There is so much to see while at this museum. Not only are there educational exhibits, but there are also the grounds to explore. This visit was the first time I was able to go into the Commissioners House, which was a bucket list item for me. The views from the grounds and the building are breathtaking. I feel we got more than our moneys worth for the admission.

Took advantage of the free admission in February and visited the museum. There was work taking place around the Commissioners House and as always, some exhibits were closed off. I always enjoy the military exhibits and it was good to see my great grand uncles name listed as having served in World War I. Lots of open outdoor space and it is a pipe friendly place.

We came here via the ferry from Hamilton on our first day in Bermuda. Helped to give us a sense of the island and its history. The Commissioners House is a great place to sit and contemplate the past, as well as to enjoy panoramic views. Highly recommended.

Set within the fort in The Keep at the Royal Naval Dockyard and encompassing the beautifully restored 19th-century Commissioner's House, the National Museum of Bermuda has a mighty collection of artifacts and exhibits that delve into Bermuda's maritime history. Built to guard the entire naval base, the fort features seven bastions and ramparts. Visitors can learn about shipwrecks, battles, and more in eight historic exhibit buildings. The Commissioner's house, the oldest cast iron frame residential building in the Western Hemisphere, transports you back in time with authentic period furniture and exhibits on the island's military past. Don't miss the incredible Hall of History mural, created by the Bermudian artist Graham Foster, that takes up all four walls of a room in the house. Grab a bite to eat and enjoy it on the wraparound veranda, taking in the panoramic views of the island and the Atlantic ocean. The best part--the adorable sheep grazing the grounds.

The exhibits are interesting and well curated. There is a little something for everyone. The day we went there was a palmetto weaver who was teaching a class which was very cool. And the views from the point are unbelievable. This place was well worth it! A must go in Dockside

Admission is about $20- $25. Great hills for walking. You can sign up to swim with the dolphins with an instructor for about $275. The views are amazing and it really is a step back into time. The employees here historically knowledgeable and the gift shop is cute interesting. Definently with it, I spent about 3 hours here, and. Could of stayed all day. Very peaceful.

Brilliant museum which is well researched and set out. They are doing a sympathetic restoration on the buildings and have everything well staged together in topics. I would love to be able to buy a book with photographs and copies of the work to bring home and study. My husband enjoyed the display of ww1 and WW2 memorabilia especially. I have never seen such a good explanation the working of a Fort anywhere. I thought the personal information on local families especially detailed.

Great little place to visit if you’re taking a cruise. Very close to the dock with amazing views. It has a playground for kids near the dolphins. The only thing that made me uncomfortable was the number of dolphins in such a small area, however, it did look like they had a larger pen beyond the wall. Price is very reasonable $18 for adults and free for kids.

Beautiful exhibits about the history of this wonderful island. We had a fun time exploring the grounds and seeing the exhibits. I was a little disappointed some were closed for updates, but I hope to be back soon to see them when they reopen. Beautiful views of the island from the grounds and great to just walk and enjoy the scenery.

This was a great half day trip and an excellent way to learn about Bermuda's rich history and culture. The $18 entry fee was absolutely worth it for the experience! The images & stories were captivating. The museum is family friendly & you can explore at your own pace!

What an incredibly special place! All the exhibits here really added to the appreciation of Bermuda history. I especially loved the coin and paper money room. There’s bathrooms available throughout the building and the museum is relatively easy to navigate. This is a must visit for any tourist!

We had a very nice visit and learned quite a bit about Bermuda's colorful history! The mansion was beautiful and we could examine the mural for hours if we had the time! Dolphin quest was an amazing surprise! We didn't really research this as a visit, but decided after walking past the museum on the way to the beach to check admission prices. It was well worth the reasonable charge for the education and views, but to see the dolphin encounter was the highlight of the visit!

  • 5/5 Fritz B. 4 years ago on Google
Lovely museum with many nice exhibits. Commissioner's House was interesting with marvelous views. Don't miss the Shipwreck Museum.

  • 5/5 Kristi R. 4 years ago on Google
I truly enjoyed the museum. We spent close to four hours exploring the exhibits. It was a really interesting collection of military, sailing and other historical artifacts. The buildings/fortifications themselves were interesting too. We also got to see a baby dolphin at the dolphin encounter (you can visit this without doing the actual encounter) and that was a real treat. It is an easy walk from the cruise ship dock - well worth it.

Absolutely make sure to stop here and be sure to have a few hours. The Royal Naval Dockyard is a very great area full of shops, restaurants, tourist activities, and much more. Absolutely, plan on spending a few hours walking around and a few more hours for the museum. Be sure to check out the museum — I believe it’s $7 for adults. Explore the land, inside the commissioners house, watch them train dolphins and so much more

Amazing museum and zoo. If you go to Bermuda, don't miss it. Natural and clean and a great array of lovely animals, well protected and cared for. The museum has great knowledge base of Bermudian wildlife. The seals and Giant Tortoises are amazing! The aquarium is also awe-striking. This is a small but full-fledged zoo with nice quiet walking paths and excellent staff.

In the heritage city of St. George, the fort is historic in nature and well kept for it's age. Views of the sea at @180 degrees and the through which most of the ships enter Bermuda can be seen. There is an entry fee to the fort. It is around a 5-7 min walk from the st. George bus terminal. Have time in hand when seeing the fort if you like history, there are a few things to read.

  • 5/5 Sam V. 5 years ago on Google
Beautiful historic relic and a fantastic viewpoint of the surrounding landscape. Fort St. Catherine is a must see for any history buff or anyone looking to roam through some chilly corridors on a hot day. Don't miss out on this great experience for a fairly reasonable admission fee.

  • 5/5 Brian R. 7 years ago on Google
Wasn't open when we came by on a Sunday in March. But the scenery is gorgeous, beaches on both sides. Must have been a great posting for a soldier back when. We skipped St. Catherine's Beach and instead went to the small beach on the left side. There's a small set of stairs going from the entrance road down to that beach.

  • 5/5 Nychelle S. 4 years ago on Google
Worth a stop over to this historic Bermudian fort. The waters surrounding this structure was amazing.

  • 5/5 Bob R. 4 years ago on Google
Not a big or well known fort but well maintained and solid exhibits. Views are fantastic and small beach just below the walls. A mile walk from town.

  • 4/5 Henry D. 4 years ago on Google
Great little fort. Too bad they're destroying the feel of the place by building resort of some sort right at it's footsteps. Horrible, the little beach right next to it has construction right at it's borders and the beach itself got overtaken with the fences and workers. The view from the fort towards the ocean is still nice but opposite direction is now destroyed! We didn't pay for the entrance to the fort, Bermuda is expensive already, so we just enjoyed outside of it. Great place that lost some of its innocence of the past glory.

  • 5/5 Lindsay H. 6 years ago on Google
Beautiful structure with even more beautiful views of the ocean. Despite arriving within 15 minutes of closing time, the incredibly kind staff allowed us in for a quick guided tour. Definitely worth seeing. Tobacco Bay is nearby, a short walk away and worth checking out. Construction on a new hotel was underway when I visited in March. Hoping it doesn't obstruct the views or take away from the awe of this historical landmark.

As local as local culture gets. This museum really sheds a light on the history and culture of Bermuda. It doesn’t shy away from slavery and the past atrocities committed by the colonisers. Very informative - great for every history lover. Also includes a small dolphin lagoon/shelter. $18 for adults.

Really interesting spot for lots of history on Bermuda. Don't come here if you're looking for "attractions" it's predominantly historical information. Great lookouts from every angle of the property. The dolphin exhibit is neat, the keepers seemed to really love them. If you're on a cruise, it's an easy walk.
