Horrible experience. I ordered through Door Dash, Bbq chicken, Mac & cheese and Collard greens. MY CHICKEN WAS RAW!!!!!! The BBQ sauce was clear. Threw everything away. I wouldn’t feed this to a person stranded on a deserted island. NEVER AGAIN. This place honestly needs to be shut down.

The food was good quick and cheap. The half and half are the best drinks in the city in my opinion. I ordered the steak fish, mac and cheese, cabbage. The fish was cooked perfectly and the cabbage was slamming, I have no complaints. The Mac and cheese on the other hand is good but it's definitely not great. Overall I think soul boat is a nice place to eat but I wouldn't say it's the best. The atmosphere is pretty cool and laid back and the food comes out quick. The service is great and the cashier is very polite.

Boiiiiii!!!!! So yall was just hiding this place? In MD? Just straight keeping secrets?? How could you??!! I was craving some fried catfish and boyyyyy did this place deliver. My catfish was a crispy, golden brown. I also got the Mac and cheese and rice and gravy. So freaking good!! I got that half and half tea and the carrot cake. This the food that make you dance and slap ya momma across the room. Now I will say...that wait aint nothing to laugh about. You gonna wait whether you order ahead or walk in. So, don't have no plans or you're gonna miss em. Either way I highly recommend them! Wish I had a place this back home.

Was going to order out after recommendation from neighbor but quickly changed my mind after seeing this. I’m so glad that I went in and didn’t order over phone only. These type of establishments know which type of communities will accept this. The display looks like it was not been cleaned in the longest and raw fish is passed through and kept there. I know the raw fish touches those areas and I’m surprised that health inspection has not shut them down. I think it’s blatant disrespect to show this to your patrons…because you know that they don’t care. Shameful!

This half & half alone is worth the visit! This drink is the only reason I came by. For $2, you cannot beat the taste and volume of this treat. A photo does no justice to the party your taste buds will have, I promise you. A good half & half blends a lovely sweet tea and sweet, tangy lemonade. Alone these champs take on any contender. Together, they are a movement to any dance tune you have! Excuse the photo; I almost forgot to take one 🫣 I have not explored the menu, just this beast (4-star only)

Update: my laketrout was so dry it was basically empty. Will not return. First time here. Was in the area so I tried it out. I ordered catfish nuggets, yams, fried chicken, mac&cheese, & lake trout. As another reviewer stated the food is pretty good taste wise but the portions are small. The yams are basic & mac&cheese was very basic. Catfish was ok. Portion sizes are a little bigger than my pics ( I ate some). One platter is not shareable.

Fish taste like old fish and very dry .I could not eat or get pass the strong fish smell and taste. This is not the first time this happen after telling the owner not to cook it dry. They will not get any more of my money . The owner stated after I called to complain The fish is always fresh. Fresh fish do not smell like that.

I usually never leave reviews but I am thoroughly disappointed. Firstly the food is bland, EVERYTHING nothing was seasoned well besides the yams. Secondly, I found a foreign object in my freaking food. Highly disgusted. Will never eat here again.

My bbq chicken was pink and the bbq sauce was clear!! It was soo much “sauce” all over the rest of the food. The rice underneath was soaked in whatever they call sauce. I couldn’t dare to eat it! I just threw it away in disgust!! Just a waste of money!! This place needs to close down.

The food is always fresh and good at Soul Boat...at least when I go. They just need to work on seasoning their food a little better. I love the candied yams though, they're good and not to sweet...some might say, they could use a little more spices, maybe but I like them as is. They have really good fried chicken wings too. I usually buy (2) wings with any meal I get: one for me and one for my husband, for the ride home. I must add, the half and half is ridiculously sweet, I can't drink it but obviously alot of ppl love it because they're still selling it that way. But overall, their food is worth the price.

I truly was just under whelmed by the food. The Turkey wings & cabbage had no flavor or seasonings. Gravy tasted straight out the can. The noodles for the Mac and cheese were hard & it was served luke warm. If I wasn’t running late for work and didn’t have any other choice, I wouldn’t have ate as much as I did. Wont be returning.

Ordered the spare ribs. The amount was small and did not touch like pork spare ribs. Will stick to my turkey wings.

This was my first time being at this restaurant every food I ordered was awesome I had the cornbread fried lake trout fish sweet potatoes with sweet and greens everything was nice my sister also loved her food she's the one who told me about this restaurant you very good service

Food Was Okay. Store was Clean. My Fries were overcooked But overall The Service was Good, Fast, and Friendly. And Fairly Priced. I had the 3 Piece Whiting & 3 Piece Chicken Combo With Fries!!! Very Tasty!!! ESPECIALLY THE CHICKEN!!! I'D COME AGAIN

🩵 My fav "Soul Food" spot! 🩵 I use " Door Dash or Uber Eats" to get My meal delivered which im seeing is $4 to $5 more than the in-store price, due to fees on the delivery app fee's. 🩵 The food is always fresh & my " special instructions" are followed. Only had minor issues w/ my orders only " 2 times" ( Ex: Added gravy when asked for None... things like that. ), but meals are always fresh and petty good portions for the price. 🩵 ( MY PERSONAL RECOMMENDATIONS ) Rice & Gravy ( Extra Gravy ) Collard Greens Dinner Platter- Salmon w/ 2 Sides Dinner Platter- Porkchops w/ 2 sides ( Ask for " no gravy on porkchops" if you DONT prefer gravy on your Porkchops . )

I ordered mustard wings. The wings had a bit of mustard squirt on each one bite had mustard on it. The mac and cheese was very mediocre the yams were not traditional or as expected the entire meal was a let down. I have pictures. * I ordered the fried salmon previously which was delicious but sadly I wasted $26 on chicken what's a dab of mustard and two mediocre sides.

My family and I were visiting from MD and stopped by Cornbread Newark…it didn’t disappoint. The food, service and atmosphere was stellar! We will return. Kawana, Q , Staff were great!

I like there food. Of course I only get 2 types of fish from them. Haven’t had a bad experience here. I don’t go very often because their prices are too high for me. That’s why I gave them 4 stars. Everyone their has great attitudes towards me. They are very accommodating with their customers. If their prices were lower, I would eat their more often. But I would definitely recommend them.

I had the best steak fish dinner. There was large potion of food. The potatoe salad was the best I have eaten

Ordered from here from grub hub on yesterday, they forgot a side order, I was able to go to the location and pick up the side with some free extras. Love the food and the customer service was amazing looking forward to eating here again. Thank You Soul Boat.

I was the last customer tonight around 9:55 right before close and they were very were very kind to me on the phone and in person. Clean nice establishment when I came in. They cooked my order even after doors closed and handed me a very hot very delicious meal with extra extra ribs and enormous sides. I feel like family tonight meal was so delicious put me right to sleep Thank you for a excellent wonderful experience soul boat keep up the great work 😊
