips. I won't say it was cheap, but over all the taste of drinks and food was excellent.

Every time we dine there it is a wonderful experience. The shrimp appie is delightful and the food is always consistantly delicious. The view is up close and personal. Apart from the food the staff are extremely fabulous. A huge shout out to Ashley for making our afternoon joyous and an unforgetful experience. Absolutely reccomend 1609, for a fun filled experience drop in and enjoy.

This place is beautiful. Although the view is perfection, it is second only to the delicious food. I recommend the scallops alongside any cocktail. The service is impeccable. What may be noteworthy, that is worthy of note, the staff are rather sexy. While dreaming of them for dessert, I stumbled upon "bundinho" which was maybe the best thing I've ever eaten in. Their caramel is also homade–gritty, slightly burnt... Bliss. Cheers mates.

The food looked and tasted amazing, the drinks are incredibly refreshing and I was very thankful they had a wide selection of vegetarian options , definitely try the veggie tacos. However, the best parts about this place was the breath taking views and the friendly staff, who make you feel right at home! Definitely book a table during sunset for the best views!

Very light and airy place with awning type windows open to allow the bay breeze to flow through the restaurant. You sit and enjoy the marine traffic and sip your beer or cocktail with a huge grin. The food and service was good too.

Location = 10 | Food = 8.5 | Service = 1. For the price the service is horrific. We sat at the bar, took 10 minutes just to get a menu and waited at least 5 minutes just to get the attention of the staff to order a drink, food, or get the bill. The staff actively avoided the gaze of patrons at the bar looking for service. When you ask your guests to spend $200 on a meal you should hold yourself to a higher standard than this. The management of 1609 should treat their patrons better. It was a great meal in a very beautiful place that was still somehow disappointing.

Great place with great views overlooking the ocean with sufficient air circulation. The ambience is relaxing, the food is great and the staff are generally friendly, professional and welcoming

Food is hit or miss but ambiance is great. We have eaten here a lot because it’s so convenient when staying at the Hamilton. We love the shrimp the most. Fish can be over cooked.

This restaurant is tucked behind the adjoining hotel and other accommodations nearby. It has a spectacular view of the harbor, although I would say that their food is nothing to rave about. Staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, especially considering that one among our party included an elderly gentleman who required a gait aid for walking. Check it out when you're in Hamilton

Just arrived at the Hamilton Princess & Beach Club for a vacation. I had dinner at 1609 (it's right on the property). I really enjoyed my meal (Mexican Burger/Fries) and the atmosphere. I highly recommend this restaurant. 👌

Nice location with a view on the harbor. Great service. We got golden shrimp appetizer (deep fried shrimp) which was too fried for us. We also got Roasted snapper which was good. Steak Flat bread and salad were ok. Drinks were really good.

We can't rave ENOUGH about this restaurant. Not only is the food fantastic, but the ambiance, view and service was absolutely delightful. Steven was an incredible waiter, who recommended all of our favorite dishes. We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting or living in Bermuda!

Staff was friendly, attentive to our needs and professional. View was spectacular. Several meals were had. The fish tacos can't be recommended as three people got them and the fish was dry, the sauce and presentation could help it. So, skip that. Otherwise everyone else at the table had phenomenal meals! Can't go wrong otherwise!

The view is amazing. The wait staff is really nice. The food is mediocre at best. One filet of swordfish was cooked appropriately the other was completely over done. I’d suggest a drink and appetizer and skip the mains. I was hoping for more seafood but there was very little to chose From on the menu.

1609 itself is a beautiful space, they’ve reopened with a new menu and a new vibe, I love it. I’ve always enjoyed the space but they’ve really out done themselves with their revamp. Josephine took phenomenal care of us tonight, it felt as if every time we needed her, she was already there on hand. We will absolutely be back! Looking forward to the summer.

The most delicious guacamole I have ever tasted, the grilled watermelon garnished was on point! The short rib quesadillas was well seasoned and tender. The mango mojito did not disappoint. I will be back before I depart to the mainland.

Absolutely love dining here, the atmosphere and view is phenomenal, drinks are well made and the food delicious. The service from Aldrin D'Souza was top notch, making sure we were satisfied and topping up our water. The new menu was interesting and the food well seasoned and unique, especially in Bermuda.

A beautiful place, with impeccable and personalised service from Jessa our server. We sat next to the window for our special date, overlooking the sunset as it set across the bay. It's a beautiful walk up from the Hamilton Princess, and a trendy restaurant. The food was delicious, and we were treated by the staff to a 'happy anniversary' dessert. A memorable part of our time in Bermuda.

I am embarrassed to say that I had never been to 1609 before. Friends treated me to a birthday lunch, and I ended up going back another 2 times within a 2 week period. The tequila cocktails had me coming back for more along with the excellent service and spectacular menu!

The location is one of the best in town. The views of the harbor are great The waitstaff was very friendly (which we found in most places on Bermuda), but inconsistent. Our initial impression of the staff was great but they then seem to disappear when we needed them. In the end, they were very friendly but it was hard to get their attention Apparently the restaurant just reopened and they whole operation seemed to be still trying to figure out how to deal with customers! In terms of food, the menu looks very interesting. However, the food was consistently under seasoned and somewhat without flavor. The empanadas were pretty good although on the small side. The skirt steak had absolutely no flavor and was over cooked, so we sent it back. The short rib was pretty good but also under seasoned. We went back a second time but only for cocktails We imagine that the sunset from one of the window tables would be potentially spectacular and maybe even worth the spotty food and service! We hope the restaurant gets better with more days being opened and customer feedback.

Beautiful views and ambiance. The Hamilton Princess is worth the price of admission for the amazing art and friendly team just walking through the lobby. Three fresh fish meals including Mahi Ceviche, Fish Tacos and Swordfish Steaks…and I must say as a fry guy…em were some great fries!! Service was over the top for a mid-afternoon visit and Abhi did a great job keeping us smiling, suggesting proper sides and keeping us hydrated. Well Done by All!!

Value's mainly in the view. I started with the cevice than had the lobster roll. My partner in dine had the 1609 burger then we finished with a bespoke sundae. Everything was just ok. Expected a bit more from the food given the prices. Hot fries would have been great and maybe a house made ketchup to dip them in. I would go back for that sundae though!

Had a great lunch. Waterside balcony seats with a gentle breeze. There was no smell of dead fish which many places have a hint of near a bay like this. Pricey for sure but the quality and service matched up well. The satay and lobster were tasty and well prepared. Staff was attentive and friendly. Portions were hearty so there was no room to try out the "bespoke sundae."

This is part of the Hamilton Princess, bit of a trek to get to, but the views from here are amazing. The food is lovely and the drinks are usually OK. Again, pricey but quality.

Underwhelming over priced experience. I understand that Bermuda is expensive but I would expect more from a spot like this. The views and restaurant it's self is beautiful. However the food was okay at best. We started with the crab dip which was actually quite good. Our main course was scallops and the steak. The 4 scallops had little to no flavor and for the price I would have expected at least 6. The steak was of grocery store quality. The $14 ice cream came with "3" scoops from the world's smallest ice cream scooper. Place didn't live up to our expectations.

Had a fantastic time at the bar directly outside of 1609. The bar served a limited menu from the restaurant and I swear the wings were some of the best I ever tasted in life!!😋dreamed about those wings for a few days after.

The atmosphere was serene with an excellent view of the sunset...so nice. The staff was courteous, service exceptional with a covid concious attitude. A little boy broke a glass at his table and it was like a swat team. Two minutes and 3 attendants later, it was like it never happened all with gloves and masks. Did I mention family friendly, Yes, you should go :)

It was my second visit to Bermuda and I met up with my friend Eric who is also one of the chefs at 1609. We had drinks and at his recommendation I order the BBQ pork ribs for dinner. The fries were crisp and well seasoned and the fennel slaw was interesting and fresh. Of course the ribs were deliciously sauced and fall off the bone tender. Definitely a place to check out, especially for a great view of the sunset over the water from your table.

  • 4/5 Denise B. 4 years ago on Google
I felt that the atmosphere, service & quality was top notch. However, the price for the quantity of food per serving was not on par. 4 scallops is an appetizer not a main course entree meal serving. And to charge $32 & even addl charge for sides maybe highway robbery. My husband had two tiny pieces of corn which were less than two inches and it was $6....I can buy several ears of corn for $1 @ home....I understand that food costs substantially more in the islands BUT...COME ON!

We were in Bermuda to celebrate a 60th birthday with 9 people (2 generations). A local friend recommended this restaurant for the view and the cocktails. We made a reservations but they were not ready for us and ended up putting us far from the window and near the bar and service area. The set up of the table was not great for conversation with the whole group and the waiter was okay. Nevertheless, the food was great and the other 8 had a great time. As the organizer, I was a little disappointed that we did not get a place by the window and that they were not more focused on our comfort. Great food selection, variety of cocktails, nice wine list. If I went again, I would be more assertive, when I made the reservation, to be near the window looking out onto the bay rather than to the hotel.

I went to 1609 with my husband, his co-worker and my infant daughter (9 weeks old). We wanted to grab a quick drink - I walked in pushing my stroller and asked if we could sit at the bar. We were shown seats and given drinks. My daughter quietly sat in her stroller for nearly an hour, I fed her in her stroller, but the problem arose when I picked up my daughter to burp her after her feeding. I was told by an employee that we could not have children at the bar as it was against the law. I understand that the law is the law; however, this situation could have been better handled! We should have had ‘the law’ explained to us before being seated at the bar. And I seriously can’t belive someone actually told a new monther that she couldn’t hold her infant daughter - the staff needs more training as anyone who has ever even seen an infant knows that at some point they will need to be picked up! My daughter can hardly hold her on head up yet - what trouble is she getting into at the bar? We were offered a table by the employee who scolded us but instead we decided to leave. We come to Bermuda several times a year and always make a stop at 1609 - sadly this is our last visit to 1609 and we will be telling friends and family to avoid as well. The view is nice, but not unique enough to put up with rudeness and insensitivity!

👍👍 Everything is 5-star at Harry’s. Food, cocktails, service. The bartender, in particular, is awesome - very knowledgable and friendly.
