Might be an interesting museum, unfortunately we didn't have a chance to enjoy it... When we walked in no one sat at the entry desk. After looking around a bit we found one employee was sitting in an office in the back. She seemed annoyed when she saw us, but she turned on the lights so we could start our visit. Unfortunately all the monitors displaying movies where still not turned on. 2/5 stars because museum might be ok, but we didn't feel welcomed at all so we left after a short time

It was near our hotel. It is free of charge and traces the history of the police from the French to modern day.

Exceptional story of the Vietnamese police in Hanoi. Newly renovated (writing this 2018), airconditioned, bright, spacious. It tells a great story of the police force throughout the years. And it’s all for free! Recommend if you have an open mind and want to check out a good museum!

Excellent, well-kept museum with genuinely friendly staff. The exhibits were informative (though obviously one-sided as is typical in Vietnam) and there is plenty to see and read. We stayed for about an hour. Entry is free.

The Hanoi Police Museum is a small but spectacular museums in Hanoi, situated near Hoa Loa Prison. It offers interesting history of Hanoi's police force and some fascinating photographs and exhibits. Admission to the museum is free. Daily visiting hour is 08:00-17:00. The museum is definitely worth an hour’s exploration.

Just a forewarning the museum shut at 3:50pm despite Google indicating 4:30pm was when it closed. They didn't check whether anyone was in there before locking up, so almost got locked in. Make your presence known if you're in there.

Opening hours outside are incorrect. Don’t assume it will be open when you expect, because it might not be.
