Finally found the best sushi I've had in Maryland since I was in Japan! Excellent customer service and all the crew were very attentive. Will be back for sure!

Great sushi from this place. The tuna sample was amazing. Didn't love the salad dressing. (Big deal). And the sashimi plate we got wasn't my favorite. But presentation and flavor was great!

This is a great place with beautiful views. They have a front section where you can see all the main street action and they have an outdoor patio in the back where you get beautiful scenic views. The food is pretty good. Nothing to complain about. The services is good. I will say that the place is generally always busy and so the staff are always moving. The drinks are beautiful. Highly suggest trying them. I got the keto kiss which is a riceless roll and it was delicious.

All sushi dishes we ordered were delicious, the Volcano sushi being the best. There were four of us and all agreed this was one of the best sushi restaurants they have been to in the area. If you are close to the historic Ellicott City, #UMIsushi is a must place to visit. No designated parking. But there is free parking next to the Little Market Cafe or Park Ridge Creamery.

The best sushi I’ve ever had paired with incredible presentation & a beautiful patio on the river. We’re obsessed and will definitely be back. Did I mention the price point is right on par with less “fancy” restaurants? Truly a unicorn

This is one of the best sushi places in Maryland. Excellent and fresh fish that they import daily. We are regulars at this restaurant and they give soup, salad, and cake for free. You MUST try the omakase fish on the special menu: these fish are very special and delicious. It is pricey but worth it. Pictured is the omakase sushi and omakase sashimi. Excellent variety of fish, they always have bluefin Toro and uni which is super fresh and delicious. Highly recommend for birthdays as well.

Food ordered: (1) Hibachi Steak and Shrimp with Fried Rice, Miso Soup, and House Salad; (2) Shrimp and Vegetable Tempura with Fried Rice, Miso Soup, and House Salad; (3) Jalapeno Tempura Roll. Food is delicious. Great variety on menu. I have visited several Japanese restaurants. This restaurant is definitely on top of my list.

Great vegetarian food! We had the bean curd avocado sushi which was excellent. Also had the hibachi vegetables. The broccoli was soft and absorbed a lot of the sauce which made it soooo flavorful. Other veggies included mushrooms, onions, and carrots. We had it with a side of fried rice which was perfectly cooked. The clear soup was extremely flavorful. I’ve never had such flavorful vegetarian broth before! Cheesecake was complementary.

This is my favorite sushi spot in Maryland. Low key with a beautiful back deck. Staff is friendly, drinks are AMAZING, and the sushi is delicious. They were great with my friend’s sesame allergy.

I've been wanting to check this place out and I'm glad I finally found the time. I'm a sushi lover, but today they tempted me with a Teriyaki Bento Box (lunch size). Wow 👌 a little bit of everything yummy. I visited this location when it was a different restaurant, and they've done a nice job turning it into their own space. Great spot in OEC.

We had a great time for lunch! We sat outside and the setup was beautiful. All the flowers and sitting next to a stream made for a wonderful environment. I recommend the royal steak sushi, it was delicious!

UMI Sushi serves sushi, hibachi, and a variety of cooked Asian dishes. UMI is located in the beautiful Old Ellicott City strip. With an elegant Asian inspired inside, the atmosphere is calm and comfortable. They also have accessible bathrooms, and outdoor seating with heaters available year round.

I enjoy Umi Sushi. It's on the more expensive side but it's very good. We like to sit outside (which explains the red tinting to everything in the pictures). Service is good, sometimes a little slow. Our server this time made great recommendations based on what we like. They weren't the most expensive items either. Sushi was fresh and very good as always.

Quality of ingredients is excellent, Chef's rolls are well thought out & tasty. Variety of menu options, accommodating different dietary restrictions or interests. Wait staff is more than friendly, attentive, & efficient. Atmosphere inside is cozy and clean. The back patio is perfectly aesthetic, making for a great date night or outing with friends or family. Front patio is lovely for an intimate outing! Service for outdoor seating areas exceeds expectations! On a more personal note, having moved to this area only recently & trying to find the perfect sushi spot - my family has succeeded with Umi sushi. They have affordable options and more high end food options, either way ordering carry out has been a breeze. Umi's thoughtfulness and care for their customers has made us feel at home. They have gone the extra mile to give us "on the house" dessert or rolls. We will typically leave a few extra minutes to park if ordering carryout, there are spots out front the restaurant that you can park if you intend to be in/out. On a day where we intend to dine in, we will park in the uphill lot behind EC Pop's (so long as they are closed & their neighboring salon, which usually both are for dinner hours). Parking there makes an easy walk around the corner to Umi's! All in all, you won't be disappointed with Umi's! Rather, you will fall in love.

Found this place on my way home from work one night and was pleasantly surprised. Great sushi, great presentation, fancy drinks and a nice atmosphere. The little town of Ellicott city is very nice to walk around in too.

Great place to satisfy any sushi craving. I've ordered the poke bowls several times and it is always great! The rolls and sushi itself are definitely delicious as well. The cocktails are also surprisingly good for a place that doesnt focus on it. The service was also good. They checked on us several times to make sure everything was good. The atmosphere is also on point, especially the outdoor area. I quite like the decorations and lights they have up. All in all, a great place to meet up and grab some sushi. Just be ready to spend a decent chunk of change.

My fiancé and I had a sushi craving tonight so we decided to go try out UMI. I remember seeing this being advertised when they first opened. Glad we decide to go to old town Ellicott City. Parking was difficult tonight due to events around the area but we got lucky. The food at UMI did not disappoint it was quality for the buck. Our server JoJo did a fantastic job serving us tonight. I would go back again!

The is the best sushi the area. The outdoor seating by the river provides great ambiance. Due to delicious sushi, it's often too busy, so we frequently order take-out. It's all good.

This is great Japanese place with great ambiance. The outdoor seating is right by the river and really nice when sitting outside. The quality of the sushi is really good here. It's hard to find sushi places with quality fish and this place has it. Quality is comparable to sushi sono and sushi king in Columbia. The menu features seafood from Japan and Hawaii, but for a premium of course. The estimated time for pickup for carry out has been accurate this far. Took about 30 min even on a busy night.

Made reservations for Saturday night, place was busy and packed and was pleasantly surprised how quick the service was and that food came out very quickly. I got the omakase nigiri set, and I was again pleasantly surprised at the cuts of fish offered, and that each piece was amazing. Easily the best sushi in MD.

best sushi i’ve had at a very fair price. the clear soup was the best i’ve had. the garlic chili tofu is perfectly crisp on the outside while very soft on the inside. the vegetable tempura has a large serving size with a delicious sauce. the angry lobster roll is hands down the best roll i’ve tried. highly recommend, great service, one of my favorite places to eat.

Some of the best sushi around. Love the new outdoor patio. If you plan on going on a weekend I highly recommend a reservation as they can be quite busy. Unfortunately, if you use a walking aid or wheelchair you will not be able to access the outdoor patio and entering the restaurant itself can be quite a challenge due to a steep ramp.

Some of the best sushi I've ever had! Good portion size, very aesthetic presentation, fresh ingredients and cool atmosphere! They have a unique mixed drink selection that offer something for everyone! Knowledgeable staff and quick service! Highly recommended!
