As
cruise
veterans,
we've
learned
to
get
out
of
the
dock
area
as
fast
as
you
can.
Typically
manufactured
tourist
traps
with
$
vacuums.
THIS
IS
DIFFERENT.
For
one,
it's
an
historic
area
-
once
home
to
the
British
Navy's
HQ.
The
buildings
and
grounds
have
retained
their
original
look
and
construction
for
the
most
part.
All
the
shopping
and
restaurants,
except
a
couple,
are
housed
in
the
base's
original
structures.
At
one
end,
there's
a
"mall"
with
a
good
number
of
shops
from
jewelry
to
souvenirs
to
food
stands.
At
the
other,
very
convenient
access
to
Hamilton
and
St.
George's
ferries
and
other
transportation.
Along
the
walkway
that
goes
from
one
end
to
the
other,
there
are
nice
shops
-
particularly
Faulkner
Gallery.
And
there
are
places
for
ice
cream
and
other
refreshments.
This
isn't
a
place
to
make
a
day
of.
But
if
you're
on
a
cruise,
do
explore
a
bit.
And
if
you're
staying
on
the
island
it's
an
easy
enough
trip
-
nice
to
see
and
maybe
grab
lunch
-
several
dining
options
