It's a big duck. What more is there to say? If you need a little whimsy on your drive through Long Island, this should definitely be added as a stop. There's a little gift shop inside but it's really not much. Great place to jump out and grab a picture. There's also a very clean public restroom and some picnic tables if you want to make a pit stop.

We have seen The Big Duck several times driving by. We finally made it in. It is usually open although it may seem to be closed. The sign on the door was awesome lol. To my amazement it is pretty big inside. Anything you purchase at this Historical Landmark is used to Preserve it. So we purchased a few things to keep it where it belongs. We met the owner and heard awesome stories of its origin. My husband and I loved it. We will definitely be going back. I wont give to many photos as you need to see the History yourself. Christmas is a huge thing there. Enjoy.

I’ve been to many roadside attractions and this is definitely super cool. If you are in the area I’d recommend stopping by. If you are 6 hours away like me I’d still recommend stopping by. The duck is a little smaller than I had envisioned though. Parking could be difficult / impossible if it’s busy. There’s also a wonderful looking field behind the duck with picnic tables.

Bug duck is a great piece art. There are plenty of picnic tables here. Shop doesn't open until 10 am, but if you want pictures with the big duck, it's always here.

An old-school roadside curiosity, it's a giant duck shaped building and inside is half gift shop, half museum. We met an older man called Mr T who warm and kind and funny, very knowledgeable about the duck, the area and life in general. Love this spot.

I really like roadside oddities and the Big Duck is one of the best. I have wanted to see it in person for years, so what better day to see Americana than on Independence Day? I was glad the gift she and barn were open on the holiday.

More interesting than the Big Duck were the folks working and hanging out there. Had some engaging conversations while there. Suggest you talk to the fellow who works there. Ask him about anything, he will have something to say on it. Fun.

Look, you can’t live on Long Island or have visitors from outta town, and Not take them to see this… lolol. Great lunch spot (Farm Country Kitchen) on the water 3 mins away from here so it’s worth it.

What else can be said? It's a big duck. According to Long Island legend, buildings that look like the things they sell are called 'ducks' because of this big duck that used to sell ducks. It does not sell ducks now, but it does sell Big Duck memorabilia. There was a great controversy when this duck was moved to a nearby state park, but it is now in its original location.

Stopped by on the way home from Montauk. The gentleman behind the counter educated my son and I about the history of the duck, duck farms on LI, and Long Island in general. We enjoyed ourselves and the conversation.

Definitely worth a visit if around the area. About 10-15mins from Tanger Outlet. The duck was a little smaller than I had expected. But it's iconic. We left before the tour bus arrive. Clean bathroom and 5 parking spot

Recently I've been all about adventuring, seeing things I haven't seen yet or haven't seen in awhile exploring new places. So I picked the big duck for my son and I to go on one of our adventures. The gift shop was closed when we got there but it was still nice to see. There's nature trails around the duck that I'd like to hike one time but my son wasn't up for the hiking, he was cold and wanted to be back in the car. If you live on LI and haven't seen the big duck you need to!

I mean, what is there to say? This is a legendary place to visit on Long Island. I wasn’t able to visit the shop because it was closed, but that didn’t stop me from having an amazing time! Truly incredible .

A unique place to stop, and inside is a great little gift shop. I was here during the summer and enjoyed the excellent pollinator garden planted around the duck :) - visited on August 6, 2021

In town for a wedding and looked up "attractions near" as this came up. We stopped in and the local historian within the gift shop gave us the 411 on this duck. The history was unique and better told by him then me here. So stop on by if you find yourself in the area and check this out. There are clean bathrooms onsite and even though parking is limited, you will be glad you stopped by

If you’re looking for a one-of-a-kind roadside attraction the Big Duck fits the bill. The attendant inside was very friendly and passionate and we had a lovely conversation. The only thing that let it down was that there were better souvenirs in the towns nearby than at the actual attraction.

Totally worth the visit! I’m glad we stopped by when the gift shop was open; it was fun getting to see the history and talk with the knowledgeable employee. There’s a variety of fun souvenirs.

Must-see for anyone interested in Americana or roadside architecture. Stop in if you’re nearby, or make it the reason for your visit to Long Island, like we did. There are bathrooms and picnic tables to aid you on your journey. It was a special bonus to learn that the very kind woman running the gift shop shared our alma mater.

Fun little shop and very cool big duck to celebrate duck farming history!

This is one of those historic Long Island places you just have to visit. Is it going to blow you away with excitement? No. Is it neat to think that this building was built in 1931, coming up on 100 years, to promote the very large duck farming industry that no longer exists on that scale on Long Island? I think so. Long story short, it's a large duck building with a gift shop and history to it.

Such a good place for a photo but make sure to go inside! There was a nice man who told us everything about the history of the Giant Duck. There was even merchandise and old articles inside! Definitely worth a look

The statue itself and surrounding area of land it's on is great. There is also benches to sit on and enjoy the view or sun. However there is only enough parking for about 4 cars at a time. Even though I checked their hours before I went both the gift shop and museum was closed and it was 4pm. It was eight of us there and was disappointed. One lady said she doesn't think it has been open for awhile as everytime she stops by at different times it's closed. She also said awhile back the sign on the door said be back at 2pm, out to lunch but noone ever came. Today however the sign said be back at 10am. So who knows. Not sure if it's shut down or just closed til summer. However still great to go visit to look at I guess.
