Located at the Maryland fairgrounds. We were here for a private event. The space was great and ideal for the occasion. Bartenders were responsive and professional. Food was pretty good...I liked the spinach dip.

Nice little hidden place, karaoke on Friday nights is fun. Food is decent, and priced right. My fiance got an amazing soft shell crab sandwich, and the oysters tasted amazing. The only negative was the icy cocktail sauce, as they probably keep the little cups on ice. We ordered 6 blue point and 6 Chincoteague and got 7 of each!

The new restaurant operator has a very good menu, if anyone liked the original Nicks Fish House & Nicks Inner Harbor Seafood will like & enjoy their latest venture, Nicks Grandstand Grille & Crab house, in the Grandstand @ The Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium.

Nick’s is the best kept secret! It is located next to the OTB in the Timonium State Fairgrounds. The crab corn chowder is thick & chocked full of crab. Best $8 I have ever spent on chowder. And the fried oysters were superb! Bet or just watch the ponies on TVs located all around the restaurant. Or walk thru a door to the OTB. Security has your back! Where else can you eat in peace & know you are safe? Give it a try today!

First time visiting Nick's Grandstand Grill. Our server was very friendly and welcoming and was helpful in our food Choice. We decided to start with bloody Mary's and they were delicious! She gave us a rundown of the days specials and we chose the crab balls and meatball sliders. I must say that I didn't have high expectations because I'm usually very critical, as, I am a chef at another restaurant, but, I was blown away by the crab balls. They were incredible! There were 8 of them for only $6. Just the right amount of breading and full of lump crab. Melted in my mouth! The meatball sliders were ok. We will definitely be returning soon to try some other items on what looks to be a great menu! Keep it up guys!

UPDATE: I will never step foot in here again! Understaffed and manager needs to brush up on what's required of a manager! Kitchen can't read a ticket. Wait Staff needs to make sure that what is ordered is what is delivered. Some food items weren't available (again). Drinks were horrible so just stick to beer! Snippy full of herself baretender needs an attitude check! We walked out!

Great Friday night at Nick's. Crab cake and pit beef were wonderful. Great service from Molly. Karaoke with Mark Bishop was delightful. Didn't make any wagers, but still came out a winner!

I was disappointed in the food. Clam strips tasted like frozen ones from the grocery store and the calamari wasn't much better. The soft crab sandwich was decent but my daughter ordered salmon which was over cooked and dry. The lettuce in the salad and on my sandwich was wilted and soggy.

Crab soup smelled funny and tasted horrible!! For a “crab house’ to have bad soup, I should have know the rest of the food was bad, and it was!! My husband got the fish and chips, which was bearable, but still no seasoning . I got the Pitt ham and beef, no seasoning whatsoever and didn’t taste like it was grilled or smoked at all!! The waitress didn’t even ask if we wanted more to drink. It was a pretty bad experience. And the menu has nothing that’s on the pictures. They said they offered boardwalk fries…not!!

My spouse and I got trapped in a hailstorm outside, and these WONDERFUL people saw us, helped us get dry, and gave us a delicious cup of coffee. I cannot recommend this place enough, truly beautiful people work here! The food and drinks are amazing as well!

Subpar food and even worse service. It took 10 minutes for the server to bring the menus. After order was placed it took 20 minutes to bring one cup of soup, then another 20 minutes to bring rest of the food. The salmon was bitter and dry, took another 15 minutes for the server to come and check on our table and take the salmon back. Rest of the food was mediocre at best. Had to walk to the bar to ask for a check. Place was not busy at all.

We held an organization event here and had a wonderful experience. The staff was awesome and provided accommodations beyond our expectations. The food was awesome and the bathrooms were very clean. I look clear to my next visit.

Went for Charm City trivia... the trivia was a great time, the food was ok, the service was ABYSMAL! We'd love to go back for horse betting and more trivia but what would have been an amazing time was just soured.

We went into the bar today at 4 and sat at the bar for about 10 minutes. Saw that the cook saw us and was pissed that we were there. The place was empty. The bartender came and told us they were closed. Damn , the cook runs this place. Crazy

The food is good ,if you like rosters than you will love Nicks the folks are really nice , you can also get crabs everyone love crabs and seafood plus the atmosphere is great you must go to enjoy...

Last Friday nights service terrible.... that's why no tip.....Sorry.... I tip how I'm treated......🤔😔 Plus all my friends got their food on plates I got my salad in a carryout container not too cool

The Fish and Chips were amazing. They tasted like fresh caught, flakey fish that'd been hand battered. The rest of the food was good. The location is in an OTB facility so it may not be for everyone, but we had a pretty good lunch overall.

Excellent food!!! Very unique!! Sushi was amazing!!! Raw bar looks awesome!! The atmosphere is very unique!!! Highly recommend!! I'd call it a hidden jem!! We stumbled upon it and live 2 hrs away and really liked it!!!

Affordable Maryland style food and classic sandwiches. We chose to go the sandwich route, they were good. Had hoped they would make the chips in house, but they were Utz in a bag. They make crushes the right way, fresh juice, made right at the bar. Their beer menu was also very broad. You're likely to find a drink that fits your tastes. It's not in an easy to find location, but if you're at the state fairgrounds for an event, it's worth a drive over. It'll be more affordable than the expo food, with greater variety in drinks.

Service was slow and the food came out cold. We had to ask for water and the cole slaw that came with our meals a couple times. Even after sending it back, it just came out warm. Not recommended!

Ate here on 07/22/2022..Ordered Ribs and they had cold crabs,2.00 each. Ordered 12,ate one,then open another one n it smelled bad, so threw it in the bucket, opened another one,seemed ok then opened another one n it smelled horrible..they were from a crab feast n they were selling them as cold crabs..sent them back n I was credited for 10..and told they threw them away.. Ordered Fried Carmari, well my stomach started to bother me about an 1/2 later..and did not eat most of the Carmari..left n went home..nothing else to eat..by 12 midnight my stomach was really upset n felt like I would throw up..I started to think food poison.. said if I did start throwing up I would go to Hospital to be sure.. worried me that they would serve crabs that were now 4 days old n that they did not check them first.. Will never go back...Feel like they would rather make a Buck then worry about the safety of customers.

Stopped in for a quick lunch. Had the Soft Crab. It was nice and full, but I'd like it to be seasoned a bit more. Sweet potato fries were very good.
