Hostel is OK, but the staff don't emphasize at all with their customers. When you arrive, they ask you for 100k deposit for the towel. I left mine in the bed and later that day wasn't there, probably someone took it unintentionally. When I told them, they not only kept the deposit but made me pay a 200k penalty, which of course they don't tell you when you book the hostel. Be aware of this!

I stayed there for the night of 22 and 23 Match this year. Even though there's air-conditioning in the dorm, it went off after 1 hour so my roommates and I had to keep asking for AC to have it powered on (at least 4 times in total for the night). My roommates and I had no control over AC. I get that that electricity bills are part of their business consideration but that day of my stay was over 33°c and there're 8 guests in the same dorm (full dorm). If you use the curtain of your cubicle, it's practically a sauna. No window in the dorm. The staff brought in an electric fan but took it away not long after. No fan was installed in the dorm. No air circulation. I eventually had a heatstroke because of the dorm which then led to diarrhea for a few days (even after checkout) that I had to visit pharmacy for medication. No change of room/upgrade was offered. Struggling to sleep due to temperature, I cancelled my sightseeing plan for the following day and would rather stay in bed but the hostel's policy of no air-conditioning between 11am and 5pm was a deal breaker. Staff showed minimal understanding of the situation. My time in Hanoi was ruined because of Nexy Hostel. If you value your health, stay elsewhere. If I could give a 0-star rating, I most definitely would.

I had my experience at Nexy Hostel with my friends during our trip to Hanoi and it was great. We spent 3 nights at Nexy and the atmosphere they provided there just simply incredible. Despite of being a native travelling to the capital, the services there were totally worth it. I would never expected that much for an accommodation since my previous vacations in other cities were not that great. Last but not least Nexy Hostel offers a decent price for anyone who wants to pay a visit to the capital and also experience many other culture of Vietnam. Definitely recommend for anyone who is going to Vietnam because you would never expect that how can a hospitality here could make such a great impression to your trip!

Nexy is located in the Old Quarter of Hanoi. It's very easy to get around and it's less than a 10 minute walk from the nearest #86 bus stop (the 86 goes directly to/from the airport). I stayed in the 14-bed dorms. It was spacious and each bed had a large locker to secure packs and luggage. The air conditioning comes on at 5 pm, and it really cools down the room. One drawback was the doors keypad lock. It chimed every time it was used. Also, the door didn't automatically close shut, and a short alarm would inevitably sound. But you just got used to making sure the door was shut every time you used it. There's an unsecured luggage rack on the 2nd floor. The rooftop terrace has a great view of the neighbourhood. I recommend the walking tour and the food tour. Both depart from the hostel's lobby.

I booked a dorm here for 4 nights and I absolutely loved it. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. The staff was super friendly and helped me book everything. They also gave me great recommendations on where to go in the city. The vibe of the hostel is really good too. so overall i had a amazing experience!

The 8 bed dorm is extremely small. You cannot even properly open the door because of people’s luggage on the ground. Every bed has a small locker but that’s just enough for your valuables. some people even had to take their luggage in their bed because there wasn’t enough space. I complaint and got „upgraded“ to a 14 bed dorm while paying the same amount as for the 8 bed dorm. Staff said that you would see the small size of the room on their online pictures wherefore I should be glad to get „upgraded“. Other points that I was missing in that hostel was a comfortable common area. All the areas where you could chill are scattered around the different floors of the hostel which makes it not too easy too meet people. Even you can refill your water bottle at the hostel’s bar it’s cheaper to get bottled water at stores around. Very sad considering how cheap water from a dispenser is, and that people getting bottled water instead. A plus of that hostel is the location though.

I recently stayed at Nexy Hostel and I was not impressed. The wifi was terrible. The bathrooms smelled awful - like they hadn't been cleaned in weeks. And the "superior" room that I booked wasn't actually superior - it felt more like a regular room. On a positive note, there were some cool chill areas where you could relax and socialize with other guests which was really nice. Overall though, I wouldn't stay here again if given an option as there are better hostels around for similar prices.

I had a nice stay at Nexy, the best hostel I can possobly find in the city or even Vietnam! The bed is so comfortable with cleaned linens. The room was spacious with locker big enough for my backpack. The staff were so nice to talk to and can help you with basically anything you need. Would definitely recommend staying here.

I really like the location in the Old Quarter. One man does fantastic artwork. Nobody goes up to the scenic rooftop which is nice. The happy hour bartender is hilarious (2 beers for $1.70 during happy hour). The bathrooms and showers don't have the cleanest setup. They are in the same room, and the toilet is directly next to the showers on the same level. They tried offering me a tour to Ninh Binh but it was overpriced. I did my own personal tour of Ninh Binh for half of the price. Receptionists were all very helpful. The in house sodas and water bottles are at a higher cost than the nearby corner stores. The 14 person dorm is awesome. Huge beds and lockers. Really good set up. Overall, I'd stay here again. I just wish the bathroom setup was different. P.S. The pizza delivery service through the bar is A+. It exceeded expectations and the pizza was bigger than expected.

Nice clean modern looking hostel right in the middle of Old Town Hanoi. I would definitely recommend staying here as its very comfortable, they have a pool table area and a roof top which massively helps with the social ability for solo travellers. The location made it so almost all the Hanoi sites were within a 10/15 min walk. Just be aware that they dont have their bar open or have any breakfast, which was a bit disappointing as it wasnt mentioned when i booked, so call ahead to check if this is something you are looking forward to.

Private room. Ok place. Room seemed clean. Nice team. But drainage in the wet room wasn’t effective and the whole wet room and toilet would be out of use for a while after a quick shower. Extremely annoying.

Amazing value for money. We stayed in a private room. Staff were very friendly and recommended dinner and breakfast, both delicious! Right in the middle of all the action. Bring earplugs because the street and AC are loud. The bathroom offers little privacy. We would definitely stay again.

Very good hostel for the price and to meet people. Common areas have enough going on. Maybe some shelving in the bathrooms would be good? Rooms are massive. All have curtains and massive lockable drawers under the bed. Fit all 3 of my bags. Thnx guys

Pretty good hostel with the perfect location. We paid extra for a better bunk on Hostel World, but it was an option that didn’t seem to exist. In fact my bunk did not have any shelves at all while others had full cabinets, so maybe they got my “premium” bunk. Beds were really nice! Pretty bad fruit fly problem with the liquor bottles, so I suggest you stick with beer only.

Great hostel! I had a private twin bed with an ensuite and it had everything we needed. The price was great and the staff is there 24/7 to help. The location is very central in the old quarter and you can easily walk to all of the sights. The entire property was well kept and clean. The room was quiet, bed was comfy, and the AC also had heat which was needed in January. I would recommend this hostel!

Friendly staff, great location in central old town. Modern rooms with comfortable beds that have curtains. However WiFi was very poor. Happy hour 2 for 1 on beers and some drinks but price is still 30 so can find cheaper outside.

We’ve stayed at Nexy Hostel during both our trips to Vietnam and we’d happily come back on future trips. The rooms and clean and tidy and the service from the staff is outstanding. Location wise you’re right in the Old Quarter with great food and drink on the doorstep.

Very central location with the most comfortable beds I've found in Vietnam Hostels. Staff is very accommodating if you need to wait in the hostel after checking out.

Wonderful hostel. Friendly and helpful staff. Dorms were clean and spacious with very strong aircon. The cold aircon was such a welcome relief as Hanoi was so hot and humid during my stay. I slept so well. The atmosphere was very homely and social. Will stay again for sure.

*Review based on staff and front area only* I stayed at Nexy Living rather than Nexy Hostel, so I can’t comment on the facilities inside the hostel itself, however I can say that the staff are friendly and knowledgeable (great recommendations for food for example), the entry area is comfortable and clean with places to sit, and they also offered free walking tours (though we did visit some sites that required payment and then there was tipping of the guide at the end - which was a little weird for us given we are from Australia and don’t tip for things let alone a free thing, but hey, they were lovely and social pressure is a thing…). The downside is that people who want to smoke do so on the front steps in the way of everyone coming and going from the hostel. Which is a bit annoying.

There are better hostels, with better services for the same price. The rooms are clean, beds are nice enough. But there is no bum shower in the toilets, no social atmosphere at all, no free filter water, no breakfast, no air con. Rooms in a female dorm are nearly double the price which is unusual and not right, you should not have to pay more to access a safe female space.

The best hostel in Hanoi. ❤️ Centrally located, clean rooms and bathrooms, great service by the staff. Super friendly and always helpful. They have a cafe & bar in-house. And a lot of common areas to chill. Definitely recommend this place to anyone who’s visiting Hanoi.

Nexy Hostel was my base when I explored the north. The staff is incredible and the hostel’s biggest asset from the bartender to the receptionists! They helped me plan and organize unforgetful experiences and tours! Will definetely come back 🤟

I thought it was a great hostel to stay. It’s modern, safe, relatively clean and has a friendly helpful staff. Not to forget it has a nice atmosphere and plenty of common spaces to meet people. Other things to consider, it has a capacity of 100 beds so it isn’t small. Breakfast isn’t included nor available, but at the bar you get food during the day.

Great hostel. Super location and good staff. Our room was unbelievably tiny and had 8 people but the beds were still brilliant.

  • 5/5 Nathan H. 5 months ago on Google
Stayed in the private room here which was clean, comfy and the shower was brilliant. As you’re in the old quarter of Hanoi it’s loud outside but that’s normal for the area. Staff were awesome - seems to be a great base for people doing HaGiang, SaPa and Halong Bay.

  • 5/5 Alexander S. 6 months ago on Google
It is a great hostel with stellar location. The people at the front desk are all really helpful and gave me good tips for cooking classes, a cruise in Halong Bay and a night street tour in Hanoi which I all booked directly at the hostel. The room was clean, good aircon and an overall great experience. Nice areas to relax as well. Would recommend!

We had a twin private room - comfy beds and a great central location. Vibe wasn’t great for a hostel and the long thin bar made it hard to socialise and meet people.

Great hostel to spend time in Hanoi. Front desk organized our bus to Sa Pa for us, and even let us use facilities after check out so that we were comfortable for our night bus. Would stay again!

The staff are super friendly and helpful. They are great to have a chat with. The dorms are the cleanest I have every stayed in. Lots of natural light and so dorms felt fresh and clean. The bathrooms and showers and kept very clean too. Breakfast had lots of options with lots of good food. Highly recommend this hostel and I would stay here again.

I loved my time at Nexy. I absolutely will stay there again. I recommended Nexy to someone who was coming to Hanoi and their changed to Nexy from their original hostel! The staff was super cool and helped me book all my trips. The balcony really takes the cake, though. I loved hanging out up there and meeting people.

Our favourite hostel in Vietnam! The reception staff were so helpful and always smiling - 24 hour service was comforting as well and made us feel safe. Happy hour at the bar is a great way to meet people and the prices are the same as the prices outside the hostel. Rooms were super comfortable and secure and we had good air con It’s in a great location in the old quarter making the main attractions easy to access. Even though it’s in the centre of the madness it’s down a quiet street and we couldn’t hear the beeping horns at all!

  • 5/5 Walter M. 4 years ago on Google
Fun and friendly hostel with rooftop deck to checkout the downtown festivities. The dorms are comfortable, place feels safe, and a fun bar. My only complaint is that the showers were a bit tight which makes it hard to shower and not get your clothes/towel wet.

I had the best sleep while staying in the hostel. I loved it because people are good in communicating and they have library. I will definitely come back. The points for growth probably will be hot and cole water for the shower and water system will be ok and cleaner. Other than these, all is well in this amazing property!

This was the best hostel I have stayed at ever. The staff were absolutely lovely and helped me out with all my travels plans. I also found it very easy new meet new people. The bar has a great happy hour deal and delicious food too. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. Best night's sleep during my travels. The beds even have their own privacy curtains, huge locker, plug socket and reading lamp. Good breakfast with noodle soup to start off the day. I had a thoroughly enjoyable time here. Thank you Nexy!

I loved everything about this hostel. It's in a perfect location right in the Old Quarter, the place is very clean and the beds are very comfortable, they have lots to do in the hostel, the staff is incredibly helpful and can take care of almost anything for you from booking buses and tours to refilling your water. Each bed has a big locker and the beds are extremely spacious as well. Their happy hour at the bar is a great way to meet others in the hostel. I would highly recommend this place!!

A fantastic hostel! From the start, before I arrived I was met with great service. All the staff I met were helpful, fun and knowledgeable. Their location is phenomenal, right in the thick of old town with marketplaces and lots of local eats, entertainment and historical buildings. Their street is also just off the path, so at night you can sleep, while still very close to the central night out district. They have a nice rooftop courtyard that you can see the city from, which was really nice to hang out in. I highly recommend for both solo travelers, as I was the first night I was there, and also for traveling with friends, my next two nights. The food was great, and good prices for beers and their delicious mock/cocktails. I was certainly happy with how they accommodated myself and my friends. 10/10!

Really nice boutique hostel. The 14-beds dorm is a good choice, there's lots of space compared to a 8-beds standard room. Price is average for the Old Quarter. I loved the TV room and rooftop, good to chill. Not big atmosphere as it's low season, but it might look better when busier! Very clean and basic breakfast for free. Great location

As a 36 year old, it is a bit odd to say this was my first hostel experience. And it did not disappoint. I stayed in a deluxe dorm with 8 beds and with the curtains, the bunks felt very private. The crowd is very civil so I did not suffer from any drunk party animals. The bathrooms were clean at all times and I never had to wait for a shower. The staff is super helpful with arranging day tours or airport transfers. Highly recommend to the middle aged solo traveller like myself.

I had an amazing experience here. Staff were incredible and helpful. Rooms well-designed with larger lockers with each bed. Beds were extremely comfortable. Bathrooms were were clean with strong hot showers. Loved the bar with great happy hour deal and social atmosphere. I found it very easy to meet people at this hostel. Good breakfast and ideal location. Highly recommended!

Amazing hostel with great staff. The people working here are lovely and caring. Location of the hostel is perfect so I could walk everything without have to pay for taxis. Free breakfast was good and so was the food at the bar. Rooms are spacious and great value for money. Highly recommended

The 8 bed dorm I was in was the smallest room I have ever stayed in. Absolutely claustrophobic. Literally 2 square meters of floor space for 8 people is just ridiculous. One person was packing there backpack on the floor and it wouldn't be possible to enter or exit the room anymore for another person. That was unfortunately not what was pictured on the photo when I booked. Communal areas are nice, bede are comfortable and bathrooms were clean.

  • 4/5 Sasha H. 1 year ago on Google
The private room for three was very comfortable and clean. It has the basics you need: water, kettle, towels & some toiletries provided. The bathroom was small but clean. Enough room for three but glad we knew each other well before hand. The beds were wonderful and very comfortable with soft bedding and excellent pillows The staff could not have been more helpful - friendly and informative. They will help you arrange tours and answered all questions well. The bar had a wonderful vibe and we met lots of other friendly travellers.

The rooms in Nexy hostel are spacious and nice. The beds are very comfortable. The staff is super friendly and they speak really good english. I had problems to extend my visa. The staff supported me and made it possible for me to extend my residence permit, everything worked out great. I can really recommend the hostel.

Great hostel! Clean room with strong AC, very friendly and helpful staff. Not a party hostel so it's nice and easy to meet people who likes exploring cultures and nature like me!

Honestly had a wonderful time. The bar didn't have a tender but was still able to get a few beers and meet some people. The game room is pretty chill too. Perfect for backpackers.

Really wonderful hostel, located right in the heart of Hanoi's old Quarter. Stayed there for 2 nights while travelling through the north alone. The beds are comfortable and spacious, the toiletries were clean, lockers were big and secure. The hostel's atmosphere and staff are incredibly warm and helpful. Their bar is fantastic - met a few lovely travellers there, who very quickly turned into friends. The bathrooms are large - could be a tad cleaner, but for a hostel and for the price you pay, totally worth it. Highly recommended for solo travellers.

Had a great stay here, the hostel is very clean and the bed was comfortable despite being in the smallest room. They have lots of places to chill and hangout and the bar is a good place to meet other travellers especially over happy hour. Definitely staying here again next time I’m in Hanoi!

Great AC, comfortable beds, clean, quiet. Being able to leave our luggage while we went adventuring after checking out was super convenient. Chau who works there has amazing english and the best recommendations. We stayed in a private room with a double bed and then in a private room with two seperate beds - this room was bigger and nicer. They have great shared facilities too like a library and rooftop!

I recently stayed at Nexy Hostel for nearly two weeks since I had some work to do in Hanoi and I must say it was a fantastic experience. The hostel's location is superb, situated in a relatively quiet alley with plenty of food options around. The convenience of having everything within reach was great. One of the most important things to me about this hostel are the comfortable rooms. The bunk beds were fitted with curtains, which provided a level of privacy and comfort that made my nights definitely more enjoyable. The facilities were also great, with everything well-maintained and clean. There is a rooftop with a fantastic view and also a common area to hang out at or play pool. The staff at Nexy Hostel are amazing, super friendly, and always ready to help. They made me feel at home right from the moment I walked in the door. especially enjoyed talking to the guy at the bar, who was hilarious and always had great stories to tell - a true entertainer. Give him a tip, he deserves it for his hard work! The hostel is a perfect place to socialize, without being a crazy party hostel. Overall, my experience at Nexy Hostel was one of my favorite hostel experiences. From the location to the facilities, everything was top-notch, and the staff made my stay all the more enjoyable. I would highly recommend this hostel to anyone visiting Hanoi, whether for work or leisure.

Stayed here three times and it was truly the best experience. Clean, helpful with amazing tourist recommendations. Super central, the rooms comfortable with storage space. If you’re in Hanoi, highly recommend.

Great location, nice place, comfy beds, spacious, clean, friendly staff. Only 2 issues. One is the horrible WIFI (super super slow), making it unsuitable for longer stays. Also the common areas and social vibe. While the social vibe is nice if you wanna party in big groups, it's not the friendliest for solo travelers meeting other solo travelers. The common areas are tucked away and so nobody passes through them without already knowing others. The front reception area is the most social. The 1st floor bar in the back is next most social. Game room and rooftop terrace are tucked away on other floors where most people don't really pass by them.
