A great resort, with just a few caveats. The positives: you're in a beautiful location with a private beach and a staff that treats their guests very well. The food was very good, but very expensive (as is everything on the islands). If you drink at all, or are planning to eat most of your meals at the resort, consider their all inclusive plan. The atmosphere is very chill here. No one's pressuring you to buy or do anything. The caveats: we stayed in a double full bed room and it was only average. It had a great view but the room felt a little cramped. I expected a little more space for the price. You should also be sure that everyone in your party is ok with stairs. I saw no elevators on the premises, and to get back and forth from the pool & beach area there is quite climb up stairs & a hill. In the heat, this could be challenging for someone not in good shape.

Grotto Bay was absolutely wonderful. The staff was so accommodating and helpful no matter the situation. The resort was clean and comfortable and our SCUBA diving experience was amazing. The beach was also pristine and had many activities. I would definitely recommend the all-inclusive option as it becomes less expensive for 4 or more people.

It’s a nice place, food is really good for an all inclusive resort. Although all inclusive is option it’s really not an option. You have the option to pay NYC/London prices for drinks and meals. They also put automatic tips on top of the high prices. So it’s best to just pay for it up front and it covers tips too. They have dress up nights along with option to eat casual. The resort itself is pretty self contained not huge but not small. The dive shop is fairly easy to get to and is priced right. Although they don’t have a fast dive boat option so it takes 45 minute to get the first dive reef or wreck. In the end I think Bermuda is over priced an other islands offer much better value.

I am not one to leave reviews often, but I was blown away by the experience at Grotto Bay. I have a gluten allergy and the staff was exceptional with accommodating me. Everything was clearly marked on the menu and the staff would bring GF bread, pancakes, buns, etc, often time without me even asking! Never in my life have I felt so accommodated. Not to mention how everyone was so friendly, and the resort was clean and beautiful. I am eager to recommend this place to others when I get home!

The resort was close to the airport (10 mins in a taxi) which suited our needs but the downside was you could see it from the beach. Our room had been refurbished and had ocean views. Beds were ridiculously comfortable but were queens rather than king size so we slept in separate beds. The resort was very clean. Facilities included guest laundry and changing facilities. I was very impressed with the staff - without fault all of the staff were charming, efficient and very friendly. We did a mixture of plans - breakfast only for 3 days so we explored the island and 3 days on all inclusive which gave us some time to relax on the (lovely) beach and take advantage of all the water sports included (kayak, snorkelling, paddle boarding etc) free bus/ferry passes. The beach is great for small children with a ship wreck to snorkel over and plenty of fish to look at close to shore. The swimming cave was great - my kids loved it! We went everyday. The food was of good quality in all the restaurants but we were a bit disappointed with the BBQ offering. There was a good choice of dishes in all the restaurants including vegan/vegetarian. Overall, I would definitely recommend but there were two things that bothered me. One, the amount of single use plastic was ridiculous in the beach bars etc. I would love to see them ditch the plastic and offer washable plastic glasses etc and water stations where guest can refill their own water bottles rather than giving out plastic water bottles all the time and offer paper straws not plastic. Secondly, I don’t know this for sure but there was a lot of diversity in the staff but their “names’ didn’t reflect their heritage and I suspect they were being given names that ‘worked’ for the predominantly US guests. I hope I am wrong but there aren’t many people from the Indian sub continent called Danny……

Great experience at my stay at Grotto Bay, from December 20-24. The room was very clean.; the staff were very helpful and courteous; and the grounds were very well kept. I loved the cave! Every meal was fantastic! There was also a cool, very friendly, free-roaming cat that I enjoyed feeding everyday.

Fantastic stay for our Babymoon holiday! Unfortunately we were disappointed that they did not offer prenatal massage in the cave spa but the location, service and convenience of all inclusive meal plan that also provided bus passes def made up for it. Very family friendly resort with activities on site, even their own cave for guests to take a cool plunge in. Minutes away from airport but we were not bothered by any flight sounds.

We spent 4 nights at Grotto Bay. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, everyone was wonderful! We had an ocean front room. The view was stunning. We did the 80 minute couples massage in the cave spa. It was truly an experience. The beach is great. You can wade out and see fish swimming. We also took a dip in the Crystal Cave that is on site. Loved the entertainment that was provided in the Rum Bar each night! The highlight of our trip was having guest services set up a private tour of the island for us. Our guide, Anthony was amazing! He taught us the history of the island, and showed us places that looked like they were straight from a calendar photo. We made the right choice when we chose Grotto Bay Beach Resort for our stay in Bermuda!

I am providing a review for the spa and overall grounds. I did not stay over night here. I booked spa treatments and a day pass. The breakfast, lunch and beach access were perfect. The spa is such an unique experience. I booked a couples experience including full body massages and a scalp massage. The scalp massage was so insanely amazing. I forget the man’s name who led my scalp massage but hands of a god! We also added a day pass to access the rest of the resort. Highly recommend. The only reason I am giving 4 stars is I worked really hard to get some extra amenities coordinated in advance for a birthday surprise. I was given menus of food, drinks, decor to select from. After selecting I was told the day before certain requests can’t be met (balloons, rose pedals, beers). It was frustrating because this was a gift. During the service the one item they could provide: chocolate covered strawberries. Which was nice but not the list I gave or enough to celebrate how I was originally lead to believe. I do not think this is a reflection on the spa as it seems the “amenities” are handled outside the spa. Just a heads up for anyone attempting to also gift this experience.

Staff was very friendly! The rooms had a beautiful view, lots of power outlets, nice bathrooms with hot water. The grotto was a beautiful place for a swim. I enjoyed the Swizzle Rum punch!!

I stayed here during the Juneteenth weekend and had a pretty rough experince. Even after telling the front staff that I have a 2 year old and my wife is pregnant, I was still given a room up the hill, then my kid was served an expired yogurt with fungus. GM of the hotel tried calming the situation by moving us near the pool and giving a $100 credit but it still does not justifies the behavior of the front staff and negligence of the hotel staff by serving expired food. Negatives- 1. Non kids friendly resort. 2. No diaper changing stalls in the restrooms near the swimming pool/beach. 3. Most of the rooms are up the hill, and the way to pool and beach has multiple steps. If you have small kids, it will be difficult to go to the beach or the pool. 4. The front desk is very rude. 5. Rooms are outdated. 6. Restaurant staff confused about what is included and not included in all-inclusive. Positives - 1. Beautiful view of the ocean from the rooms 2. A few minutes from the airport 3. Good selection of food but tastes ok. 4. Ocean recreation gear included in all-inclusive 5. Restaurant staff is great.

We had a fantastic stay at Grotto Bay (12/21/23-12/26/23). I travel a lot and have NEVER met more amazing staff than here. They went above and beyond to ensure my sister with Down Syndrome and the family had an amazing stay. The room was a bit dated but perfectly OK. The food was great. The resort is clean. The cave and cave spa are amazing. We can't wait to go back!

Wonderful Hotel, with friendly staff. The pool is wonderful, hot tub is great. The beach is unbelievable. You can rent a kayak and enjoy the scenery.

Excellent location. The beach and swimming pool areas are great, clean and accessible. The manager, Rob, and his staff were excellent and attentive hosts. Super helpful. I loved the breakfasts and variety on offer.

Amazing stay. Great service, dive facilities on deck, hotel has its own saltwater underground cave to swim in! Only downside would be the food (not as available 24/7, and limited options).

The location is amazing close to the airport. The caves were magical. To be able to have a massage in the cave was a once in a lifetime expierence. The rooms look dated. The hotel service staff member were gard to find around the pool. The hot tub wasn't really hot. The gym machine thatbis closed to the stairs Tony Little machine should be thrown away I literally almost broke my back. They need a rowing machine

Location ins convenient - close to the airport. Front desk staff were generally friendly and helpful. Rooms, especially bathrooms, are in need of a renovation. Bathroom door had broken hinge, multiple tiles in the shower had some to quarter size holes. Overall, not a bad place to stay, some simple fixes and this place would be a lot nicer.

Just back from Grotto Bay after spending 5 days with my family. Great location close to the airport but never disturbed by the sound of planes. Private beach was clean and the water was always calm at this location. My son's loved swimming out to water trampoline and slides. I highly recommend getting the all inclusive package as the meals and drinks can get expensive. We are not big drinkers but the drinks during the day and night would have added up. With all inclusive plan non motorized equipment is also free. The pool is nice but it can be hard to get an umbrella sometimes. Staff was wonderful. Only minor negative was the room was a tad small.

Amazing views, delightful Sunday Brunch menu, good service. What's not to like?..... renovation work directly besides where your sat to eat! I understand the need to improve facilities and the plans look amazing. But, as they say "You can't have your cake and eat it" Expecting diners to attend, pay and enjoy a Sunday lunch whilst continual hammering to knock a wall down beside you is ridiculous

We love this hotel because of its location and practicality for taking the bus! The service you receive is fantastic and if you revisit you can expect to be remembered! Excellent food and if you go all inclusive you have so much choice . We love the swimming pool . The beach is unspectacular but good enough to sunbathe on and take a dip in the sea. It's very safe for families. You can book trips with dive Bermuda which is on site. If you want to indulge in spa treatments then you can luxuriate in the caves . If you like to walk it's not far from Blue hole park and tom Moore's jungle. It's within easy walking distance of the swizzle Inn baskets ice cream parlour and crystal caves A little further to Coney Island and Bailey's bay The rooms are a bit small and can be noisy if you are by the steps . Try to avoid interconnected rooms It's close to the airport so after a flight you will be at the hotel within 10 minutes If you don't like taking buses you can order a taxi at the hotel .

My family of three spent the end of 2022 at this resort. We stayed for a total of 7 days and 7 nights. We chose all inclusive plan. These are the highlights of our stay: *absolutely friendly and accommodating staff. You will be treated like royalty starting at the front door all the way to the water sports center. We greatly appreciated the kind treatment from Marletha (front desk), Michael, Veronica, Mathew (maitre ds), Will, Wilfredo, Esteban, Belvin (at the restaurant), Ryan (at the dock). *complementary “tea time”. We LOVED the days in which traditional biscuits were served. *complementary bus passes and access to water sports gear. *daily, fun activities for guests (walks, movie marathons, cultural events, seasonal parties). *beautiful white sand beach with clear water. Grotto Bay is the perfect scenario for sunbathing, swimming, snorkeling, kayaking, paddle boating. *hotel exclusive cave. The Cathedral Cave is breathtaking. All in all Grotto Bay Resort and Spa will not disappoint you if your goal is to forget about the frigid winter weather, work, school, or any other stressful event from “real life”.

After being sent to an international destination for work, I knew that I would have to rely on resort accommodations or surrounding establishments for food. I opted for the resort and immediately regretted it. While the buffet options and service is excellent, as well as the young ladies servicing the front desk, the service rendered by Winston at the bar was horrible. Whether here for work or pleasure, I would not want to ever be on the receiving end of Winston’s snarky and condescending service as a patron of this resort. While currently here for work, Winston’s lack of service was enough to convince me to never consider this resort if ever visiting for pleasure.

We had a wonderful and very relaxing stay at this resort in March 2023. The food and drinks were excellent. The staff were exceptional, always friendly and helpful, answering all our questions. The cave swimming at the resort was a highlight, as well as kayaking and relaxing by the pool. If you are looking for a relaxing vacation I definitely recommend this resort. Can’t wait to return!

My wife and I recently spent a week here. I cannot say enough about how much we enjoyed our time. The staff were all amazing, friendly, and attentive. The food was unbelievable; exceeding my expectations. Lots of great amenities to take advantage of. While the weather didn't totally cooperate, being unseasonably cool, the location was perfect to hop on a bus and explore the beautiful island and its incredible history. We will definitely be returning in the future, dreaming of the trip already.

My family and I just finished 5 days at Grotto Bay. This is our 3rd time and we love the property. The best things about this property are the comfortable rooms with great a/c, the small but nice beach, and the pleasant employees. There are two small wrecks which provide great snorkeling spots. The downside is the Wi-Fi barely works. The Swizzle Inn door is a great stop for meals and drinks. It’s also right next to the blue hole which is a great place for swimming.

Service was exceptional, however the food was consistently under seasoned and lacked taste. Multiple guests complained of indigestion and nausea from consuming the meals consistently. The resort itself could use some updates and renovations.

Rooms were clean and the bed very comfortable. Staff were all very friendly. The Restaurant service and food amazing. Vinnay and Danny always had a smile and amazing service. The location is great. Although close to the airport it was not noisy at all. The cave's and beach are lovely. Bus stops right out front of the resort. The Swizzel Inn and Pub are a few mins walk up the road. Make sure to stop for a pint. Highly recommend this resort and Trip to the beautiful Island of Bermuda.

This resort was very nice! If you can get an ocean view room. The rooms were amazing and buffet food was actually good only drawback was service was a little slow. But other than that no complaints!

  • 5/5 Karen K. 1 year ago on Google
Absolutely loved this resort! I would give the staff a 10 + in friendliness and service. The food was delicious and less expensive than a few of the restaurants we ate at. My only recommendation is to update and repair the gym equipment. We would definitely staff here again.

Have not stayed in the hotel yet but have eaten here on a few occasions. Beautiful location, great food and prices. Love the interior decor with the wood and plants. Very friendly staff. Gorgeous setting for the pool and hot tub. Have also paddle boarded and rented a boat from the water sports venue which was amazing.

We did not do an all-inclusive package, as we planned to do some meals out. That was probably a mistake. Breakfast was good. Recommend the eggs, sausage links, and fruit. Coffee was fine, on the darker side for my taste. Definitely got tired of the lunch/dinner offerings by the end of four days. Note that room service, while available, is not included in any package. Staff are great for the most part. 9:30am knocks at our door to clean the rooms were not, so make sure you put your "do not disturb" sign out if you're a late sleeper like us. Also, beware of thin walls. Alarms, conversations, etc. Seating on the beach along the cove is definitely a stake out situation for chairs, as there's not quite enough capacity on the beach to accommodate everyone if the hotel is full. Also, there's enough young children that they kind of take over. Bermuda is expensive. While this place felt expensive, it was on the cheaper side of what was available, and you get what you pay for. Our stay was good for what we wanted (mostly to vege and not think), but I wouldn't say we'd recommend it.

Beautiful location. Very close to the airport for convenience. Great service and very friendly staff. Property is well maintained and clean. Room was clean. Bathroom was small but clean with all basic amenities. Could do with an additional towel rod or hooks. Food at the three restaurants was great. Gluten free options available and the staff was always willing to accommodate for other food sensitivities. Beach area at the hotel was also well kept. There is kayaking and paddle boarding available for guests. Overall, it was a wonderful experience.

We went in February and it was mostly empty, we had the beaches almost totally to ourselves! Great location near the airport with a bus stop on the property and a couple of restaurants nearby. The restaurant at the resort was also amazing. Friendly helpful staff, beautiful rooms, peaceful grounds. We would definitely stay here again!

  • 5/5 Sophie E. 1 year ago on Google
Beautiful, and as Bermuda goes, affordable hotel, situated only 4 minutes from the airport. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. The location of the hotel was walkable to several local destinations including Blue Hole, Tom Moore's Jungle, Crystal and Fantasy Caves, and the Swizzle Inn, to name a few. The rooms were bright and clean, and almost all of them have breathtaking bay-views. The food was amazing and the all-inclusive package is well worth it. I will definitely be back.
