Great service!! Ira our bartender was the best! He has years of experience and will give you or make you a drink. Love this bar!! Fun fact: this is the bar the show CHEERS was based off of.

Delicious healthy food with unique flavors. Busy place so make reservations. Sampler cheesecake platter falsely represented. Same flavor throughout with just a hint of flavor on color topping. Otherwise delicious.

The food is very impressive! Totally recommend the bacon burger for dinner and the pancakes for breakfast. Also, their espresso martini is spot on 🍸

Definitely worth stopping here for the food. While a bit expensive, you get what you pay for, and it's worth it. The quality was good and thoroughly enjoyed our meals. We would stop here again on our next visit to Bermuda.

Similar vibe to a big-city, downtown rustic coffee shop. Fish tacos and burrito bowl are good. Pricy though!

DELICIOUS. The venison, lamb chops, mashed potatoes, spare ribs, plum jam turnover, and carrot and zucchini cake... From top to bottom the food was so delicious and I would eat here repeatedly. Repeatedly. Service was nice as well and there's a very chill vibe. Highly recommend.

Went to the full restaurant tonight, and it couldn't have been better. Everything was fresh and well thought-out. The kind of meal that tastes delicious, that leaves you feeling full but not crummy. Prices are very fair (cheaper than many other places around), and we found that the quality of the food was well worth it. Get the homemade bread basket - outstanding! Service was very good and the atmosphere is great, including covered outdoor seating. Absolutely going back for coffee and some baked goods from the deli portion.

Late and overdue review. After walking around Bermuda, we decide to sit down and eat at the Hog Penny. Atmosphere was ok, dark and cozy. My daughter and son loves the Mac and cheese balls. Everything else we had was just ok.

Came here on our cruise and stopped by for a drink. Great place for a drink - and the bartender was terrific! We didn't eat, but the food looked and smelled delicious. Street is fairly steep, if you have mobility challenges it can be tough, but it's not far up the road (about the shops in).

Great pub food at reasonable prices

  • 4/5 Darshana S. 5 years ago on Google
The food was bar food. We order a few items that were different then bar food and they were not goos. We ordered the cheddar and apple salad and the chicken bhumi tikka. Both were average. We also did drinks which were bermuda coffee it was average and a flight of beer, which was great. We did order beer fries and those were amazing. We also tried escargot and it was great. So recommend sticking to bar food here. Customer service was poor. The gentlemen was the least friendliest waiter we have had un bermuda and not attentive at all. They were busy as it was trivia night on a sunday night around 7pm. The trivia was fun.

Hard to find food on Bermuda for a Vegan. This place had a delicious, made in house, black bean burger. They serve locally brewed craft beer as well. Simple pub, smallish on the inside. Went only once, and at an odd hour so there was no issue with crowds.

  • 4/5 Alexandra Track A. 4 years ago on Google
Absolutely delicious food! This was a great place to stop after a long day-- comfort food and friendly and attentive service. The fish chowder was incredible and my husband said the fish & chips were perfect. Our only small complaint: we found the cocktails to be a little pricey compared to other similar places in town.

Great place to stop in for a drink or a bite to eat. Friendly patrons and staff. Drafts and bottles are available. Plenty of seating but bar seats are usually full. Not difficult to get a drink. Live music at night and lots of TVs for watching matches and sporting events. Half a block from Front street, walking distance from any place in Hamilton and just up the street from the flag pole.

Stopped by for a quick drink during "Harbor Night" while waiting for the last ferry back to the cruise port. Our bartender Steven was fun and accommodating. There was a guitar vocalist on the small stage offering to play backup to your live karaoke endeavors. His song catalog was not very current or extensive but he passed it around. I think it's a fun place. Try it out!

  • 5/5 Mike R. 4 years ago on Google
Found this off the beaten path “speak easy” from Google. What a gem! Down a narrow alley, up some stairs until you find the red door with a door bell. We got there shortly after it opened at 5 and were the first to arrive. We picked a couple custom cocktails off the menu, they are pricey at $15.50 a clip but they are excellent. We met the owners George and Shirley and they are awesome as well. Gave us a few local pointers and bought us an appetizer from their Indian restaurant next door. Well worth checking out, you’ll feel like a VIP!

Try the Charcuterie board! This is our absolute favourite. We always go there for a quick lunch and this cheese and meat platter is the perfect size to share. Make sure to end it off with some good coffee!!

  • 4/5 Chef F. 4 years ago on Google
My friend and I had breakfast here this morning and what can I say hands down it was just a very good service... I had heard good things about the restaurant and I can say that you guys are living up to your name from the greeting at the door to the payment of the bill it was just smoothly delivered, my only concern was that the restaurant is a little small the outdoor seating is a plus and there is little or no parking especially during peak hours.... But I will be returning keep up the good work just know that there is always room for improvement.

  • 4/5 Cristina T. 7 years ago on Google
The best coffee in the island. The menu have great options, healthy food, well balanced and also it is a great place to hang out with friends for nice drinks. In Bermuda is hard to find good food, nice presentation of the food, good ambience and good service all together. But, that place offers all that. It is my favorite place in the island. Must go!

  • 1/5 Victor C. 4 years ago on Google
The menu makes everything sound great, unfortunately food is not good. The salad nourish bowl salad sounds great but was pretty bland with the bacon fat, keto dressing, even after a second helping. Fries were soggy, soft, and un seasoned. The pork belly sandwich had pieces of cartilage which was pretty off putting. High priced, poorly prepared food

  • 5/5 Gary P. 4 years ago on Google

The food at Devil's Isle is always top notch - regardless of whether you visit for breakfast, lunch or dinner, it never disappoints. Today for lunch I had a very yummy Salmon Crepe with a side salad of Kale Caesar Salad. For drink I ordered a really nice juice called the 'Green Apple' which I highly recommend - it was very refreshing! The service was quick and the staff were super friendly.

  • 5/5 Katherine G. 3 years ago on Google
A #1 best seller menu. Great vibe. And always consistent with food flavour and attentive service. Usually food arrives to your table at a good/decent pace. A little on the pricey side but is worth the freshness ans the flavor.

First time there. VERY good breakfast and pretty allergy friendly as well. The service, smoothies and coffee were all fantastic. Pretty small place, but intimate and spaced well for social distance safety. Outside dining was really nice!

  • 2/5 Stefan G. 3 years ago on Google
Menu items sound great on paper but the execution is less than par. Overpriced for something you could make at home... I got the burger last time I was there, was ok but not for the price...fries were soggy, which is a shame because they make them in house, just sat in the window too long I guess. My mum's dish was so salty she sent it back and she likes to eat! Overall the place needs some work on service and food quality.

  • 5/5 Hayati A. 4 years ago on Google
    Great food and shakes!

  • 1/5 Nicholas B. 4 years ago on Google
Service is shockingly bad. I literally couldn’t believe my ears. The staff are rude and extremely slow. I remember when this place first opened, it was amazing - it’s clearly gone downhill since then. The quality of the food is also on the tumble. Did they change their chef recently? Overall would not recommend this place. Don’t even grab a takeout coffee, the cashier in the takeout area aren’t any better.

It was so hard to pick my meal - it all looked so good! We're so happy to have a few more days in Bermuda that will allow us to return to sample more of what they have to offer. The ceviche was amazing, and the noodle bowl was delightful. Best restaurant on the island!

  • 3/5 Terry B. 4 years ago on Google
Good food but a bit pricey. A few times I've ordered something and not all the ingredients are on it so that's disappointing.

  • 4/5 Aubrey d. 4 years ago on Google
Good breakfasts, very good coffee, cool vibe. Portions are on the smaller-than-expected side of the spectrum. Suggested for a coffee on the go or first dates. Seems to be where the cool crew wants to hang out, regardless of whether or not they defeat themselves with wearing Bermuda shorts with sports coats and ties. Sorry guys, you all look like private school toddlers.

Amazing food! The fish and chips dish was huge (split it!) And the best I have ever had. The sticky toffee pudding was to die for. Not a full 5 stars because the restaurant was a bit warm- especially when you are trying to escape the Bermuda heat! Overall would recommend for the food and service

We arrived at the Penny just around 1.30pm. We were promptly escorted to our outdoor table where we could see the Viking Orion in the Hamilton dock. The waiter took our drinks order shortly after seating us. Service was fast and the wait staff were pleasant. We both ordered the Chicken Masala. The portion sizes were large enough that I was able to eat and leave some for a 2nd meal when I got home.

  • 2/5 Mica J. 1 year ago on Google
Generous appetizer portions especially the nachos which come like a tray of nachos. The service was sub-par. The main courses I tried were either under or over cooked and I found the apple pie a bit bland. Mainly only enjoyed my appetizers.

  • 4/5 Eleanor S. 1 year ago on Google
My sister and I visited and shared 3 appetizers. Positives: The food was delicious, and the portions were liberal and we didn't finish the nachos plate. The waitress was friendly and helpful. The time frame from order to be served was reasonable. Negatives: The restaurant is dated. It needs some updating. It is also dusty. It needs a good deep cleaning (the back of the chairs and window sill). On the nacho plate, we paid extra to switch the beef to the vegan option. There was barely any of the vegan beef. We could count the number of pieces of chips that had the vegan beef on it. If we have to pay extra, we should get the same amount as regular beef or more.

We always stop at the Hog Penny when we visit Bermuda. And will when we go again this Spring. The prices are reasonable and the atmosphere cozy but we only went once in the summer. The place is small (and busy) but you settle in and don't really want to get up and go. The menu satisfies both the vegetarian and traditional eaters-- that's us. Reasonable, cozy, tasty--what more do you want?

Great Food. Fantastic staff and Fantastic service. The only negative is that the carpeting is dinghy and worn. Not appealing to eye or tourist when they enter the front door.

  • 5/5 Michelle M. 9 months ago on Google
This is a traditional English pub with a lot of traditional English dishes like bangers and Mash. I had the chicken pot pie. It was very good. My friend had the jambalaya. It was huge! Drinks were really tasty too. We were seated right beside the women's bathroom which was a little awkward. The bathroom was by far the smallest bathroom I have ever experienced.

  • 5/5 Juan E. 5 months ago on Google
Happy pub food, that is all. My cottage pie was tasy, and with all my preferred textures. I’m coming back for the bangers and mash

I nipped in to try the fish chowder which was amazing. Sadly, whilst "Chris" the bar tender was both friendly and attentive to customers. Thought it funny to be rude and obnoxious to staff in front of customers! I ate, and left.
