A good experience of visiting Inidia China Border, you need to take a permit through any local travel operator, it has a rich history of Inidian army. It's on an altitude of 14k feet and you need to climb stairs to visit the final check point. It's closed on Mondays

The view point is just surreal. By that I mean, imagine half of the mountains you see are from India and remaining are in China. You can clearly see the border and sometimes you can even witness the Chinese soldiers and shake their hands. Make sure you are appropriately dressed up otherwise it could really become hard as again it’s around 15000ft above from sea level. Difficulties- High altitude so it’s hard to breathe as less oxygen. What makes it more difficult is the 80-90 stairs that you need to climb to reach to the view point. The surface could be with black ice so ensure you are wearing good snow shoes. Or atleast be mindful of the floor. Suggestions - Get camphor box which helps in breathing. Walk slowly while climbing the stairs and mindful of breathing, you have to breathe consciously. Do not eat anything prior or during the climb. Consume sugar items, it helps

It was an overwhelming experience at Nathula pass - india-china border. We visited there on 31st december and the environment and atmosphere was awesome up there. 14000+ altitude and below zero temperature make this place a bit more challenging and adventurous. People with breathing issue should carry oxygen container with them to avoid any kind of trouble.

If you visit Gangtok then must visit this place. Nathula pass is best place to visit. You can take bike/cab on rent from Gangtok and visit here. If you are good in riding then only take bike on rent because roads are very scary but at the end you will get the reward. You will get the snow if you visit in November to January. You have to start your journey before 10 otherwise you were not allowed to visit Nathula pass and china border.

If you're in gangtok then a must visit place. Lucky to hv bright sun at the top so could see entire area nicely . Indian army persons are very helpful n polite. As there is no snow during this time of year I cd not see. Points to note are- 1. One need a permit to visit this area. So apply n get in advance. It's online process. 2. Total Time required is around 6 hrs. Due to hilly area average speed of vehicles is not more than 30 km. 3. As it's high altitude area, about 15000 feet one may experience breathing problem n fatigue. 4. Wear proper shoes, preferably sports shoe n thick cotton sox. 5. Tea n snacks are available there. 6. Photography is strictly prohibited. Multiple cc cameras are installed. N army is very vigilant. So don't get tempted at all.

Have yo enter in line so it may take 20-30 minutes. No need of tickets, but pass required for all visitors with car details, which you need to prepare from Gangtok. Altitude is pretty high so breathing problems may occur. Take an oxygen can and some camphor. Parking is available but you have to walk to find your car on the way back. Network is not available so mind your car details. Avoid fast running or laughing hard as it can increase breathing problem. Pay and use toilet available. Better not to smoke here but can drink.

Worth visiting if you are in Sikkim. The army is very friendly.. no allowance of Phone on the peak, so no border clicks. There is a restaurant in the way so if you are feeling dizzy, you can regenerate it there. So perfectly maintained by BRO.
