Visited Tempest after receiving a few positive recommendations. Unfortunately the entire experience was quite negative. After waiting for 30 minutes to sit down, the service was hurried and frantic. When we were finally able to order, our first three choices from the menu were out. We finally decided to leave having had only an appetizer, and by the time we were able to pay, all the other restaurants in St. George were closed, so we had no dinner that night. The entire visit felt unprofessional and was very disappointing.

This is a gourmet style restaurant with a wonderful atmosphere. We went with our 2 year old and they were VERY accommodating towards children. The waitress was so friendly and attentive. Would recommend this as a 'must try' in St. Georges.

My husband and I enjoyed the most remarkable dining at the Tempest. The food was supremely prepared and the upscale restaurant in the 1850s-building situated right on the ocean provided stunning views. The indoor lighting with old carriage lights created a romantic and sophisticated atmosphere. We had a most aromatic delicious mushroom soup and a risotto that any Italian chef would have been proud to serve as appetizers. The entrées, black grouper, once more excellently prepared, and banana-nut crusted fishcake (you would have never guessed the banana!) with shrimp were served with a side of vegetables and sauces that brought out the flavors of the fish and perfectly complemented the dish with their notes of citrus and fresh herbs. We finished our meal with a spectacular brownie served with vanilla ice cream and the slightest sprinkle of hot caramelized dark chocolate and a glass of port. (Mark, the pastry chef, studied his art with maestros oversees and you will taste the difference!) Earlier we had enjoyed martinis and Riesling with our appetizers and entrées and the drink preparation and pairings were flawless.

Tempest is a great place for foodies and is especially known for its fabulous sauces. Being slightly tucked away and unassuming, with a very low key social media presence, Tempest can be easily overlooked but is worth discovering. The owner takes great pride in the food, which is outstanding. If you're looking for a quiet, quality meal, with good wine, this is one to check out.

A HIGHLY RECOMMENDED CULINARY EXPERIENCE. We arrived for an early Saturday lunch and were, for maybe 45 mins, the only customers in this spacious restaurant. Which is a pity - but I guess reflects on how St George's is now off the tourist track. The still-vexed Bermoothes, indeed. I had the Fish Chowder which was a generous serve. I am normally a stickler for authenticity in my cuisine - if it ain't broke, don't fix it. But the enhancements - finely diced red capsicum, small cubes of potato and a garnish of chives - complemented the traditional Bermudian recipe. I would certainly order it again. My main was a Niçoise - but served warm, with fresh trout and a lightly poached egg. (Photo attached). Again, unconventional, but it was a masterpiece: you must try it. Certainly a talented kitchen team. Mark is to be complimented on recruiting these guys. Unfortunately, the Tempest now replaces Mad Hatters as my favourite dining experience on the Island (Sorry Ben, no offence - I guess I have eaten at Mad Hatters so many times I have become blasé about the great meals you concoct). Mid-priced wine list. No wi-fi. ⚠️ Beware, the Google Street View for this location is an interior of Tucker's Museum; more than a block away.

Was here for a wedding and the restaurant and food were perfect. I have heard equally good reviews for regular dinner service. Highly recommend checking this place out.

Really terrible experience. We came in at 8:00. They had a big group come in shortly before us, and let us know they couldn’t seat us until 8:30. No problem, we thought. We can wait! When they were able to seat us at 8:30, they let us know that service would be a little slow. That’s okay! We aren’t in a hurry. They brought us some mediocre rolls and water at 8:45, and then didn’t come by the table for another 30 minutes. When we asked how long it would be until we could order, they said they could start some appetizers for us. We got some shrimp and puréed carrots, which came out pretty quickly and tasted good. I also ordered a cocktail, which never came. We didn’t see wait staff again for another 45 minutes, when the big group had finished eating. They took our order, only to come back and let us know that they were it of what we had ordered. Twice. Ultimately we just paid for the appetizers and left, only to find that most other restaurants had closed. We went to bed with three shrimp and some puréed carrots in our bellies, and nothing else. Would not recommend this spot at all.

Great food. We had the seared scallop special, the duck in blueberry special and the asparagus appetizer. We're light eaters and we shared the duck and the portions were perfect.

My husband and I went here the day before Thanksgiving, so the restaurant was a little sleepy. Despite this, the food was INCREDIBLE. Truly, one of the top five meals of our lives. My husband ordered the carrot soup and then local fish in beurre blanc. The carrot soup was more nuanced than most root vegetable soups, and I could eat only that beurre blanc sauce for the rest of my life and die happy. I had the mussels and jerked local fish, which were also incredible. We also had a great bottle of wine, and I got the impression they generally have a well-curated wine list.

One of Bermuda's culinary gems. Well worth the trip to St George's. Menu is always interesting and the food is fresh and very well prepared. Never had the service issues mentioned by others - always been attentively looked after and very good with the kids. Quirky setting in a quaint old town - we often come for Sunday lunch. If you haven't tried it, do it.

A finer dining establishment in St. George’s. The risotto appetizer special was some of the best risotto I have ever had. The steak was cooked to perfection.

👍👍 An amazing restaurant in the middle of St. George. Their noodles are excellent!
