Chu Quyen communal house, also known as Chang communal house, is an ancient communal house dating back to the late 17th century. This communal house represents traditional Vietnamese folk wooden architecture in the Later Le period. Chu Quyen communal house is located in Chau Chang village, Chu Minh commune, Ba Vi district, Hanoi. Along with other communal houses that are quite outstanding in their architectural and artistic value, these communal houses are all located in the land of Doai such as: Tho Tang communal house (Vinh Phuc), Tay Dang communal house (Ba Vi, Hanoi), Thanh Hoa communal house (Vinh Phuc), Tay Dang communal house (Ba Vi, Hanoi), Thanh Hoa communal house Lung (Ba Vi, Hanoi), Huong Canh communal house (Binh Xuyen, Vinh Phuc),..., and a series of communal houses in large numbers that still exist today in the Doai region, Chu Quyen communal house has contributed creating an outstanding architectural style value in a country located west of Thang Long, worthy of the proverb: "South bridge - North pagoda - Doai communal house". Chu Quyen communal house worships Nha Lang, the eldest child of Ly Phat Tu (VI century) and his concubine La Thi Ngoc Thanh, Nha Lang's mother. Nha Lang Vuong was the son of Ly Phat Tu (571-602). After helping his father defeat the army of King Trieu Viet (548-571), King Nha Lang refused the position of Crown Prince of the East Palace, returned with his mother to live in his maternal hometown (now Chu Quyen village), and then became a Saint. here. To commemorate his merits, the villagers built a temple and honored him as the village's Tutelary God. Chu Quyen Communal House has been ranked as a cultural and historical relic by the Ministry of Culture according to Decision No. 313/QD dated April 28, 1962, as a type of architectural and artistic relic, with the function of a religious architectural work. Every year, on the 13th, 14th, and 15th days of the first lunar month, local people organize the Chu Quyen Communal House Festival to commemorate the merits of the village's Tutelary God Nha Lang Vuong. In addition to the main rituals that are solemnly organized, the festival also has many folk games that attract a large number of local people and tourists to participate such as: playing chess, ethnic wrestling, dancing and singing... Since ancient times, our people have had the song "South bridge, North pagoda, Doai communal house" to praise the uniqueness, sophistication, and uniqueness of each architectural feature of communal houses in the land of Doai ( Hanoi). From Hanoi, follow Highway 32 about 60km to Pho Na, turn right and continue about 0.5km to Chu Quyen communal house. Chu Quyen communal house is a communal house in Chau Chang village (literally Chang village), Chu Minh commune, Ba Vi district, Hanoi today. In the early 19th century, Chang village was Chau Chang commune (Chu Quyen), Chau Chang district, Tien Phong district, Quang Oai district, Son Tay town - right in the middle of one of the ancient cultural regions: Xu Doai.

Chu Quyen Communal House (Dinh Trang) where Prince Nha Lang is worshiped, son of King Ly Phat Tu and son-in-law of King Trieu Viet Vuong, is one of four famous pavilions in the North for its impressive architecture with wonderful carvings. beautiful by Vietnamese artists of the Later Le Dynasty. The communal house dates back to the late 17th century. The architecture is quite similar to Dinh Bang communal house, but the floor is covered with bricks and looks quite mysterious. In addition, unlike Dinh Bang village communal house, Chu Quyen communal house is an open architectural space, without a system of planks or Ban Ban doors surrounding the four sides of the porch columns, instead there is a low railing system surrounding it. wooden floor system. Chu Quyen Communal House has a "chu Nhat" (一) style plan, i.e. a rectangle running 30 m long, with an architecture of 3 compartments and 2 wings, an area of 395 m2, a traditional wooden frame structure, with full 6 rows of columns: 2 rows of main columns (diameter 60-81 cm), 2 rows of military columns (50 cm), 2 rows of porch columns (50 cm), symmetrical to each other through the house's vertical axis. Column frame in the style of "Summer and Fall" style (i.e. the bottom 1/3 of the column is bulging out) From 2007-2010 the communal house was restored quite well. The Chang communal house restoration project received the 2010 international award for preserving Asia-Pacific architectural heritage in Xi'an, China. The communal house is still quite intact, but it feels a bit cold, really!
