We have had worst experience ever staying at reefs. - Roaches everywhere. (in the room, hallway, and even in the restaurant) - Furnitures were very old and some even broken. - Rooms smelled bad. (mildew smell) - Pool water was not heated even tough they claimed it is. - They served low quality food. - Bathroom door handle was broken. I will not recommend this place unless this is a very last resort. I don’t even know how they got 4.5 rating. The staff were respectful, and room’s view was good to be fair.

We went to the Reefs Resort for their Thursday night Beach BBQ buffet, bonfire and music. Beautiful setting for an enormous buffet of beef brisket, chicken, ham, chili/peach salad, potato salad, corn and many other sides. Multiple desserts to choose from including mango parfait. Drinks were good, but not included in the base cost of $59 pp. Can’t beat $10 for a dark n stormy! Our server Richard was attentive and friendly. They tried the bonfire, but the wind was too much for it. Lovely unique experience.

The Reefs left a wonderful impression on me during our short 3 day family getaway. The snorkeling at the resort is top notch, with beautiful coral and wildlife plentiful and easy to find. The photo is of the weekly beachfront cookout, with a bonfire and live entertainment. The spa offers a great set of services, and my deep tissue massage was very high quality and the treatment rooms were 1st class. Although my mother’s manicure was great, it didn’t last very long. I think that has more to do with the high humidity than the service. The staff is extremely kind, offering personal touches when they can, and even at capacity, the resort doesn’t feel crowded. The bed was comfortable, and the view from the balcony would be hard to beat. The tile floor isn’t my taste, but the staff keeps the rooms spotless, with turndown service and complimentary in room Mixers for a Dark and Stormy on your arrival. The food is fine; I’ve enjoyed more extravagant meals, but I was never disappointed. The dish I enjoyed best at Aqua Terra was the Ravioli appetizer. The owner and GM are very present and hands on, and greet the guests personally and offer extras to return guests like my parents. It was wonderful to see them being taken care of. The resort is clearly privately owned, but well maintained and just a short walk from Gibbs lighthouse. It lacks corporate ‘polish’ but offers a charm and excellence that isn’t always present in resorts that update their rooms and their staff every few years. I look forward to returning someday.

My flight was a little bit bumpy on the way in, so off to a bad start. But, nice jalapeno poppers. Verrrrrrrry nice. A little bit surprised to find my parents staying at the same hotel. Same room in fact. The koi pond was a little uneven. A lotta pleases, but not a lot of thank yous. They could stand to go back for a couple more thank you classes. Let's see, let's see...I'd give it five or six out of seven total starfish.

We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights. The hotel’s staff s were nice, the cleaning crew were on time and good. However, there were some damaged/disfunction amenities. Our room wifi was not working unless you were standing close to the balcony. We were told that the jacuzzi and pool are heated water but the pool water was cold. The water was taking long time to get warm for the shower. In the dining area, some chairs were broken and the worst part there were roaches in the dining area and different area of the hotel. With the amount the hotel charges per night, you could find a better place.

BEST VACATION EVER! Let me start off by just saying I normally don't leave reviews for anything...but after the treatment I received at The Reefs this past week, I felt it absolutely necessary. Everything about this hotel is top notch. Sure the views are absolutely stunning, but it is the staff at this hotel that makes The Reefs the place to be. From the moment we got there, Princeton (bell hop) greated us, carried our luggage to our room, and showed us around the property. Pedro was always a friendly face to greet us as well on our morning stroll into the hotel dinning room where we ate an amazing free breakfast every morning. Samantha and Danielle at the front desk were always there to assist us with any need we had (room accommodations, taxi, car rental etc.) We ate out fairly often, but on days/nights we did not, the wait staff was always there to go above and beyond in serving up some amazing cuisine. Roydell and Jomer are some of the best employees one could wish to have on their wait staff. Andrew was the bartender, and while neither my girlfriend or I drink, he still was quick to help us with aquiring some tea to brew back in our room. Rebecca who works in Housekeeping is one of the most considerate people I've ever met. Every morning she would ask us what time we would like her to service our room. A couple of times we came back to the room while she was cleaning, and she would be very apologetic and ask what time we would like her to return. Just a very kind soul. While we were down soaking up some rays on the Reefs private beach, Jaire was there to run up and grab food or frozen drinks to bring down to the beach. Talk about service! Guys I can't say it enough, The Reefs is hands down the best hotel experience I've ever had. All the reviews are true I assure you. Idk who owns, manages or runs the Reefs, but these people absolutely know what they are doing. Next time I come to Bermuda, I WILL absolutely stay at The Reefs!!

My wife and I had dinner at Aqua Terra on Thursday July 6th. We were not staying at the hotel. We had a nice outside table. When we were seated there were virtually one to three tables already occupied. There was one larger table seated but not much else. Others were seated after us. It took a long time to even get our water and drinks. We finally got our order in after waiting about 20 minutes. Other tables, maybe 5-6 were in the process of seating. We actually waited 45 minutes for our appetizers. Other tables that were seated after us got their food before us. When we got our apps, they were hot apps, but ours were frigid cold and dry. Our entrees took a long time to come out as well and they both were both fish entrees. Just bad cooking techniques and horrible time coming out. At the end of the meal, the waiter asked us how everything was. We told him it wasn't very good. He had nothing to say. He only tried to upsell us more wine and dessert. We were led to expect a great experience and it was far from that - especially when paying over over $200. We were beyond disappointed and let our friends who live on the island know. We will never come back to the Reefs for any type of event, dinner etc. Very sad .............

Pros : Beautiful beach Beautiful view if you get the cliff room Cons : wear off old hotel Rooms were smelled mold No hot water ( need to wait 20 min for hot water ) Breakfast was mediocre I would rate like 4/10 I would not recommend to eat in the hotel at all. Many cockroaches in the room and in the breakfast area . What really made me disappointed was that The pool was not heated. I called 3 times to make sure the pool will be heated and they told us yes it is heated and working properly but once we got there they told us since weather is chill the water gets cold ! The weather was 23C and yes only in chill temperature people use heated pool not in warm weather. So just be honest and don't include in your hotel amenities heated pool!

Came here 10 years ago. Different place now - no service - the first time we booked this trip this year was for a time during a hurricane and they tried to force me to come with no refund saying they had an excellent concrete bunker I could hunker down in. I ended on insisting on a different time when flights were all cancelled - car service from airport I had to call 3 times and he still was booked for wrong pickup time -1990s internet service. I would have posted earlier but I couldn’t get a working connection at the hotel - fire alarm going off and nobody attends to it - roofs leaks water on me - the “new” gym has no working ac and is a steam bath - huge cockroach in the room. Wish I could share the pic No water in the room. No shop to buy it This place is such a joke. I’ll never be back

Had a Christmas party here and the service was very slow (only one bartender for a party of 50+ and the regular restaurant) and the food was lukewarm. I didn't stay in a room but the overall ambiance wasn't so modern, but it was qaiunt and homey.

4.5 Stars! Had an incredible time with my wife at The Reefs for our 4 night stay. Some of best service we have had at a resort from start to finish. I can not say enough good things about the service. Thursday night BBQ on the beach was well above expectation. Enjoyed dining in the sand, live music, and bonfire with about 300 guests and locals at the BBQ. Food was great and reasonably priced compared to other places we have stayed in Bermuda. Most people come for the beach, and for good reason. One of the best resort beaches on the island. Rooms could be a bit more updated and beach service could be slightly improved. But we will definitely be looking to come back to The Reefs in the future.

The only resort that fully captures the essence of the island. Built into Cliffside this 1940s Era resort has kept up with the times, and set itself above any other experience on the island. Two restaurants on site with incredible views overlooking the ocean, and beaches. Very kind staff, and a plethora of amenities. The most useful being Scooter and car rentals, and immediate taxi rides are also available within minutes.

As our stay continued the service lacked. Every morning at breakfast we would hear the servers talking about guests inappropriately, which made us very uncomfortable. one of the dinners we had at the hotel the server was very hasty with us (we were first to be seated upon opening). our appetizer came out frozen and he didnt even apologize or try to make it right with us. he just removed the appetizer and walked away. Upon arrival, we cancelled a reservation we had on Thursday, as we were asked to join a beach bbq Thursday night at the hotel. the front desk manager offered to move our reservation from Thursday to Friday. she called the restaurant (in front of us) and left a VM stating our reservation was moved. we did not receive any confirmation and so we emailed the restaurant to confirm. the restaurant denied a change reservation and did not have any spots available. I told the front desk lady and she didnt even bat an eye or apologize. she offered a few suggestions but did not seem concerned she dropped the ball and we were out of a dinner option (3 hours before dinner). Service was 2/10, food was 1/10. you pay for the view and thats about it. we had lunch on the beach and the service was taking forever so I went to check on the food and it was just sitting in the hot sun on a tray with the server propped against the wall sitting on his phone. pool was never heated either during our stay.

What a wonderfully located hotel with amazing facilities and fantastic restaurant on site. Staff was just wonderful and the swimming pool... my goodness! Heated outdoor pool with the view toward the beach. I thought I was in heaven when I had my first swim. Loved it🥰

Have not stayed here as a hotel guest as I live in Bermuda but I come for lunch or dinner. There is sometimes live music, couches with fireplace for evening, great for whale watching in the right season, nice views otherwise, inside is comfortable. Food is tasty and service is nice. Highly recommend.

It is truly a beautiful boutique resort. The staff are so kind and helpful. There are so many fun things to do around the resort, and the restaurants at the resort are delicious. Totally recommend staying here.

A very charming hotel/resort in Southampton. The people that work here are so very friendly and seem to genuinely like helping people - everyone from the front desk to the servers and bartenders and cleaning staff and beach staff. The rooms are very comfortable with a nice balcony and updated bathroom. Our room had an oversized shower and soaking tub. There’s also a mini fridge, safe, robes, tv, etc… The breakfast buffet is abundant and well done. The a la carte breakfast menu is nice to supplement a few things you can’t get at the buffet like Eggs Benedict. Afternoon tea is available for a treat every day. There’s plenty of dining options and bars at the resort that you could eat/drink there every day and never leave. Highly recommended for a getaway to Bermuda.

Stayed here for a long weekend. As some reviewers have mentioned, this place is pretty far away from everything else, and amenities aren’t great so make sure to bring what you need. Hotel had terrible wifi and rooms were buggy and felt kinda dirty. No outlet near the bed, which is a small but noticeable inconvenience. Doors slam loud and I could also hear loud noises above me. I think I was there during an off time, which was nice because the private beach and pools weren’t crowded. Food quality and variety was just okay, service was also just okay. Sometimes it took a while to get the attention of waitstaff during meals. Amazing views, the private beach was lovely and the whole area *looks* nice but I think the resort is due for some much needed TLC and is ultimately too pricey for what you’re actually getting. I’m giving it 3 stars because 2 seems too harsh. If I had stayed for longer than a weekend, I think The Reefs would have been a disappointment.

It is truly our favorite place in Bermuda! We celebrated 40 years of Marriage Sept10 and would not be anywhere else but The Reefs. Gourmet meals, Incredible Beach, rooms with a great view, infinity pool overlooking the beautiful Atlantic, full complementary breakfast and excellent staff make this a 5 Star Resort. Everything is right there. Beautiful beach with chairs umbrellas steps away and a beautiful Spa Serena where my husband and I had fabulous massages and body treatments. Awesome Yoga classes over the ocean at the point! Everyone is so happy and treated us so special during our 7 day stay. Thank you for the most beautiful room at the point! We had such a memorable 40 th Anniversay! Special thanks to Joni & Wilfredo who never missed a beat as our wait staff. Our incredible omelette man and the distinguished Bermudian host who was always so gracious and gave us the best advice about the hurricane coming and also Sherime and Marcus for helping us to catch the only flight out #Bermuda Air! Can’t wait to be back next year! Cheers Jeanne and Patrick

Stayed here for almost a week last month for my honeymoon and had an awesome time. The view of the ocean, the friendly staff, the delicious meals all have us wanting to go back. It was so convenient not having to look for an ATM but receiving cash at the lobby after asking before heading out to explore and they just add it to the room.

We went there for the dinner on the beach. It was fantastic! Very romantic. Dinner was very good and the buffet selection did not disappoint. Eating on the beach, as the sun sets with small waves crashing onto the shore.... Perfection!

Perfect location, quiet, great view of the sunset right from our balcony over the cliffs, and the sound of the waves to go to sleep! Great snorkling spots right in front the beach of the hotel!

My husband and I stayed for our honeymoon at the reefs, 7 days. The resort was quiet during our stay, but the resort is beautiful, and it is situated perfectly on a cliff that overlooks a stunning beach. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Food in the restaurant was tasty, drinks were also good. We wish the pool was heated, but opted for the hot tub instead. The rooms are older but not dated, consistent with the rest of the island.

A slice of heaven on earth. My husband and I loved this resort. It’s gorgeous and has the nicest and hardest working service staff around. The beach here is phenomenal. The on-site restaurant coconuts is great. Would def come back.

Didn't stay here. If we ever vist Bermuda for an extended period of time, this is where we will stay. Took a taxi from the cruise ship at the Dockyard to have a cocktail and take in the georgous sunset. Owners are very personable and genuinely care that you are there.

Our 6th time in Bermuda and our first time at the Reefs. The view is amazing. Beach was accessible and always had umbrellas and chairs available. Pool and hot tubs were great as well. Loved the hydration placement near the pools. The people and service excellent. Afternoon tea a great pick me up. The swizzle gathering was good ( a little lite music in the background would be awesome). The only reason it’s not rated “5” is because of the food. Breakfast variety is very good; not so much dinner. Ceviche, soup, snapper, salads etc. very bland. Asked for salt and pepper and that didn’t help. However, the french fries were excellent. We ended up eating dinner out of the resort most of the time which was much better.

The service here was amazing! The staff is so friendly and helpful. The drinks and food are great, the resort is a perfect location with an amazing view of the beach and water. Chairs and umbrellas are set up on the beach for daily use. Snorkel and kayak gear is available to use on the beach. Church Bay beach is a close walk and a gorgeous beach to visit while there. We had an awesome time and will definitely be back again!
