The caves are a must do when in Bermuda, however if you only had time to visit one of the caves, then you should go for the Crystal cave. Tickets for both caves is around 35$, the tour groups are fairly large, which takes away from the experience, a big part of the tour is the guide, we had 2 different guides for each of the caves and the enthusiasm and knowledge level of the tour guides did vary quite a bit. Overall the experience is nice but fairly short. Which on the bright side gives you more time to explore the island. The caves are accessible by bus, if your coming on a cruise, then take the courtesy ferry to st George and then take the bus to the cave, it is the most cost efficient option. Once your done with the caves I also recommend checking out the ice cream store by the entrance for a small snack, they have a fairly large selection of ice cream to choose from.

The Bermuda Crystal and Fantasy Caves is an absolute must-visit, earning a resounding 5 out of 5. The natural beauty and awe-inspiring formations within the caves create a magical experience that's unlike anything else. The crystal-clear pools and stunning stalactites and stalagmites are a testament to the wonders of nature. The guided tours provide insightful information about the geological history and formation of the caves, enhancing the overall appreciation of the site. The knowledgeable guides are enthusiastic and passionate about sharing their expertise, making the tour both educational and engaging. The atmosphere within the caves is mystical and serene, transporting visitors to another world. The shimmering crystal formations and the play of light and shadow create a truly enchanting ambiance. Accessibility to the caves is convenient, and the staff's organization and efficiency contribute to a seamless experience. The combination of natural beauty, informative tours, and a sense of wonderment makes the Bermuda Crystal and Fantasy Caves an absolute gem. For its uniqueness, beauty, and educational value, it confidently earns a well-deserved 5 out of 5 rating. It's a place that leaves an indelible impression, providing an experience that's both breathtaking and educational.

The name is a bit misleading. It is Cristal Cave for its crystal clear waters, not for the rock formations. The stalactites and stalagmites are pretty, but are normal deposits, no gem stone quality to them. If you haven't visited many caves, it is interesting, but it is not very large or very special. If I had been told that before I could have lowered my expectations and probably would have enjoyed more the experience. You may go there and like it a lot. I did not go to the sister site, the Fantasy Cave, but I do not think it would have changed my opinion. Pratical matters: the Cave site can be reached by bus. We took the #11 from Hamilton. To get to Hamilton we took the Ferry from the Royal Naval Dockyard. For $19 you can get a day pass with unlimited rides (ferry and bus). We were able to go from end to end of the Bermudas with it in one day. Although they say reservations are not required, we had to wait for more than one hour for our visit, so it is better to plan ahead. There are 82 steps and a ramp. Wear comfortable shoes.

Very nice experience. Staff well organized. Caves were beautiful and would highly recommend. Really each cave just 1 room, but great colors and formations. Our guide was a bit corny, better suited to do kids tours I thought, but still highly recommend.

As far as tourist attractions go, Crystal and Fantasy Caves in Bermuda are at the top for good reason. Here, you can access the island's stunning caves, where you can walk on floating pontoons overlooking crystal-clear, azure waters of the subterranean pools, all lit up with a state-of-the art lighting system to bring out their natural beauty. Admire incredible rock formations of the soaring stalagmites rising from deep within the lake and limestone icicles dripping from the ceiling like frozen waterfalls as you make your way through the caves. Informative guides share details about the history and geology of the caves, which are thought to be formed during the Pleistocene Ice Age 1.6 million years ago.

The Crystal Cave is a must see in Bermuda. The cave with its crystal clear water fed by the Atlantic Ocean, and multitude of stalactites and stalagmites, is awe inspiring. You can get there by taking the bus route 3 from Hamilton (about $6 per person), or by taxi (about $35). Once there, the access is fairly easy. I recommend visiting the cave in the morning, around 9 AM, before the crowds arrive. If you choose to visit later in the day, you may experience long lines and wait because all visits to the cave require a tour guide, and each guide takes only so many people at a time (about 40-45 people), and each visit takes 30 to 45 minutes if you visit only the Crystal Cave. If you visit the Fantasy Cave as well, the tour takes about 1 1/2 hour. Regardless, I recommend the visit. The Crystal Cave is beautiful.

Crystal cave was amazing!! The tour guide was fabulous. I expected more of the fantasy cave but it was still an incredible experience. The gift shop is beautiful and very reasonable.

This place is rich with history. It is a true staple of the island. A must see place to visit if you ever go to Bermuda. I have been here 3 times already and its still amazing to see. You can do both tours for $70. There are lockers that you can place your bags in if you don't want to carry heavy items with you. There will be alot of walking so bring some comfortable shoes 👟 and the gift shop sells some nice items as well.

An awesome sight to see... visitors are surrounded by natural beauty, with a great tour guide to share information on its rich histoty. The onsite gift shop has some fun treasures to purchase after your visit in the caves.

We had a great time and learned a bunch about the history of the crystal and fantasy cave. The gift shop had a ton of cool souvenirs and the bathrooms were very clean. I would recommend wearing sneakers because all of the steps and ramps are wet from the condensation in the caves. The walk back up to exit is a work out!!

We were only able to visit one cave but it was a wonderful magical experience. We took a ton of photos and really enjoyed listening to the interpretive guide tell us all about the discovery. He was a fantastic storyteller and definitely an asset to this organization. I’ve added a collection of photos to the masses already on here.

Nice 45’ tour to see some amazing stalagmites and stalactites (some as old as the ice age - 18 thousand years old) inside natural cave with water 30’-80’ deep with great lighting and walkways. Tour guide tells excellent story of the caves and their discovery.

One of these beautiful places nature creates that few know of. Ron is the best guide and storyteller you can hope for. He made the experience super fun while enlightening everyone on the story and physics behind the caves.

My wife and I took an excursion from our cruise port of call to Bermuda. Lots of options competing for your time, but the Crystal Caves were said to be a must by many reviews... The trip did not disappoint. I recommend making it one of your visits as well! There are a lot of stairs and a few tight spaces, but you have a ton of time and no pressures to hurry. Our guide shared quite a bit of history making the walk very interesting. Everyone loved the part when they turn off all the ight to experience complete cave darkness. This all helped make the steep walk a great experience.

Crystal Cave was an amazing (albeit very small) cave. The color of the water was simply unreal and the depth to which you can see is breathtaking. You can see all of the lost personal possessions (watches, pens, sunglasses, phones...) at the bottom of the 50-100? feet deep pool. The tour was so worth it! Absolutely magical!!

This is an amazing place was spectacular Limestone caves and Blue Lakes connected to the ocean by a half mile long tunnel. Not to be missed. There are two caves Fantasy Cave and Crystal Cave both spectacular. You can take the number 1 or number 3 bus. There's a bus stop right outside the caves.

It is worth the money to visit both caves instead of one - each cave has its own uniqueness and beauty. Whatever you do, hang on to your phone, sunglasses or hat - don’t drop it like visitors before you. The guides are very friendly and knowledgeable. A great place for family.

Such a beautiful place both caves are very different crystal cave is cold and beautiful fantasy cave is hot and humid both are beautiful with different formations. Must see both. Get ready for stairs and a small work out! Well worth it!

Cool experience going down to see the stalagmites, stalactites and crystal clear Atlantic Ocean water down in the cave. Our guide, Matt, was great and answered everything we threw at him. Definitely check it out if visiting the island.

If you have visited larger caves it might not be as impressive, but the guides are amazing and tell a great story, the location is gorgeous, and the rock formations are truly impressive. And it's a fantastic excuse to hit up Bailey's ice cream or the Swizzle Inn for some amazing food.

We made reservations ahead of time and would definitely recommend doing so. It lessens the wait times. Overall a great experience. The tour guides were very informative. I preferred crystal caves over the fantasy caves but it is definitely a must do while in Bermuda!

  • 4/5 James N. 1 year ago on Google
Visiting the caves on our own during a cruise stop we reached the cave later than we hoped and while we were able to get tickets for the fantasy cave for 15 minutes after our arrival we were unable to get tickets to the Crystal Cave portion because the next available time slot was more than 4 hours later. I wish we had known we could have gotten Advanced tickets it definitely would be suggested for future visitors! Fantasy cave wasn't necessarily massive but it's very pretty, especially if you've never done it before.

I came here on an excursion for a cruise. I really enjoyed my time here, but I recommend coming here without the excursion, since we get rushed around. This one wasn't rushed as much but the location we went to after sure was. They had a cat that hung out near the ticket booth and it was friendly and just enjoying the sun!

It was a quick tour of the crystal cave and a walk back the same path. However, the guide was amazing (can't remember his name) but we went on dec28 1pm tour. He was great at storytelling and bringing back history into the present. It wasn't the greatest tourist attraction wish there was more included in the tour (example a complimentary ice cream treat, or complimentary photo in the caves background, etc.)

Must see if in Bermuda. We made reservations in advance with a group of 8 total. Our tour group was about 25-30? The only thing I didn’t like is you must be accompanied in there with a group. You can’t book a private tour. We usually don’t participate in anything with big groups, crowds and people in the way. We will book a private tour. But I don’t think they allowed this option. Other than that it was beautiful. The history of the caves was interested and people didn’t get in the way much. If they were, they let us go around them. Took about an hour and then 20 minutes in the gift shop. I hope anyone planning on going isn’t afraid of the dark. They shut all the lights off during your tour to show you how pitch black it really is down there. It was really cool to “not” see 😉 Tips : book in advance! Wear the best non slip shoes you have! Being on the back of the tour group line gives you lots of time to stop and see everything and then you are quickly the first ones out of there. Visit the gift shop beforehand when it’s not so crowded and the group ahead is still inside!

Was a cool experience and tour guide was informative. Many steps so wear proper footwear. Not appropriate for younger children given the amount of steps. We did both Crystal and Fantasy caves but would suggest to only do crystal. Fantasy was not impressive after you’ve seen crystal cave.

We did not have reservations and it was busy. They managed to get us in on the next tour and we really enjoyed it. The guides were friendly and informative. The caves are amazing, well lit and it's an easy tour.

  • 5/5 Melissa N. 10 months ago on Google
It was so packed and long line waiting when I went to the caves BUT it's worth it! So many different shapes of Stalactites, some of them reach the floor and clear blue water reflecting is the most beautiful experience on my vacation.

  • 5/5 Sheldon L. 1 year ago on Google
The most beautiful caves I've ever visited. The stalactites and stalagmites formations are breathtaking. Our guides for both of the caves were knowledgeable about the geology of cave formation and the history of both of the caves. Tides can affect accessibility of the cave so try time your visit for low tide. I visited in the off season but it was still a lot of people so I would imagine you need a reservation in peak season

  • 4/5 Neil D. 1 year ago on Google
Great place for a visit. There are 82 steps up and down, but it is worth a visit. Tour takes about 30-40 min and entrance is $24 each. I thought that was a little pricey - but then it’s not bad when beer is $12 per pint!!

  • 4/5 Shay 1 year ago on Google
Fun, novel and worth a stop. We did both caves and would suggest only doing the fantasy cave if I were to choose one. Both was not bad, but fantasy was better. The climb down to Crystal is easier. I would recommend good shoes and only going if you’re comfortable climbing several flights of stairs.

  • 5/5 Kevin N. 1 year ago on Google
Great adventure that you must climb down and explore. Once the light is turned off, 100% complete darkness. Must appreciate mother's nature. Every angle can be picture perfect.

Stunning cave! I came here to find the lost cricket ball! I’ve always enjoyed looking at crystals. However, this is a bonus when I view them up close and personal. Here’s some info. The tour guide can only guide 25-30 visitors at a time. After buying a ticket at a counter ($24/adult), we received a bracelet. Then, the group waits under a tent. Once ready, the group enters the gate. First, the ramp, then we hit the stairs. Good grip sneakers work well. Be smart and safe. Watch your steps while taking photos. I couldn’t believe the beauty of the cave. We weren’t allowed to touch any rocks except for one, the “emotional support rock” located on the way down to the cave. So I stopped to touch it. Smooth and silky rock, nice! After 15 steps down, visitors stopped at a stopover platform for a 360-degree view of the cave. Then, everyone must use the bridge walk to cross to the other side. This is the best part. I saw even more magnificent images of the stalactites and stalagmites while walking on the little bridge. Those are the terms used to describe crystals hanging from the ceiling and growing from the floors. Try not to jump and hump on the bridge. Just walk! The view with hanging crystals with the water below it was the most gorgeous view I’ve ever seen. I thought I saw a cricket ball, but I could be wrong, lol. Another demo in the cave was turning off the lights to describe the experience of the two boys who lost the cricket ball. It was surreal to be in the dark not knowing the cave's beauty until you reached for the flashlight. Everything was amazing! It is highly recommended to take this half-hour journey and, for God's sake, find the ball already! Excellent service by the tour guide and team and cinematic experience! Next time, Fantasy Cave!

The caves and the tour guides are amazing. However, the meeting of several groups in that small space really took some of the shine away. Having too many groups, too close together, forces everyone to wait more than needed. It's worth exploring though.

Aside from beaches, don't miss these caves when visiting Bermuda. Both crystal and fantasy has a lot of stalactites and clear water with a great walking distance to explore. It's also cool inside with light available, so you can take amazing images without any issues.

Amazing place to visit. Simply breathtaking. Mother nature at her purest. My tour guide was awesome. This man will let anyone love geology. It's the purest water you will ever see and even below the surface, the air is fresh. You have to see it to believe it.

The caves during a hurricane will flood with high tide. You cannot tour them at this time since the bridges float on the water. I could not go in the cave when I went. They asked me to come back tomorrow.

Fantasy Caves & Crystal Caves are a really great way to learn about caves and also a lot of general history is given not only of the caves on the island but a little bit about of Bermuda in general. Must walk up and down stairs in dark lighting Tour guide was super helpful and friendly the entire time Last time I was there the prices were: Cost: $22 each or $30 for both

Wonderful experience...going 180 metres down to encounter great geological site...water is mesmerizing, and to see stalactites and stalagmites milions of years old...sounds amazing, right? Went on a Thursday morning during the off season in December. Not particularly crowded. All the staff were energetic and polite. The tour guide was funny and gave an energetic tour of the crystal cave. As with most things in Bermuda, its pricey

  • 5/5 Daniel C. 5 years ago on Google
This is a great place to visit on the island. There are interesting stories about the discoveries and exploitation of the caves. Doing both is definitely worth the price. The waiting area outside is lovely. The guides were knowledgeable and funny, with no pressure for tipping. Fantasy Cave is a more treacherous initial descent: it could be hard for someone with claustrophobia. But it has been better maintained, since it was closed for many decades.
